That was brilliant!!! Everyone complaining about the lack of romance and resolution apparently doesn’t understand Netflix…I’m sure they are planning a sequel. The leads had so much chemistry, watching them dance together was so incredibly seductive. Takeuchi Ryoma the man you are, what charisma? dripping sex appeal and that waist????? I actually really enjoyed the story and it had much more emotion and openness than most JBLs. I love the train scene where they finally let go…they have this amazing push and pull dynamic. Looking forward for o a continuation of their story!! Please give us season 2!!!!
Here are some questions that I’d like to ask as I’m not familiar with the source material
1) Is Suzuki part Cuban? 2) high level male competitors kiss in the middle of a ballroom and no one reacts? LOL 3) why does Sugkiki dance with Suzuki at the end in the first place?
Loved this drama, such beautiful story telling. Leads had killer chemistry, all the buildup and tension and then their dating era was so sexy. With real life age gap. They were both so comfortable with each other and made their intimacy look so sincere. Both leads were excellent, ML had the best smile and micro expressions, and his eyes were so expressive. He did such a good job as the young awkward boy And then later the more confident man.
I loved that the director didn’t compromise the characters because of the age gap, they showed the reality through their challenges and differences but also the strength of tested love. The FL was strong, smart, determined and didn’t sway once she made up her mind. Once they got back together she was fully committed and didn’t allow for drama including her parents. I really loved her conversation with her dad.
I enjoyed the side couples. Wishes we had seen more of Chen Ruis romance. I have to also mention the beautiful OST added so much to the scenes. This drama and couple will be missed. 9/10 for me
All I have to say is that I am obsessed with this BL. As a fan of the Shui Qian Chengs 188 series where all the ML are Scum Gong, I am loving they are staying true to this book. This is the first time I’ve seen a BL show a ML this crazy obsessed, I mean episode 10 was intense. Total psychological warfare….looking forward to the redemption arc. This is literally true wife chasing crematorium!!!!
This show is definitely not for the faint of heart and you have to enjoy the troupe. Everyone just hang in there, though a lot of craziness, pain and angst. I’m sure we will get a reformed ML and happy ending
Seriously this BL is everything!!! I haven’t laughed out loud so much in a long time. Absolutely love these boys. Pond is killing this character, he totally embodies this role. The director has managed a perfect balance between humour and serious with the most beautiful cast. I mean they are all gorgeous but Ponds face is like a sculpture.
I see people saying this series doesn’t deserve praise but I completely disagree. I’m older and have been watching BLs for a long time and I have to say this BL hits perfect. I don’t normally like comedy or kitschy dramas but they are doing this so well. The dialogue is just brilliant, the mixture of cheesy lines mixed in with sincerity is so good. They manage to still bring out so much emotion and still make us laugh. For me it’s not just the star power of the actors but the actually acting and script is also amazing.
Cant wait for the rest of the episodes and for those people complaining….don't watch and go elsewhere
Love the actors but truly disappointed in the story. Drama has so much potential, beautifully filmed with a great cast but fell flat. The script was poorly written and the overall direction terrible. This drama has some heavy topics and none were handled well, the lack of emotion through out the drama was so frustrating. So many outstanding questions and many were not explained or resolved.
At least the friend faced the consequences but the fact that ML was oblivious to the part his mother played was so frustrating. I was waiting for a real heart to heart between mother/son where she explains why to him but never happened. Also she left for a year after finding a child, what the hell? I swear this script was written by an emotionally repressed teenager.
I wanted to like it so much but it was a bit of a let down.
Okay. Forgive me, but I am confused. The ML keeps saying things that hint he and FL were a romantic couple in…
From previews it looks like they were a couple in the past but broke up so he could study and abroad. Also she thinks he confused love and gratitude and wanted him see the world
Completely separate from the drama, sort of, thoughts:A young man just out of his teens rescued by a pretty older…
I can totally see how love can happen in real life and the show. Watching how their past relationship unfolds make so much sense. Lets face it, some younger men are just more mature and responsible and that can be a big piece. Personally I don't care about age, if two people can make it work then that’s great!
After those 2 episodes I came straight here…another anticlimactic moment when Le finds out FL is his mother….i swear the director said ok Actors please show NO emotions. WTF listening to the ML talk to Le was so disappointing, I mean that could have been such a beautiful moment.
Omg the grandma just keeps getting worse…I mean at what point as a child even a grown up do you cut parents out of your life. The ML character is such a simp.
Holy shit her friend is just vicious! I will say at least we finally saw some emotion in that confrontation scene. I hope the friend and grandma come to a very bad end, they don’t deserve forgiveness!!!!
I know both leads are great actors so I’m very disappointed in what I’m seeing. Truly had so much potential but the dialogue and direction is weak.
I will watch to the end….Im now putting all my emotions in Sniper Butterfly instead.
His reaction is too passive for me. Infact both of them. You find out your mother lied and kept your son away…
This is one of my biggest complaints, no one has emotions on this show! It would be great if we could actually see an emotional reaction. Everything feels so flat
I seriously wanted to scream at the TV, I don’t care if the grandmother has early onset Alzheimer’s, her actions are horrible and to tell the child that his mother didn’t want him!!! Argh what a horrible human being. This drama would have been so much better if we could see more emotions…everyone is just so meh. Where is the anger, rage, crying…it’s so one dimensional. It’s too bad because the leads are great actors. Why is it so friggin hard to tell the child that she is his mother? They act like teenagers unable to make any decisions for themselves.
And the scam…like we didn’t see that coming from a mile away. Why is she so dumb? Seems like a pattern for her? I think she was too busy trying to feel important again.
