"BL Karens." BRAVO! lol Perfect description. Love it.
Well, "I Promised You the Moon" is non-PC and completely awesome. BL Karens came unglued over the most crucial plot twist/development. If you haven't watched it and its prequel "I Told Sunset About You," run, do not walk, to watch both of them.
I'll have to think through what I've watched of late that took some risks. A lot of stuff has been very tame as well. May I have your permission to use "BL Karens" as a descriptor for the SJWs and PC Police around here? :)
The Effect is a drama in which r*pe is a plot point, it addresses the harm and the reality of it. And in the drama…
If you think rape is a consistent problem within the "BL community," whatever the hell that is, then stop watching BLs. Many of the online novels and mangas on which many of these series have been based include all kinds of aggressive sexual situations, rape and otherwise; twisted sex stuff has always been a staple of BLs, so stop watching them.
When I quit watching various BLs or gay-themed movies I NEVER have gone to the coordinating page here to leave and negative review and bitch about how I think the show should be changed and this and that should NEVER happen, blah blah blah. I just go away. You and your kind however, want to effect and restrict the content of shows you claim to not like, though often you people watch entire series while also claiming to be deeply offended by them, which is laughable.
Do you really believe there has NEVER been a case IRL where a person fell in love with their rapist? Do you actually believe this has never happened? I'm sure it has happened many thousands of times over the centuries. If it is part of human behavior then it is fair game for drama. You want all rapists in BLs to be punished. Guess what? In real life, rapists get away with it not infrequently. Do you want that banned from fictional stories too? Sometimes the person who was raped doesn't WANT the rapist punished; why that would be would make for a great drama, it seems to me. A drama you could choose to stay away from.
You SJWs are obsessed with what you think others should be allowed to see/hear/observe. Mind your own business.

Problematic shit is what makes BLs great and I agree, the more they go PC on us, the more boring the shows are going to be. However, there have been several in the last six months that included some nice, non-PC material. Jesus, BLs are based on all kinds of twisted sexual themes in the original novels on which many of them are based. That's what makes them intriguing and hot. I hope show-makers stop paying attention to these SJW whiners.
But back to the weenie-washing, that did actually happen, it was just kind of odd the way Sky ordered Sun to lay still and obviously proceeded, but how could that happen without some pretty obvious reactions from Sun's weenie, if you know what I mean and I think you do. It's in the scene where the BL trope bed-bath takes place. Let me know what you think.
I liked this very much. Despite, or maybe because of, its makers' lame efforts to toe the Chinese Bromantic line, the two guys at the center of this story are very clearly in love with each other. Normally, I don't have the patience to put up with the bromantic hogwash, but this couple was cute, had real chemistry and I actually enjoyed the shooting team story line. So I just decided OK, this is a BL, these dudes are falling in love and the only reason they won't smooch or confess or have sex is because of Chinese tight-assedness, and I know what they are up to OFF-camera, so I'll just use my imagination. The affection in their eyes when they looked at each other and in their physical interaction made things clear. They even went so far as to have the one guy ALMOST come to the other in his bedroom that night the beans were spilled. It was obvious what he had on his mind. I just figure they'll get down to it in my imagination.
I do wonder how long the Chinese government will keep up this ridiculous ban on openly-told gay stories; it's really insane, the game show-makers play with the censors. It's all wink-wink, let-s pretend gay people don't exist but allow shows where it's right there in your face but under the radar if you don't want to see it. It's really quite twisted.

I've read some very wise words attributed to him over the years online. So...were his movies originally filmed and recorded IN Chinese or some other language then dubbed into Chinese? Do you speak Chinese?
You know, I would almost always rather read subtitles over original sound/dialogue; is there anything more sure to ruin a movie than cheesy dubbing? BUT there is this one Netflix original series filmed in Spain that is dubbed into English and they do an unbelievably good job. It's a high-end raunchy soap opera set in a rich-kids private high school called "Elite." Someday I want to read up on how that is accomplished, how much the voice-over actors are paid, etc. I've never spoken anything but English (typical spoiled American) and most of the time I don't even notice the dubbing because not only does the English translation so closely match the mouth movements, but the actors' inflections, emotions, volume, everything is so freaking natural it's amazing. I'm sure they must rehearse over and over and over to get it right. Fascinating.

Oh, I've definitely seen Bruce Lee, just never sat still for more than ten minutes of one of his flicks. Definitely not my thing. The SE Asian torso is my thing, but yeah, Lee's was too unnatural for my taste. That zero body-fat, every tendon and sinew visible beneath the skin kind of thing is gross. Boat's body is much nicer.
Yeah, this is one of the best BLs ever. Feels like a feature film in installments to me.
I totally loved the Japanese version too, but have only seen it once. Without going back to watch again, off the top of my head, I believe the Hong Kong version is the better of the two. There were a couple of late-story plot developments in the original that didn't ring true to me as well. I'm interested to see where this version goes.
The step-brothers story was every bit as weighted as the other; this show featured TWO main couples. The hotel…
It's nice that you hold that opinion. Doesn't make it a fact.
Lots of drunk people have sex every day. Are those all rapes? I remember hearing the drunk brother tell the other that he loved him, I remember the drunk brother pulling the other to him and initiating a kiss, I remember the drunk brother responding physically to a BJ. He was not being held down by force, he was fully participating in something he wanted to happen. What if the other brother had been drunk too? Would it still be classified as rape in your Little Book of All You Need To Know About Rape?
Totally drunk = hot, romantic, passionate sex with inhibitions lowered. Go preach somewhere else, Church Lady.
You DO know this is a BL, right? And that it is fiction, right? And a comedy...right?I guess you don't...
To me, and just my opinion of course, we're talking about two different things. In general, a fujoshi is a woman who is in love with the idea of two men/boys together as a romantic couple. Male/male love just warms their hearts and makes them squeal and have moist feelings all over themselves. I don't think it's all that sexual, if at all sexual.
Then you have straight women who enjoy the company of gay men in general and may, from time to time, find themselves crushing on a gay dude or even falling in love with a gay guy, though of course there is no future in this for obvious reasons. I can think of three women in my life who fit this behavior model. It's a thing.
So yeah, from a comedic writer's point of view, it would be fun to develop a plot wherein a straight man wants to pursue/date a straight fujoshi and decides that meeting her first and allowing her to think he is gay and half of a possible gay couple, would be a good idea. That way, she can get to know him as a person first, and he can get to know her and hopefully she starts having feelings for him and then he says "whoa...guess what? I'm having feelings for you too! Guess I'm only a little gay!" And then they become a romantically involved straight couple. Make sense?
You DO know this is a BL, right? And that it is fiction, right? And a comedy...right?I guess you don't...
I didn't say "some straight women have a habit of falling in love with MEN," now did I. I specifically said they fall in love with GAY men, and that is what I meant. So no, I guess I won't tell you what you are "please" asking me to say. Your question is kind of...odd.

I'm more than a tad sarcastic myself; some would suggest I could even be termed a smart-ass; far be it from me to judge. I'll check out the bts video; sounds fun. I can't imagine the roles switched, but anything's possible. Boat is a handsome man, but I like my Asian men with lots of Asian in them. Boat looks almost completely Caucasian to me. His torso should have its own series though.
Edan Liu should get an Oscar for this performance. This series is one of my top ten favorite BLs of any genre, comedic or dramatic. Every aspect of it is top-notch and Edan is truly a comedic genius, a rare and talented man. Bravo!
I think people have a bit of a double standard about these things. It would be a problem if Sun did the same thing,…
Nah, don't have to be sorry on my account. I like weenie-washing and all kinds of stuff in BLs that piss off the SJWs. I just don't get how Sky could wash Sun's weenie without some serious action ensuing. It's kind of weird that that didn't go anywhere...cut to next scene.
What is the link to those two pictures supposed to be about? Neither you or the page provide any context or information…
Yeah, yeah, yeah...you were going to explain...you've provided no context for any of your accusations and provided nothing to show that this series is in any way racist. Typical self-righteous do-gooder whose talk is very, very cheap. You won't be watching this show anymore of course, right? Right?
