Compared to the first one this one fall short on mystery and supernatural, but more drama.
Really?
I feel it's less mystery because our protagonists are as lost as we are in this mindf*ck, opposite to the first season where Ajin was a big part of the mystery. Now that we know about him, it feels less classic "detective" but the mystery is here.

And the supernatural is less... "flashy"?... but it's everywhere all the time. It's just that it's not as clearly explained as in the last season because everybody knows all about it. Ajin doesn't have to put into words what is happening.

I kind of understand where you're coming from, but it feels incorrect to me? Idk how to explain ^^' (sorry, english is not my first language)

This is AMAZING. Way darker and tense than the first season, with less "in your face" magic, but the atmosphere is "dark magic everywhere, wait for it to bubble up to the surface but you're already done when you understand what is happening".

In the first season, Ajin was the protagonist, but still he was in control of everything as he was the strongest and most knowledgeable. But here, it's full of sorcerers hiding in all corners, and we can feel the danger EVERYWHERE.
The quality of the show is through the roof, so thankful that Netflix's money is put into this season. The show feels a lot more mature and SO. FING. COOL.

Love, love, love this season. Can't wait for the 4th episode.

Title Chihayafuru: Full Circle Spoiler
I was not fully into the first episode, but episodes 2 to 6 were amazing!Love the karuta club members, they're…
They changed Oe and Tsukue's relationship timeline, it seems. They began to date in 3rd year of high school in the manga, but in this drama, they began to date as adults instead?

I wonder if that means that Chihaya & Taichi are not together in MEGURI, too? Because Chihaya ends up alone in the movies, though she confesses her feelings to Taichi at their high school graduation, and they're together in the manga.

I reeeeeaaaally love the Mizusawa boy from the drama, because he seems to be a weird mix of Taichi and Suou, being nice on the surface, but a little twisted inside like Taichi. And he kind of talk like Suou, too? His sadistic habit of using words to get under the skin of... everybody. And his way of subtly looking down on people. ^^'
+ he seems nice to girls (heroine) and mean to guys (heroine's classmate)?
I don't think he's in love with the heroine, or anything, so maybe he's just flirty like Suou and just dislikes the friend only because he's a guy, and especially because he seems to be gifted at karuta. lol

I was not fully into the first episode, but episodes 2 to 6 were amazing!

Love the karuta club members, they're all such good kids, and Oe is adorable as always, with the aura of a true lady T^T

There has been some change to the manga, so I wonder if they took writing freedom for things that have not been into the 3 movies. I'm not against it, but I'm curious! ^^

In the same way as the original manga, I absolutely adore that we are taking our time, and seeing their training FOR MONTHS. And that it's not about "how we became the best team in the world in 5 months even though almost all members were beginners".
It also makes for a very believable fast-paced story. We see a lot of montages of them talking, hanging out, training, etc... So we believe it when there is a wall to conquer sometimes (not like some other stories where there seems to be an incident every. single. day). We believe that they're friends. And we're truly frustrated when they lose (even though they did their best) or win (because we saw them work hard).

For the secondary characters, though, there's so many of them I wonder if we'll really have time for everybody, outside of the simple "rivalry". The charmof Chihayafuru was that the other schools were not just "rivals" but really well fleshed people who had a lot of development in parallel to the main kids.

I think Nagi's character will be well treated, as she has a past with the heroine, and the base is solid for a good development of their story together. But Orie? He still seems very mysterious at the moment, even though it's more than half of the story... Maybe I'm just worrying too much. There's still 4x45mn of story to go through.

Anyway, cool story, cool characters, really nice atmosphere, love it!

(the spoiler comment below talks about the manga, which differ from the movies, so if you don't want to get spoiled, don't read)

Why would anyone think it would’ve cancelled at all?? It’s got nothing to do with China since it’s not airing…
People are panicking, because even if most of the production is not Chinese, and is "safe", the actors are Chinese and could be stopped by pressure from their government. The fact that the original work is Chinese could also serve as a reason for the Chinese government to halt production.

Mostly, the panic comes from this week's cancelled episode.

Ongoing Chinese BL adaptation being stopped by censors has happened in the past. Though this case is different as it is not a Chinese production. People are still worried.

Title Call Me by No-Name Spoiler
It's was a little confusing for me.1. Why kotoha hide her name?2.why she hates her mom?3.How did megumi find her…
For the 1st point, it's actually because she wanted a legal trace of the abuse.

At that time, there was nothing in the law about a mother sexually abusing her daughter, so the mother never faced any criminal charges for it. She only got charged for sexually assaulting her son, as there were laws about it.

So, there was no trace of her abuse officially.

But she wanted it to be acknowledged, so she decided to do the work to change her name legally. You need to have a reason to change it, and she declared her abuse officially. There was no law to punish her mother, but she could still use the abuse as a reason to change her name.

So even if in her mother's legal documents there is no mention of the abuse of her daughter, as the law did not recognize it at the time, there is still an official trace of the abuse in the daughter's legal documents as the reason for her name change.

She also personally hated her name because it was derived from her mother's name.

How is this 7.7/10? Is the site bugging?

What a gem! It was absolutely brilliant. I never tried Japanese GL before, and now I shot myself in the foot by watching what seems to be the best one first.
Like... Wow!

The directing is gorgeous, the scenario is beautiful, the characters are amazing. The story has its dark moment but the tone is right, and it is never melodramatic.

The acting is insane. How could they nail every single cast? Everybody is just breathing life in those roles, there's nothing to say.

It's a 10/10 for me. I want to erase my memory and watch it again.

I loved the original comic, and the kdrama was fun, but based on the first 2 episodes, I think I love this style the most?

The changes they made make it more modern and alive.
I like that we take the time with the story and the characters to meet and know each others.

So we finally see why Sun has a problem with elevators.
He seemed to have interesting relationship to women in general, so no surprise he got mommy issues. (just by his choice of work, it kind of says a lot).
That's pretty creepy of his mom to do that kind of talk in front of him.

I agree with her that everybody needs to do what they need to do to eat, and I disagree with shaming women for their choices. But not in front of the kid...

Gorgeous trailer.

I wonder if there will be romance between the lead man & girl. 12 years gap between the actors, seems pretty big, but if they have chemistry then whatever 🤣

Would love to see a platonic relationship thought.

The casting is fire, cant wait.
