3rd rewatch and I still like it. Why is the score so low? ignore and watch it if you’re into this genre. Yes it’s a little over the top but the ML is actually perfect for this role and has great chemistry with the FL. Love his Alpha male, domineering attitude especially in the bedroom, so much intensity. Wishes it was longer!
Just finished episode 6 with good subs on Viki. I really like it, dark toxic drama. The ML is so interestin, complex and so damaged. The MDL score is way too low. This is such a fascinating drama and the actors are doing a great job
So much CRAZY!!!! I love it. Love the leads and we can feel the chemistry. ML is sexy and ruthless. The pace is fast, blink and you miss a storyline. What’s with only 24 episodes???

Just rewatched the drama for the 3rd time. Hadn’t watched in about 2 years and forgot what a masterpiece this was. I get goosebumps every time I watch, I want to be immersed in this kind of sexy, carefree, passionate love. The leads have some of the best chemistry I’ve seen on screen and even though there is approx. 20year age difference. I never really feel it because the leads are so comfortable with each other. To me it never feels creepy or wrong.
I love that she is shameless and bold. The girl has been close to death and this is her chance to fall in love and she takes it! He is more reserved but can’t resist her charm, she may have fallen first but he falls deeper. I swear Xu Ruohan can flirt with anyone and make it look natural (the Best Thing with Zhang Linghe)
I actually really like her mother’s story and dating a younger man. I appreciate the drama pushing boundaries and just focusing on what it means to meet the right person regardless of age, job, background. Let’s talk cinematography, wow, wow, I’m always blown away when I watch, so many beautiful moments, big and small. I feel like lm being wrapped in a warm hug LOL. Let’s not forgot the OST, fits so perfectly and such poignant music and lyrics.
Needless to say this one of my most memorable modern Cdramas of all time! 10/10
oh…I think this is the first historical drama i’ve watched where they actually consummate the wedding night…
And the girl is not shy or pushing ML away. Not only that we actually get her shoulder in bed. It was beautiful and natural. These 2 have chemistry for days
Wow episode 28 was absolutely amazing, my favourite so far. So many major things happening but also beautiful little moments that every girl has on her wedding day. Her chat with her grandmother was so precious, loved her conversation with ye xian, finally explaining why she can’t be with him, their kiss in the wedding sedan. Although some bittersweet moments, i seriously smiled throughout.
Haters gonna be haters but I personally, absolutely loved it! Leads had killer chemistry and face cards! Damn Woo Seok and his abs. Aside from that, Supporting cast were excellent and I also really enjoyed the story. Great balance of humour and real storytelling. I also found the outcomes satisfying and really appreciated seeing an epilogue for our leads. The scene of him standing in from of the robe in the museum was such a beautiful moment.
Needless to say I loved it! It gave me exactly the roller coaster ride I wanted! 10/10
