Ok hater 7.8 is unfair, definitely deserved 8 or higher for the plot. I get it, it’s very fast paced and you have to pay very close attention which can be exhausting but if you watched to the end, you have to appreciate the high level schemes And all the twists and turns. Loved Zhou Yiran as always, his expressions, fight scenes. Chen Duling was a total badass. My only comment are I didn’t totally believe in their chemistry and I found the use of red everywhere a bit overstimulating and jarring.
I had such high expectations….i will continue to support because i love BoatOat and its Omegaverse but I wish the script and direction was better. The acting is very wooden and the styling is distracting. What they did to Boats hair is a tragedy. There are so many awkward pauses and empty stares, the dialogue sounds so choppy. BoatOats chemistry is the saving grace of this drama and there NC scenes are fantastic, especially because Oat always seems so vulnerable when they together.
Just binge watched the first 5 episode and I’m hooked. So thrilled to see Hwang In Youp as the main lead, he is so talented but so underrated. So far this drama just makes me happy and I absolutely love the OST.
I’m also enjoying how they are adults and actually have direct conversations instead of a billion misunderstandings. Loving all 3 couples and their stories which is pretty impressive. I hate his father with a passion which means they have done a great job with the actor, I hope we get a good resolution in this case. I have high hopes, Cant wait to see the rest!
I agree with you that it’s ok for the mL or Fl to die but in this case I didn’t mind. I felt that this character deserved happiness after a lifetime of suffering.
Story of pearl girl, he doesn’t the end and I was totally ok with it because it made sense. Same thing with Love of Nirvana. Plenty of dramas kill off their leads
I’m on episode 8 and so far I think it’s pretty good. I don’t love republican era dramas because the angst and drama can be over the top but so far so good. I already hate the mother sister which tells me that they are doing a good job acting. ZLH and WCR have been great so far, full throttle scheming. It’s nice to see ZLH in something a little different which hopefully will allow us to see more of his acting abilities.
The story does play a bit like a short dramas just better production but I feel this seems to be the standard for republican era dramas
Loved this series, crime/mystery some fresh and unique for BL. Leads were 🔥, Ju Ta Seon had non a chokehold. Overall good plot but acting but truly felt that 2-3 more episodes would have have allowed for deeper story telling. The climax and. Ending felt a litttle rushed. Aside from that brilliant 9/10
Absolutely loved this drama! Fast pacing, original plot and the leads were 🔥. I know everyone was concerned about the age gap but you couldn’t even tell. Their chemistry and acting was next level, epic slow burn romance all done with looks and emotions, no kissing to respect FLs age.
I don’t normally like my romance without a kiss scene but this was done so well that I didn’t even notice.
ML had some amazing fight scenes, he owned this character. FL was also outstanding, she has a great future ahead of her.

I loved this drama and both leads were amazing with crazy chemistry and their visuals!!!! I have been following Song Wei Long for years and I have to say this is his best performance yet. I didn’t see SWL I saw Chen Yi, he completely embodied his character. This is not your typical love story and at time it does get frustrating and painful to watch but you can understand because of their history and trauma. Their relationship is very complicated but you keep watching and willing them to be happy.
One of my favourite scenes on the beach when they are asking Miao Jing what kind of man she likes and she says someone “Fierce, devoted and who will burn down the world for me”. Gives me goosebumps!
I don’t understand why the score has lowered? They acted the crap out of this drama, production, story was all amazing.
Let’s not forget OST, currently have Lars Huang Wander on repeat. Who knew SWL had such a beautiful voice too. 9/10 for me

I really want to like this because it reminds me of old school Chinese BLs but holy shit Xiao Fan is so painful to watch. I feel sorry for him and I can u understand why he is the way he is but still painful to watch. I am curious to see what they do with the whole sadist/Masochist story..:I hope they explore that more
Holy shit! That NC scene was absolutely amazing, I felt like I was peeking on a real couple. Either that was next level acting or these two have been practicing at home. Sexy, full of emotions and beautifully filmed.
And holy crap Jay is huge, his proportions are crazy. That chest is all our dream…
The topic and thoughts around suicide was also well done, I found myself tearing up at sun walked through the run and finally coming to the realization that he wanted to live but more importantly be truly alive. Letting go and running to Jay in the rain.
Love this series, really enjoyed enjoying the story but I have to say I can’t turn away from the Leads chemistry.
The dark side of this industry makes me want to vomit, scream and rage. So many things that as audience we don’t, the pain or sacrifice some of these actors must have made to get an opportunity. Truly heartbreaking
Wow this was actually really well done, good plot, great acting and beautiful visuals. Total surprise and worth watching. Always support historical BLs so we can get more 9/10
