What an awful movie adaptation. The drama version was a bajillion times better.. Even when I went in with no expectation still, did'nt know it to be this bad. The low rating and many bad reviews were true you can really trust them. OUAT was a perfect example of a movie without a soul. Bad acting, bad chemistry and bad storyline you name it, all in one movie. Only the cgi effects and some of Bai Qian costumes are the best things in this movie.
Came from Screenwriter Choi Ran who wrote Iljimae (2008) and God Gift 14 Days (2014). Her previous works were my favourite. Thus, I shall watch this eventhough I'm not so fond of the main cast .I trust she will brings the best out of GAR and SSH *fingercrossed*
* Weak and slow progressed storyline. The story never developed since ep 4. At least the 1st few episodes looked promising. I liked the first 4 episodes better than the rest. The last episode was the worst though.
*Very misleading title. What Water God? I wish his power were shown more than just a mere 2 times in the show. And why the Bride in the title? That was never explained logically. I never read the manhwa and will never ever read it in this lifetime.
* Ha Baek was just an empty and idle character I'm dissappointed. Againn..What deity he is actually? With no power..just sitting around reading book and cooks. Oh..Being a Deity of Cooking suits him better because at least he's good at cooking according to So Ah.
*Poor delivery of its main lead. I don't blame this 100% on the main leads because everyone already know the poor scripts contributed more to the failure of this show. NJH maybe good at delivering happy scenes but he fails at delivering emotional scenes especially scenes that required him to produce tears. It felt fake in my observation. SSK ,she was not any better.
* Some of the episode felt disconnected than the previous one. Like there will be new conflict introduce into the episode when the previous conflict are not even being solved yet. Some of them are overused and used many episode for it to be explained.
* Unclear motive of most of the characters. From the beginning of the show till the end, what was the reason that made Moo Ra so unhappy and angry at Habaek..the reason that I'm aware of was not that convincing. Some of the characters, they just come and go with no significance meaning. They are there just for the sake of being paid.
Perfect example of drama with no significance plot. Just a love story between a jealous (god?) guy and a (pshyciatrist?) lonely girl..Pity though, the story could have been better if the writer use more of her brain cells.
If there's any good melodrama out there, I will be attracting to it like a moth. Reading the reviews of this…
Omo. Firstly, thank you for replying to me, I thought I couldnt find the answer to my question in this lifetime lol.
Alright, what you said convinced me more. I'll watch this later after I download all the episodes :)
whoever thought having a 3 minutes long scene with a camera rotating around a dinner table in ep 10 is a good…
Me too..I'm busy getting dizzy watching that particular scene . Did'nt get what they're actually saying. Fortunately,I'm not that interested anyway. Whoever suggested that idea, I cursed you, man.
is it worth to watch some of you loved it and some cant give it a high rate and not that much of my friends watch…
If you're into melodrama, family theme drama I suggest you to watch this. If you still unsure if this drama is your cup of tea just try 2 or 3 eps before you decide to finish or not.
If there's any good melodrama out there, I will be attracting to it like a moth. Reading the reviews of this drama made me want to watch this..But it seem like it will be a very long way to go because I need to download this first before I can watch this. Hope it is worth all my effort though, from sacrificing my time and my internet data for one long drama.
Just want to ask question to who have watched it, do you think I would love this if I loved Innocent Man , Autumn Concerto, Defendant, Secret (few of my top fav revenge drama)?
I agree to City Hunter, Pinocchio, Playful Kiss and Love Me If You Dare but strongly disagree on Full House..the best thai romance lakorn I ever watched ,way better than the korean version and the leads's chemistry was extremely over the roof :p
How will they compress 58 eps long drama into 1 hours 40 mins movie I'm curious..even the 43.hours 50 mins of its drama version was'nt enough for me..and I don't think Yang Yang could surpassed Marc Chao's version of Ye Hua..
1) Bride of Habaek
2) Goodbye Mr Black
3) Hyde,Jekyll, Me
Despite the horrible plot and acting I managed to finish those. Kudos to myself~
