You might be a weirdo. It's "curse," not "course." Think about that remedial English course you've been putting off. You mangle the language with every comment.
Wow, I don't get that TK is "dumb" at all. He strikes me as brilliantly intelligent, so much so that he doesn't…
No, you didn't "know it." You had me pegged just as much as a European. liar, liar pants on fire. :) I am smart and mature. It's sad you consider that an insult. So where are the studies backing up your many claims about Korean teens, etc.? Links, please.
I'm rooting for Sui Muk/Tim big time! But I totally get what you are saying about Kenny Wong's portrayal of KK…
I agree that overall this version is much better than the Japanese original. I wish you hadn't told me about Tin/Sui Muk, but oh well, I will survive knowing the outcome. lol It's probably Karma from the couple of times I've let spoilers slip. What I remember from the original is that Tin almost MARRIED KK, but chickened out at the ceremony. I couldn't remember what came after that. I thought he had announced his relationship with Maki to the entire office, at which time Maki did a 180 degree turn and broke things off, which is what I didn't find plausible. I guess I'm remembering incorrectly.
Oh boy...here we go again: YOU have decided one of them is a bad actor so of course, that's just the way it is.…
Where do you live, J00? Have you had one of these miserable, hard lives you talk about? I live in the USA, where I was born. I had no say in the matter. If I could afford it I would move to Europe or Canada, as this country is full of nut-jobs. Just look at how close the election was to get rid of Trump, even after four years of his disastrous administration. I'd consider Japan, but as much as I love SHINee and a couple of other K-Pop acts, Korea is far too conservative/schizophrenic and culturally backward for me to ever live there. Suicide capital of the developed world for a reason.
Oh boy...here we go again: YOU have decided one of them is a bad actor so of course, that's just the way it is.…
blah blah blah. So you think teenagers like the privileged ones attending an exclusive private high school in this series, have had a "hard" life? lol
Also, please provide links to these studies you claim to know of that support your broadly general claims. Providing links to Internet proofs of one's position is a common thing, you know. Also, please work on your English spelling and grammar. It's embarrassing. If you are going to use a language you ought to know it first. Maybe everything you're saying is brilliant and true, but your writing is so awful that you seem to be a simpleton. Yes, perhaps that is it...

lol I just got blocked this evening by a former MDL "friend" who gradually became my nemesis. He increasingly, and condescendingly, lectured me on the nuances of sexual assault and just lately obliquely accused me of being racist. You know, all those fun things it's hard to defend yourself against being called, once it's thrown out there. Good riddance.
One caveat to my almost total love for this series: Does it seem unrealistic to anyone else that with Tin being shipped this, that and the other way with various people, the issue of whether he is anything other than completely straight does not seem to have been addressed at all. Early one we had him screaming out that he liked "women with big chests" but obviously he's been pulled some other directions since then yet I haven't caught any development in his thinking along those lines. It seems like he'd be wondering about it a LOT. He wonders about OTHERS being attracted to him, but not, seemingly, vice versa. Feel free to point out where I'm off on this.
I still love you Siu Muk, but not me over here rooting for KK to be with Tin, unlike the Japanese version. I just…
I'm rooting for Sui Muk/Tim big time! But I totally get what you are saying about Kenny Wong's portrayal of KK in this version. He was a little creepy in the beginning, but even then there were times I felt for him and found/find him more than a little sexy. The japanese actor/character was icky. Do we really know who Tin is going to end up with? If I remember the original version correctly, I certainly hope they went another direction here. I didn't buy any of that and thought it was downright weird.
Edan Lui is a genius. Anson Lo is an angel. Kenny Wong is wonderful. Every single role is well-cast and very-well acted. It's a slap-stick comedy with loads of very moving, touching moments. I've been brought to tears by interactions between Tin/KK, Tin/Siu Muk, Tin/his female best friend, and various other combinations of characters. So many well-earned feels lurking around that the comedy becomes just that much more hilarious. The relationship between KK and Francesca is nothing short of relavatory; their affection for each other transcends romance; it is the sort of love most of us only wish for in our lives. They are really, truly FRIENDS who love and care deeply for each other. I have one of these relationships in my own life, so I know what I'm talking about. Not every former wife/lover has to be portrayed as a vindictive, bitter shrew bent on revenge, though Francesca had her early moments in that arena. lol
This show has what all my favorite BLs/gay movies/gay series have - a big heart at their centers.
And finally, how can anyone at this point be shipping anyone but Tin/Siu Muk? They are perfection together. I certainly hope this version takes another plot direction than did the Japanese original.

Are you kidding? MY rants go on far longer than that. lol J100 was informing me yesterday how all American teens mature much slower than Korean teens and that's why I, being an immature American teen, couldn't figure out that TK in Light on Me is "dumb." Little does it know that I am older than the Earth itself. It also considers itself a spokesperson for two separate Korean groups: Teenagers and the entire population as a whole. :)
Cute and lovely. It's a pity though that the story is very very cliché (to the point you have no "real surprise"...)…
You've watched three short eps. Isn't it a little soon to say the show is cliche' and lacking in surprises, or that the characters are one-dimensional?
Couldn't they find younger actors to play schoolboys? Or at least move the whole story to a uni setting or something?…
Someone else said this very thing, and I disagree entirely. They appear to me no older than in other high school-set BLs. Don't get the problem. Also have no idea what you're talking about in your last sentence either....there is plenty of acting going on. Perhaps you're used to the amateurish, over-acting found in so many lower-quality BLs.
this show is just... perfection.every character is so likeable and relatable in their own way, I'm really enjoying…
I agree! I don't find TK to be a "blank slate" either. He is somewhat low-affect, I've even wondered if he is supposed to be a little bit on the Asperger's spectrum. But blank? No. We heard him thinking out in his head, in the first minutes of the first ep, why it was that he behaved as he did. He's never been a robot lacking personality.
Tae Kyung and Shin Woo.Isn't it fun not to have it all telegraphed early on with the two boys "accidentally kissing"…
Well...there WAS that little accidental dildo-up-the-butt thing in the hallway in the first episode. They definitely locked eyes...and then argued about whether or not and how far it "went in..." lol
"Is this show good? Or does it just have great production value?"My ADHD brain is struggling with this one. We're…
I like this show a lot. To me, I don't get a lot from TK because he is almost on the Asperger's spectrum, with generally low affect and doesn't adhere to most people's idea of social norms and expectations. Which is why he asks people straight-out why they behave certain ways or if someone asks him a question about a personal thing, he doesn't attempt to be "diplomatic," he just blurts out what he thinks. But I find him to be an engaging character and like him a lot. He seems to be growing rapidly (see his rush to come to the aid of Shinwoo when he was being confronted by thugs; I don't think he would have done that when this show began. He wouldn't have gotten involved.) and I think there is a lot to be learned from his perspective on society. For instance, we're learning that Daon's habit of being "nice" to EVERYONE all the time is not necessarily always a good thing.
Trudge forward! I enjoy this series a lot, and I'm glad I know nothing about the dating sim on which people say it's based. A movie or a series or a play is what I see and hear RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, not just another reproduction of exactly what it was in some other completely different medium. In fact, most live dramatizations of stories from other media are just that-BASED ON-not strictly limited to, what went before. More often than not, live dramas add to, take away from, and go off in all sorts of other directions from the media which inspired them, and to the live-action story by what we know of the original form is a big mistake and sets us up for disappointment. I prefer to read books AFTER I've seen a movie or series based on them. Then I'm not expecting things one way or another.
From what I've read about this dating SIM, wouldn't the characters all just be like robots in the beginning, lacking personalities entirely? That would be exciting! Not. There may be a touch of that in TK's character but to make an entire series based on a SIM?...boredom city.
