The reliance of OTT platforms like Netflix have definitely had a negative impact on the kdrama industry but Netflix doesn't care because they're able to afford the high production costs and the networks can't which works in their favour (Hasn't it come out that despite some dramas being a hit in the ratings the networks still don't make a profit because of the high production costs?).
Once thing I have noticed is that the same actors keep getting cast in dramas. I read somewhere that it's because OTT platforms want to pick actors that they know will do well on their platforms/have a global fanbase.
Everyone around them pointed out the issue with their relationship (miscommunication) and they still didn't get it. Instead they decide to get a divorce and start over as if that's going to solve the problem
I watched the anime after learning that this drama is basically a spin-off. The anime provides more information to the gangster subplot that felt a bit random in the drama. While the drama provides more context to the missing girl case. I recommend watching both to get the full story
I saw that it's on track to become the lowest ratings Asadora ever......I like kanna other projects but this is…
I haven't watched the drama yet but from what I read online, the drama is a bit slow and doesn't present the gyaru/gal characters well so people don't find them likeable. It's also doesn't help that it's airing after tora ni tsubasa which was a hit and viewers are going to compare the two.
