For the most part, I enjoyed this series, despite a number of plot contrivances that were hard to swallow. But...I like the healthy vibe of Jerry and Damian's relationship, they are each charming and easy to like on their own, Kai is a doll and there's a nice ambience overall that I find nice to soak in. However, the episode 6/season-ending bombshell is fittingly, the contrivance to top all previous contrivances. I can't wait to see how the screenwriter attempts to make sense of the fact that over six years Damian has never found a way to share this. And why wouldn't he? It's silly.

But I'll be watching next season to find out. 6.5 stars.. My patience with melodramatic, implausible BL writing grows thinner all the time. There really is no excuse, at this professional level, why screenwriting should be so unimaginative and condescending.

This show has been way too straight for too long, as indicated by your list of relationships above. The Gay is like a one-note side joke at this point. You clearly like the show a lot more than. I was loving it until about ep. 8. The straightness and the ridiculous nature of TinSM's "relationship" has worn me down. And the end of ep 10 was the last straw. So predictably pathetic-gay BL classic development. ugh.

Thanks for mentioning when SM followed TC to the taxi stop and then...nothing happened. He said nothing of importance, neither did she, and then she went home. I was like "why was that scene even filmed let alone included?" That isn't the only scene that made me have that thought.

I'm bummed to see where this once-hilarious show that had me on the edge of my seat, raving, has taken itself. I'm taking it down from an 8.5 to a 6.5. Just sick of stupid shit like this.

Bravo! Steel yourself, in a couple of episodes there's an iceberg ahead and it's a really stupid, illogical, and utterly predictable chunk broken off the old, gays are pathetic BL glacier.

After episode 10:

Yeah, this is where with the original I began to go..."meh, whatever." SM gets exactly what he's dreamed of and...you know the rest. It's your basic, unoriginal, stupid, gays-can't-have-nice-things cliche, and it's a real disappointment to see this version go down the same ridiculous road as the original. It was bad enough that Tin and SM were supposedly "together" but had no romantic, physical or emotional connection that was ever shown. Oh well, I'll keep watching, but this series just dropped 2 stars in my estimation. What a predictable, but really sad, way to ruin a great show.

After episode 9:

This is about where, in the Japanese original, things began to feel out-of-whack to me. As much as I'd love to see Siu Muk and Tin together, it just doesn't feel real at all. SM asked Tin to be with him, but is Tin even the slightest bit gay or bi and isn't that kind of important? It's like Tin just said "yes" for the hell of it and even SM doesn't seem that happy about it. They have not shared one kiss or intimate moment of any kind and I don't feel that Tin is drawn to SM on a sexual level or hell, even a romantic one. And again, isn't that sort of crucial to being in a relationship with someone, gay OR straight? Tin thinks of them as friends; he keeps saying "but nothing else will change." Ummm...banging your friend in the butt while you kiss him seems like a fairly significant change to me.

The horrid outfit SM put Tin in when they went shopping seems a pretty unsubtle metaphor for SM trying to fit Tin into a sexual/romantic role that does not fit him in the slightest. And I don't buy that SM would even think that get-up looked good on Tin, it's totally out of left field.

So I'm mystified at what this show is trying to show us right now... two buddies pretending to be a couple when one of them isn' t even gay but he just goes along with it because...?" It doesn't even feel like Tin is placating SM but isn't really into it...I'm just not getting ANY signals from him and have no idea what's going on in his head. Tin is oblivious to a lot of things, but I don't think this is one of them. And I feel like the show is being cowardly in not addressing the sexual aspect of this at all. Tin and SM already live together and are now an item, but...are they sleeping together and having sex? It's been at least one night since they got together; did Tin sleep on the couch or on top of SM? If the latter, how did that go? This doesn't ring true or make sense to me.

well,, good...I guess. By ep 4 I was getting bored though, so taking a break til the weekend. There are a lot of implausible plot devices taking place in this show, and that makes it difficult for me to stay engaged. The pride parade segment felt overly long and preachy to me. BUT I am glad to hear it got renewed. Maybe it will get better.

That happens with every BL. How is this one different? I don't get why they just don't count the views from the pirate sites too. Maybe I'm naive and there is no way to do that, but a view is a view, regardless of where it happens. They need to pick up some sponsors and do some shameless product-placement like so many other BLs do.

Weird. This one grew on me fast and I loved it almost immediately and now as I finish episode 4 I find myself kind of...bored. The jump-around timeline is wacky: One minute there's the dramatic thing in the grocery store very early in the relationship, then we're back in the present and we never go back to the grocery store for at least two episodes. Just feels...erratic to me.

I don't find it AT ALL plausible that these two highly intelligent, accomplished men, who have already raised a child to the age of four, have ZERO plan for dealing with what was inevitably going to happen regarding Kai and the preschool. And them running out of the ice cream store like cowards instead of you know, just being straightforward, and the deceptions at the school gate, none of it rings true to me. This was all to be expected. They would have a plan.

The thing with Jerry's mom after they've been together for years and Kai is four years old...no, not plausible. All the actors are good but the story so far is lame. Also, the parade itself went on way too long and things got too preachy for me there, and then the drama after that was nail-biting for a couple of minutes, but overall, it just felt like this random thing that happened but had nothing to do with any overall story arc.

I intended to binge this through ep 6 tonight but I'm going to let it go and maybe watch the rest tomorrow or over the weekend.

I'm curious: Why do you think actors/singers/dancers/artists can't have children? I certainly never said I "know it all," that would be far from true. Thanks for that explanation. Makes sense to me. When I first found BL about 18 months ago, I was so lucky to have all the great series that had been completed to binge-watch, one after the other. Now that I've seen just about every fricking series, I planned to wait and binge new ones, but cave every time and watch them week by week. Most I will binge later on after some time has passed. I always get more out of a show I like on second viewing. I appreciate the few like Ossan's Love-Hong Kong version, that is releasing every other day. BTW, if you haven't heard of it, it is the best in my opinion. Better than the Japanese original.

Episode 2:

So impressed. Loving this show! And a day ago I had no plan to watch it, as it sounded hokey to me. You know, I found their immediate connection and falling in love so organically, passionately and quickly to be totally believable and real. I've been through that myself, and I felt just as I perceived they did. Everything about their meeting and the early days of their courtship, leading up to that kiss in the street was just beautiful. And we got a hot, unexpected love scene too! Bravo! :D

Just finished episode one and I'm really glad I gave this show a shot. Well-acted, produced, directed. Working with that adorable little boy must have been so much fun for the two dad actors.

But...I'm interested in the mom showing up. I find it very hard to believe they've been together for years, are married and have a child by surrogacy and one of their moms doesn't even know they are a couple. That is really sad, and why would you not tell her, no matter how much of a witch she is? At least then she can't say she didn't know that she has a grandson whose life she is missing out on being a part of. Or maybe she is really sweet and there is some other reason they haven't told her. Strikes me as highly implausible, but I guess I'm about to find out...here we go...episode 2!
