What is the link to those two pictures supposed to be about? Neither you or the page provide any context or information…
The pictures you linked to are presented in no context whatsoever and there is no story or text or video along with it, so ummm...how are we supposed to know what is going on there? Do you have information you are choosing to withhold? If so, why?

Is there a white supremacist somewhere who's trying to annoy you? Why would you laugh at them and the generations of trauma they caused? Are YOU a white supremacist? Cause that would explain your laughter. Or are you a Black or brown person? If not, do you claim to speak for them?

White supremacists certainly annoy me, but I save my annoyance for the ones who actually exist and do and say bad things. Equating skin-lightening creams with slavery and colonization actually kind of makes a mockery of the latter two; is that what you meant to do?

Where in this series was dark skin "mocked?" Why are you being so vague and imprecise in your accusations? What scene, what dialogue?

I think people have a bit of a double standard about these things. It would be a problem if Sun did the same thing,…
You know I'm kidding...right? Just curious though: Why would they think it was a problem if Sun did it? Or are YOU kidding too? :D

You know, now that I think about it, Sky is the employer/Young Master here, and thus in a position of power and authority over Sun, which brings into play all kinds of issues of sexual-harassment, workplace sexual intimidation, not to mention the whole "Me-too" movement since Sun's freshly-washed weenie can now say "hey, Me Too!"

thank yyouuuu for pointing this out..yall are glossing over it a little too quickly
lol I know, right? It's just horrible. I can't believe the way weenie-washing was romanticized in that scene and everyone is apparently OK with it? wtf?

It's already "bad." It's just bad in a BL way that you're comfortable with. I'm watching to look at Gun's lips…
Oh I agree. But I have a soft spot for Gun since LBC and his amazing lips, and Boat is very nice to look at, especially with his shirt off. :D The show has its moments other than that; the side couple is fun and has nice chemistry. Yeah, so its positives outweigh its negatives for me so far. Actually, the fight scenes aren't half-bad, as BLs go, but the comic book character bad guys make me laugh. I mean if the guy attacking Gun in the John wants him dead, why doesn't he, you know....KILL HIM, instead of slapping him around to give Sun time to come to the rescue? lol

Our tastes are very different. The only one of the BLs you listed that I liked much is Trapped. To each their own.

Where are the SJWs screaming that Sky sexually assaulted Sun when Sun didn't want Gun to wash his weenie but Gun went ahead and did it anyway? I found that really inappropriate, problematic, rapey, sexual assault-ish, disrespectful of all weenies everywhere and generally extra, super-double problematic again. Did I mention problematic?

Why not just watch BLs you've seen before that present the same tropes and cliches in the same way? Why watch another one that's just the same? New faces?

Yeah, I've never related to the "shut my brain off" thing that people mention liking to do. I LOVE silly and fun, but I want even that to be more than just a rehash of what I've seen before. Beautiful example: OSSAN'S LOVE - THE HONG KONG VERSION, currently airing. It is a slapstick, broad and hysterically funny show that feels like a multi-installment feature film, such is the high quality. That show is a remake, sometimes scene for scene of the original Ossan's Love, but it feels entirely fresh, new and laugh out loud funny. Please check it out. Meanwhile, to me, that show is doing as a comedy what this show is failing at as a drama.

Oh, back to shutting off your brain. You have to be only shutting off part of your brain, or you wouldn't even know what is going on in the show, and I guess you're shutting off your memory so that when you see all these old tropes and cliches you'll think they are new or something.

Oh well...you enjoy it your way and I'll keep looking at Gun's lips and Boat's bod.

Hundreds of thousands of us don't think that was sexual assault so be concerned for all of us, not me. Meanwhile, we don't care about your concern; redirect it and get yourself some counseling. You are as uptight as a puckered butthole about sex.

No idea what "Chengren outsold" is supposed to mean, as you offer no information, background or context for that phrase. Is that some BL insider thing?

The Effect is a drama in which r*pe is a plot point, it addresses the harm and the reality of it. And in the drama…
YOU say there was a rape in this story. Thousands of us say there was no rape at all. There's no sense rehashing that debate as it's been had for months in the comments. So are you saying show-makers should have to run their rape story lines past a Fictional Rape Review Committee which will decide if the alleged rape is presented in a proper way and if the consequences and punishments doled out as a result of the rape are in accordance with rules and regulations governing such things. Will you be writing these rules and regs? If not, who? I have an idea: If you don't like a show's handling of rape or any other plot point, STOP WATCHING IT and go away.

You say YJ and XS's story line was "terrible." Hundreds of thousands of other viewers, including myself, think it was a wonderful, inspiring, challenging, thought-provoking and love-affirming story line. Do you REALLY see their hotel sexual encounter "initiating" their relationship? Their relationship had been developing for years...the hot, sexy, romantic, drunken hotel scene simply brought out into the open what was already there. See how that works? Other people interpret the same material differently than you. Shocked?

I regularly stop watching BLs that bore me or annoy me or have bad acting or whatever. Why don't you do the same and let other people enjoy what they like?

This is certainly nothing great or terribly original, but I enjoy Gun very much, as I have since his portrayal of Techno in "Love By Chance. That upper lip that curls up and sideways when he smiles or smirks drives me crazy in a good way. His bodyguard is very pleasing to the eyes as well.

Are we really to believe that Young Master washed Sun's dinkus and this did not result in a massive boner? Unlikely to say the least.

Wow, I love this cheesefest. I hope it continues its trajectory, and doesn't suddenly get bad in the final act...…
It's already "bad." It's just bad in a BL way that you're comfortable with. I'm watching to look at Gun's lips and Boat's body but it continues to amaze and embarrass me for the creators at how comfortable they are with being totally and completely UNORIGINAL in almost every way. They don't bother to try to re-interpret tropes or cliches, or provide them from a new angle, they just give us the same old shit we've seen five hundred times and call it a day. They treat the audience like morons and some people eat it up.

This is why people are so hungry for BLs like ITSAY, IPYTM, History 4: Close to You, and a few others that take risks and/or present tropes with a sense of humor or a new point of view.

the channel behind this show is known for its racism and mockery of dark skin https://i.imgur.com/5XGaZxQ.jpgif…
What is the link to those two pictures supposed to be about? Neither you or the page provide any context or information whatsoever.

The channel behind this show is known for racism? Got some examples of that? Or are you just talking about the Thai, and generally Asian preference for lighter skin, which is a cultural thing, not a racist thing. It's the opposite of the USA used to be when it was cool to have the darkest tan possible, but now no one enjoys the idea of dying of skin cancer: Dark skin in Asia is/was associated with outdoor, manual labor in the sun/elements, which would result in darker skin. Wealthier, "higher-class" people did not work outdoors, thus it became a status symbol to have lighter skin and now it's evolved to just a cultural preference. My god, they've been advertising skin-lightening creams on BLs since they began. Where have you been? Suggesting free links? Jesus.

I'm Caucasian but I think I'll go buy some skin lightening cream thru this channel just to annoy you.

Li cheng & Teng leng, I love them, they are so cute!! But for the other couple...I skipped all their scenes as…
The step-brothers story was every bit as weighted as the other; this show featured TWO main couples. The hotel sex scene was hot and sexy and was not rape. Let it go. That scene was VERY romantic, partly because it was not rape.

good god, did you know two dudes can actually switch off and take turns boinking each other? There is no need for a permanent top and bottom. The show is poking fun at the BL obsession with that trope.

BRAVO! Well said, well written, beautifully reasoned. You'll make no headway with the SJW rape-fetishists here who can't let it go, but that's OK, they are lost to reason long ago. Long live hot, drunken, questionable, messy SEX!

Believe it! But remember the "rape" freaks are a tiny minority of the audience whose members can't discern between drama and reality.
