Probably done for many but I’m on 37 and the demise of Chen’s cousin is super sad. Representative of the people of the world driven by greed and power, forsaking gratitude and love. The fact that Chen still valued his cousin and was truly remorseful about his bad choice reps those on the other side who continues to hope and love despite.
Okay this is more of a recommendation msg scroll if you’re not interested.
My three current dramas, A Splendid Match, My Royal Nemesis, and We Are All Trying Here. I absolutely love all three and highly recommend. First almost done, second just started, last just started though it’s nearly done. When you’re in a happy place with what you’re watching, you just gotta share to maybe get others in that happy place too.
Tbh I didn’t like the arc of the cousin but now that it’s behind (or is it after ep 34)whether it was a filler or what, it was so ridiculous. Love cannot be forced…period! I’m just gonna conclude it was to solidify that Chen is a great man and gave us even more sweet moments of our favorite couple. 😊 To this point of the story, GJ is true to her strong character and that slap to the cackling mouth woman before going to see to her man was so satisfying.
The very foolish cousin trying to buy and take GJ when kidnapped is all time low brain foolishness. Like where does he even think to take her. She wouldn’t stand for it, first. Her hubby would go through hell n back looking for her. First time I’m not liking writing. I mean come on…anyways, I’m loving the sweet moments of newlyweds.
Finally caught up to part where someone said he didn’t help her up after nearly getting struck by car. She was safe but more importantly was his self gratification that he discovers he actually does care for others in their time of fear and pain. That was very moving. This character (s) building is very powerful. Very good stuff here, glad I’m here.
Just started and currently I’m picking up dramas based on criticisms i see here and there, especially based on looks. Loving My Royal Nemesis and though Ive only gotten through 1st of this, it’s a keeper. Two totally different genres but I’m engaged. I think I like my criteria ☺️
28..on this auspicious episode, I would like to say this: ✅ great cast. Love everyone and their role bringing this story to life..veteran ones especially are marvelous, others are on their way. ✅ writing. According to my none writing skills, this is perfection. Love the beginning exchange of GJ and her grandmother, the one of GJ and YX was perfect and I’m so at peace with this resolution for him. If I can feel something and receive it, it’s perfection. ✅direction. Everything; scenes, timing, cinematography, is so well thought out. ✅culture. I’m understanding a bit about the Chinese culture more and more. The wedding part where one family actually celebrates (yes the other side receives the dowry) is different so….the wedding attires were so beautiful, wow. Actually costumes in this series are really nice. ✅characters. I really like the heroine and hero here. Kindness, Thoughtfulness. That’s them. Well played, well acted, we can learn a lot from them. (please please give them a happy ending 🤞🏽🤞🏽)
Besides the ending part with the whispering hearts of jealous men, oh and Chen’s foolish cousin who’s forgotten how he was elevated, im so glad Not to have seen GJ go to bed with the head piece. I’m not sure it’s part of the culture or just filming laziness but there’s plenty of drama with women going to bed with the headpiece it bothers me a lot 😆 in all, such a great episode.
And he’s not wrong for assuming she might have feelings for him. They’ve been through a lot together. It’s…
If there’s one thing I think I’ve observed enough of these dramas, no matter how much a second lead may feel about the main gal, resolutions vary. If I’m not wrong from all that I’ve seen, this is the first one where it is quite dramatic to a degree that I do feel so bad for YX. I didn’t get that she liked him as a man, but for sure she cared very much for him as a long time friend. Sigh
27..The world needs more Marquis Changxing’s “my desire is not to be a lord but to have everlasting peace” but unfortunately we have too many Fu Han’s, greedy, with no moral compass wreaking disastrous consequences.
Ep 26..heartbroken men, solid Gu n Chen, sigh…the world needs more Gu Jinyao where men fight after a kind woman, instead we have a world where women fight to jail very bad men because there’s too many to count…imo
Beginning of 26 breaks my heart. Regardless that the story is written this way, imagining anyone going through this heartbreak is tough. YeXian is a good person too, loved and had hopes, sad that ways of heart doesn’t always pan out in exact way we want it too. Gosh I didn’t know he had it deep poor fella.
So many great things in ep 25 yet I’m stuck laughing at the dismayed bird sound when Yao’s mom is about to announce the union cancellation of Gu Liang and her son. These spontaneous added elements adds to the dynamic of the storytelling and it makes me laugh all the time. These additions in Chinese film making is so satisfying. 😊
