You cannot decide how people react to what happens to them, cause we are all different. The concept of "over reacting"…
South Korea has enacted laws against cyber-harassment and bullying with mixed success. However, changing deeply ingrained habits takes time.
Many have faced prosecution and community service, highlighting the importance of online accountability. Yet, progress feels slow and costly. Platforms themselves should bear some responsibility in ensuring a safer environment.
I assume she either made a huge mistake with the drunk driving or she had mental problems (maybe something bad…
It’s not about making excuses but understanding the reasons behind such behavior. We also don’t know what she has experienced since starting her career as a child. Without speculating, there could be countless factors that contributed to her struggles, potentially leading to depression and self-destructive behavior.
While mental illness doesn’t always lead to crime, it can in some cases, depending on the condition. Many celebrities have therapists and, at times, take medication, but these solutions rarely seem to fully resolve their issues.
Personally I think people that plaster all their social media accounts with photos of idols are being predatory…
MDL mainly consists of international fans and likely has little impact on Korean celebrities compared to Korean netizens. However, this doesn’t excuse inappropriate behavior from any fans.
As a platform, MDL is responsible for maintaining a safe environment, including monitoring user activity. Originally a drama database, it has become more of a tabloid, likely for clicks and revenue, making it part of the problem by fostering and amplifying such discussions.
the main lead in squid games had several and you all still watching that show
It has nothing to do with having a "low IQ." If it were that simple, celebrities and their agencies wouldn't invest so much effort in crafting and maintaining a public image to grow their popularity.
There's nothing wrong with feeling uncomfortable about who an actor is behind the scenes, especially when their actions are problematic. Some might even argue that having empathy means not being able to overlook their toxic or harmful behavior toward others.
It wasn’t just online criticism though —she tried to rebuild her life by working at a café, but even that…
She posted photos of herself working at a café, but this backfired when the café company stated that Kim Sae Ron had never been employed at any of their branches.
It seems she made several missteps in her attempt to improve her image and possibly return to acting.
That being said, it's impossible to fully understand what she went through or how difficult it has been for her. However, driving under the influence is not something one would expect from someone who is successful and stable. From that point, things only spiraled downward, and she continued to make mistakes.
Despite everything, I still hoped she would find the motivation and strength to make a comeback. She was a very talented actress.
I heard that if Jisung attended the award ceremony, he would likely win at least any kind of award. However, many…
Many believe that these ceremonies, much like their counterparts in the West, are simply a way for celebrities to boost their egos and celebrate themselves. Controversy surrounding awards is common across all types of media, and some people feel they aren’t even worth watching or attending. The notion that certain celebrities only need to show up to receive an award further highlights how unreliable and superficial these events can sometimes appear.
The second part of your complaint is exactly why I felt a bit mixed about the whole show. It does look like they…
The whole show is about a school enforcing anti-dating policy, more specifically by targeting straight couples. The director of the school does that because she believes that boys do not take responsibility when getting young girls pregnant. She is depicted as the antagonist there.
I am not saying this was the reason, but if I had to guess and based on how they glorify teen pregnancy, I would say that they are trying to encourage it more than the opposite. I don't believe the purpose of this show is to up the birth rate, but it's relevant because Japan is going through this very crisis. The story starts by merging two single-sex schools together, to facilitate interactions between the two sex.
For anyone wondering about the book that the niece mentioned.
The short story she reads is The Terrapin by Patricia Highsmith. She compares herself to the protagonist Victor who is emotionally abused by his difficult, haughty mother and ends up brutally murdering her at the end of the story. This explains the relationship she has with her mother and what she meant by "doing the same as Victor". Source: Reddit u/LenGwynn

I think it's normal for teenagers to act this way. What I mean is people behind the show (adults) did try to share a strange message. The show being 13+ and Japan facing alarming issues regarding birth rate, this could be problematic. I would have no problem with it if the end would show teenagers that might watch this that they should be more careful about the consequences of their actions.
Just what is the legal age in Japan? Students falling in love and having sex is like the norm in this drama when…
The second part of your complaint is exactly why I felt a bit mixed about the whole show. It does look like they glorify early pregnancy.. Japan is going through a crisis because of its declining birth rate, but this was an odd message.
Why do you feel like it is not complete? all characters arc were ended properly. And the main ended up together…
I did study cinema and enjoy paying attention to details. Sometimes it can ruin the experience as you can see the ropes and directors/writers don't hide what they're trying to do that well. But yeah since I spend hours watching content and drama I do enjoy being invested in the stories.
Why do you feel like it is not complete? all characters arc were ended properly. And the main ended up together…
They ended up together even though the ML traveled back to the US on his own (because he was threatened by his mom with the lawsuit). Then he went back during his vacation and they had dinner with all their friends but the FL wasn't present. This part makes you wonder how it will end because the long distance relationship seems to be struggling and they miss each other. The next day they confirm that they will still stay together because she is going to the US for her vacation. While we don't know what happens after that, it is safe to assume that they will keep doing this until the ML can go back to Korea (it is mentioned by the FL and her bestie that it should be wrapped up within 6 months or whatever). Or that they just try something in the US.
You can see their reactions because when they discuss it in the school they are talking about how they dislike people that leave without saying anything. It is supposed to be a joke because of the ex bf doing that, but we already know she only left for a few days and will go back to Korea after that (she works there after all).
The ML didn't really have a choice because his first plan didn't work out and his mother pressured him and made him understand that he wouldn't be able to work with any other company (because of the pending lawsuit). In the end he had to find a way to keep living, so it was not much of a choice unless he tried something else entirely (we already saw how it went as a waiter for his friend's restaurant). You're right though, none of them chose to sacrifice their careers and this was super realistic in the sense that they didn't abandon everything just to be with their partner. It is safe to assume that they are still together, because of how the story unfolded. I can understand if it wasn't enough, but the airport scene is there to make you believe that.
What is this? What's with the half ending? I was happy that the story was moving at a good speed and was not being…
Why do you feel like it is not complete? all characters arc were ended properly. And the main ended up together as well and made it work. Every stories have to end one day or another, I don't think it was a cliffhanger though.
Unpopular opinion but I felt sympathy for her ex. Or maybe it is because I liked the actor in "Love Next Door".
I can understand feeling sympathy for him and it does look like it was the goal too. But in the end they made it clear he was in the wrong on many levels.
ummm excuse me? ending and story apart, one thing is bothering me.. it's the fact that kang hu yeong which comes…
Not sure why this particular scene is bothering you so much, it was not out of character either. There are many people that do the same in real life and are way richer than he is supposed to be. I am not sure about the other details though.
Not perfect but it has heart. Some cute cliché, some very annoying ones. The OST is amazing and fits the theme and different situations perfectly. Kim Hye Yoon's acting can be a bit much at times but overall I would recommend giving it a try. Definitely not a 9/10 in my book but 7.5 or 8 for sure.
just woke up ...now i suddenly miss lovely runner...can anyone suggest me more of youth dramas..please
"Twinkling Watermelon" has time travel and is about youth, if you haven't seen it. Otherwise "Twenty-Five Twenty-One", "Age of Youth"... If you're into reality shows "Nineteen to Twenty" is great and very unique.
