I really like your review with exception of mentioning other popular casts. While I get the mention, that it would of boosted it, in some way it takes away from the excellent job of these two leads. Whether it won’t receive its proper recognition (i hope they do), without any comparison these two are awesome so I’d rather leave it there. I’m on 2nd episode and man am I impressed with the acting.

I know right. I hope in next episode it doesn’t happen but in many series the female acts coy or indignant and push away. I hope that she recognizes his desperate need of comfort in this low point of his life and just give him that without judgment.
I actually got a bit teary as Nin Meng reminisced about their past because despite his initial meanness, he actually cared and was looking out for her. That last part of episode 27 was harsh and writer perfectly wrote her in because only she can bring him reason and sense. I absolutely love this and getting sad it’s nearing end.
Lin Yu Shen became a favorite of mine since Dating in the Kitchen. I'm currently watching Stand By Me, surprisingly same main leads, Shen and Qin as this one. I'm watching SBM unsubbed on YT but after watching first episode, I was hooked. I'll definitely watch this one after per your review. Thanks
Thanks for your review, I am a hot mess five episodes in. Cried a lot and felt some of sweetest moments on television. I'm now in ep 22 and getting antsy about what is to come. Risked seeing the spoiler ending which I feel will help me finish because I've seen comments its a sad ending. This is such a good show I am really enjoying it just as you've said.

Sorry bout late reply...no major villain, cuz we can agree in many of these dramas where antagonist takes evil to a whole new level you have to question the sanity of ppl who thinks up of these things ?) so a mom who wants another gal but very tamed...dating almost right away, 2 or 3rd ep..a third love triangle almost towards end which annoyed me, but again, not too controversial...some parts draggy but overall, it’s a very cute one and I’m sure you’ll like it for the romance...

Trust me, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I wonder at the thinking process of these writers. In just about all the stories there are really evil antagonists who are either screamers, slappers, most astounding evil plots of revenge, etc.
#1 Father Is Strange is a 52 ep drama that was well worth it. The other ones I've watched? Yeah, I agree. #2 I hate those love triangles, especially when the SML is super nice or have changed and being so good to the FL. At least in the plot add a girl for the SL. Heirs come to mind, She Was Pretty, etc. #3 That is THE most annoying for me. The camera panning on the mouths coming into a kiss (60 secs, who does that?) and then it doesn't happen, OR, lips are closed and FL acts like she didn't know it was coming OR screams, OR eyes bulged like the unforgivable sin has been committed. #4 is ok #5 Subway and Quizno ads, lol. Back hug is cute but the other ones are overly used and abused..haha
