I'm too lazy to go back and research it myself, but I believe the subs I saw had him saying something like "don't move or you'll touch it..." lol And that was the extent of the rape-drug's effect on him. What a farce.

I like the way KK is portrayed in this one much better than the original. He's less creepy, and more handsome and I actually feel badly for him at times, which makes the whole Tin/KK thing more moving. I feel sympathy for him instead of revulsion. lol

Oh, don't misunderstand me, I'm not telling you not to use the term or what to say about anything. I hate it when people police my speech so I don't do it to others. It was just an honest question because the term "Jap" is such a loaded descriptive in the U.S. where I live and you never hear it here any more. It's almost considered as bad as the N-word here. But I have read other commenters use "Jap" here and I began to figure they and you were Asian and it's not a negative word there. It's very interesting., the way word usage and meaning changes over time and place. :)

This was really well-done, interesting, funny and a little bromantic which is always nice. Would love to see more episodes of this and watch the developing relationship between the two investigators.

What's sad is there is so much truth to the underlying pressures this series portrayed being felt even by high school kids in Korea, where social pressure regarding such things as college admissions, test scores and everything related to that, is insanely intense. I have no doubt that if such a pill existed, kids there would kill to get it. The director's abusive, mocking, insulting behavior is played somewhat for laughs but I see this in MANY Korean films...there's this vicious, hostile, belligerent edge to much of the dialogue between characters, even family members when things don't go just there way or a child disappoints them. I don't know any Korean, but that extra upward syllable they add to the end of sentences when they are insulting each other is so antagonistic and clear in its implications: You are a piece of shit and should die. I don't hear this in any other Asian language.

Korea is the suicide capital of the industrialized world. Young, middle-aged, old, all categories of people kill themselves at amazing rates because of various cultural pressures. Kids don't get into the right school, they lose a job, they get a pay-cut, there's a divorce, they don't want to be a burden to their family in old age, people abuse them on social media, for all these reasons and more, Koreans jump off buildings more often than anywhere else on the globe. At the same time, seeking mental health treatment is stigmatized as a sign of weakness, so options for help are limited. It's really quite horrible and this little show does a good job in a short time of show-casing just one example of the problem.

I'm shipping Tin/Siu Muk big-time. :) It seemed a little silly for Siu Muk to blame himself for you know what.…
Even more oddly, the script had Siu Muk falling for Darren as they worked together at the office, as if Darren's bright personality, winning looks and charm just won him over all by themselves. Please. And did I hallucinate or didn't the script have Darren sort of pursuing Tin a couple of eps ago? Now that seems to be a distant memory.

The whole Darren/son/badminton thing felt shoved into the script to me. Seriously, what kind of a heartless bastard treats their own child like that? I don't care what your twisted reasoning is, that alone made Darren into a monster in my eyes. And then it was all resolved in a dash to the school, and now it's over. I don't get what the Darren/son thing had to do with anything else in the story. If they want to fill time, I'd rather they flesh out Sui Muk's back story some more. The fact that he had been with Darren actually brings him down a few notches in my eyes. I kept picturing them having sex and it wasn't a pretty picture. :D

I like this one better, but maybe I need to rewatch the original after this one and then decide. By the way, is it ok to say "Jap" now? Or is that just a verboten word in the U.S.? That's what the U.S. government and civilians called the Japanese during WWII and it was used in a very derogatory manner, so maybe it's only here that it has fallen out of usage. I remember using the word though when we were kids in the 60s and 70s.

Finally Tin settled things with KK. Now I’m interested in seeing Siu Muk and Tin’s relationship develop!
Not so fast! Unfortunately...I don't think things are going to be that easy. For one thing don't forget the pounding hearts/BL body slam at the restaurant/pub. :)

Lol why am I laughing at the broken heart bokeh effect when tin was rejecting his boss HAHAHAHHA
I like that the show throws in lots of little touches like that which I find both extremely touching and ridiculously cheesy/hilarious at the same time. Like KK's theatrics...I laughed AND felt bad for him at the same time. That's pretty hard to pull off.

Oh, and I find the entire Darren thing implausible. Darren, with that hideous hairdo and odd little mustache, is not believable as a gay lothario.

Episode 6 before reading comments:

The Darren/Sui Muk things seems forced and out of left field to say the least.
I love this show overall. Edan Lui is like a 21st century Asian Charlie Chaplin. I adore him.
Sometimes I find KK daddy-hot and other times a little repulsive. That's probably right where the director wanted the character to land. I enjoy Kenny Wong's acting too.
The relationship between KK and Francesca seems authentic, even at this weird place. I completely believe in their mutual care for each other, despite what's going on.
The badminton thing was heart-warming but again, where the hell did all that come from? And why?
Darren DID seem to be flirting with Tin last couple of eps, so what was THAT about too?

Anyway...overall enjoy the show and look forward to every episode. A breath of fresh air in the somewhat currently stale BL atmosphere following the wrap-up of I Promised You the Moon. Not much out there right now.

Hi Magic. blofficial.com says its episode 8 English subs are "updating..." whatever that means. So should be soon there. I don't know...maybe blofficial.com is NOT a pirate site. Once I get to the shows there are no ads at all there so I don't know. Guess I'll do some online sleuthing. There's also gcinee.com, but that is pop-up city so it must be a pirate site, but it also links to some shows on blofficial.com. Oh dear...it's all so confusing. :D

For better or worse, I watch a lot of my BL material on blofficial.com which, judging from its massive number of pop up ads, is a pirate site. It is $5 a month and has tons of BL stuff. God, if you pay $5 for every streaming service that wants to charge, you'd be paying hundreds a month for entertainment.

Wow. This is terrible. I got about 2/3 into the first episode and realized I had tried this series before and ran screaming into the night. I don't care how many cute boys you stack up in the cast, when the dialogue, acting and vibe is this amateur and uninteresting and trope-y, I can't bear it.

I assume this is a classic example of a BL meant for teen girls, which explains the cutesy vibe. Not for me. To those of you who enjoy this...enjoy!

BTW, why in the hell is everyone wearing heavy sweaters in Thailand? There must be a sweater company endorsement deal behind the wardrobe choices here. These people would die of heat stroke in the real world.

Believe it! But remember the "rape" freaks are a tiny minority of the audience whose members can't discern between…
In regard to your statement about this not being an issue if it were a straight drama is SO true. For some reason, BL has attracted an annoying and vocal following of Social Justice Warriors/Church Ladies who go ballistic at the slightest hint of non-PC behavior among BL series/movie characters. They want to control and change the shows they could just stop watching and go away from...it's bizarre. They apply an entirely different standard of content to BLs than to anything else. Even more weirdly, the fact is that Manga/Yaoi/BL has ALWAYS featured a lot of transgressive/aggressive/kinky/rapey/pervy sexual aspects, so what are these SJWs even doing watching this stuff?

This SJW/BL phenomenon is actually fascinating. I wish I had the time to research and write a long-form piece about where this comes from and why.

I thought I was the only one who felt that everything abt this series is going badly, I loved the first half of…
I agree. Ruk went from straight dude to "I love you, IG" with almost zero portrayal of how he got there. Even IG went from straight to gay without exposition of any kind. They both just kind of said "OK, now I'm gay and I love you" out of the blue. So IG is kissing Ruk in front of the whole town at the festival ("Car Parade?" wtf?) without any concern that Ruk's dad is homophobic and doesn't know Ruk is into dudes, let alone that BOTH of his sons are into dudes, and it might be a good idea to tell him before coming out publicly, but whatever.

The two endless song sequences were pure filler and embarrassing. The poor actor playing IG cannot sing, he can barely carry the tune, and the songs themselves were horrible: "you go down to the market to sell chicken necks with your mom...?" "later you change to selling clothes..." lol The lyrics were so stupid it was breathtaking. So all the extras acting like the song was awesome and IG was the best song writer and singer ever was just...freakish in its stupidity.

Looks like there's some good drama coming up in episode 8 though, which I have not found with English subs yet.

If you don't like it, stop watching. It's just a very practical suggestion, especially in light of your "I am just done with BL" comment above. So if you are done with BL, go away. Just because I tell you to do something doesn't mean you HAVE to do it, you know. I get to have an opinion also: and my opinion is that you should stop watching BLs.

I just watched episode #7...I think. Is 8 already out? Maybe 8 was mis-labeled as 7.

Anyway...someone please shoot me. What a cringe-fest from beginning to end. Thank god most of the actors are cute and I adore little Ruk, because everything else about this show has gone to hell.

The entire first half with everyone pretending that horrible song IG wrote and sang at the house was fabulous and that he is a great singer was just embarrassing as hell. He can't sing and the song sucks. And THAT'S what's going to save their family and finances? lol
It's like the writers ran out of plot ideas so they devoted half the run-time to awful songs being sung while people danced around pretending they were great. ugh.
I thought Ruk wasn't even sure he was gay, let alone gay for IG, but all of a sudden...lol, please bitch.
God, this was so bad...Nitiman levels of bad.
But I did love when the one dude caught the cute one who's crushing on him playing "dress up" by himself and told him he looked pretty with that flower in his hair. I melted. How fucking sweet was t hat? And the rest of that scene was totally adorable.
I hate the grandma, ever since she slapped the shit out of IG for no good reason and then HE apologized to HER for the fact that she slapped him...wtf??

Anyway...little Champ as Ruk is my main reason to watch this horrendously bad story.
