Holy shit. Just spent an hour watching YT videos of Edan Liu singing, dancing, playing the piano like a genius, playing the violin...what did I miss? This is a true Renaissance man. If all he could do was his outrageously hilarious comedic acting, that would be enough, but seriously, he is amazingly gifted in these other areas as well. Just search Edan Liu on YT and you will see/hear what I mean. My god.

I did like two of the songs/videos above that I watched.

You don't sound mean, you sound like someone who is incapable of being objective about a BL or a comedy or anything else made in Hong Kong. Since when is being a comedy and a BL mutually exclusive? "jfc?" jesus fucking christ?" I'm not sure, I'm not up on all the Internet abbreviations. I haven't stopped watching because I put in my time to episode 7 and since then I've been watching to see if it keeps getting worse or better...usually if I watch seven hours of something, I'm in it til the bitter end.

WTF do people dying and protesting have to do with whether or not this show is well-made? This show brought ME joy in the U.S. until episode 7 and we still have Trumpers claiming Covid is fake. So what? Does that make this show better or worse? And what does Tin's homophobia have to do with whether or not he and SM are actually a couple, which they are not, in any sense of the word? To me, it's just strange the way we're supposed to see them as a couple but they haven't even shared a willing, mutually-desired kiss. wtf?

So SM waking up and no Tin and SM has on the same clothes he had on when Darren came over is an "easter egg" because you said so? It's just a sad scene thrown in at the end for no reason whatsoever? Maybe you're right, but that's fucked up. What is the purpose of that. I thought Easter Eggs were cute things, not sad things. So that scene exists in its own separate universe, eh? hmmm...stupid.

Anyone else here seen the "prank" video X pulled on SS?

I'm not one quick to take offense at shit, but this seemed cruel and mean-spirited as hell to me. I think SS was really thinking it over and responding and now he is made to look a fool, and it's just pretty fucking mean. Worse, the damn video is STILL up on Youtube, all the more to humiliate SS. Take that fucking thing down, X!

I wrote the following in comments on Youtube, responding to a commenter who tried to justify the prank video by saying crap about X having "safeguards" in place, wtf?, and other staff members there, wtf?, all of it bullshit. I would guess X had one of his buddies write the comment or maybe he did himself...

"Totally disagree. You are trying very hard to make a very unprofessional and cruel one-sided joke sound like it was an OK thing, and it clearly was NOT. I don't think there's any doubt that SS was responding to this fake confession; you can feel it in the chemistry change between them, especially right before X pushes him down on the bed. And then he had to lay there feeling like a fool while the other three laughed at him like hyenas.

What are you going on about "safeguards?" You can't safeguard someone's heart and feelings from being hurt by a fake confession, no matter how many cameras or other people are around. In fact, all of that made it WORSE. Now X has shared SS's humiliation with the world. What a jerk. What is SS going to do? Be honest about his reaction to being made a fool of and possibly lose his spot as part of this team? You are kidding yourself.

The fact that X did NOT feel "he was putting undue pressure on or embarrassing SS in any way filming would have stopped..." is exactly the problem He is obviously not an emotionally intelligent or kind person, or he would have known before this started that it was a bad idea, whether SS had feelings for him or not. There were three people in on the joke, against ONE who was not and did not know he had a camera aimed at him. And then they all laughed at him like douche bags and put him on the spot to say "ok, yeah, it was cool...it was fine, I'm OK with it..." What else is he going to say if he wants to keep working as part of this team. I wish he would have punched X in the face and walked out.

It's a great song, but on the 50th listen it begins to wear thin, don't you agree?

Good acting all-round in episodes 3-4, especially from X. It is unfortunate that his character is made to look like more than a bit of a douche in the way he used and abused the feelings of that girl who agreed to meet with him, which was all just a setup to make SS jealous. X's sister comes off as not just a psycho Fujoshi, but a mean one at that, who abused a friend's trust. Look, I have no problem with assholes as characters in BLs or any other kind of drama, or with otherwise good people who pull asshole moves, BUT...just don't ask me to sympathize or empathize with them. He we have X AND the sister being complete selfish twats to that girl under the bridge, and then X pulls away when she hugs him and says "what are you doing?" Well, hell, she's doing what you set her up to do, fuck-face.

Is there some reason he and the crazy sister couldn't have just asked some OTHER girl, who doesn't have a crush on X, to put on an act with him under the bridge for their purposes, rather than use someone whose feelings are clearly going to be hurt? If so, please tell me what it is. Of course, the entire concept of the setup under the bridge is ridiculous anyway, as it is way more than clear that SS already has the hots for X. But I guess you have to do SOMETHING to have a story...this wasn't the way to go though.

It was funny how X's leather jacket disappeared when he was running after SS and his captors, and then re-appeared when he caught up with them. Get someone to pay attention to continuity! :D

Now that I know AL is a boy-band star in Hong Kong I give him a lot of credit for the balls to star as a gay character in a show made in a generally-still homophobic country/city.

I think it was. Tin was NOT there taking his temperature and he was in bed, alone, (not that that's anything new) in the same sweatshirt, pj bottoms and headband thing he had on when Darren dropped by to take care of him. I don't think there was any romantic trip to that town at all, let alone any spinning in circles together on a bridge while a drone camera films from overhead. Which means their relatiosnhip is so pathetic that the only kiss they've shared was one that took place in a dream SM had while he was sweating out a fever. lol This show is getting weirder and weirder.

This show headed south with ep 7 and keeps going that direction. Tin/SM do NOT have a relationship. They are barely friends. No hugging, no kissing, no sex, no sleeping together, no shared bedroom, no being out to the public and no real communication about anything intimate at all. Tin's not even sure he's gay or bi or wants to touch a dick...ever. Theres just nothing there and anyone who is pretending they think there is is kidding themselves. Tin and KK are just as much a couple as the other two.

And the cop-out ending to episode 11 confirms the downward spiral: IT WAS ALL A DREAM. How original.

I'll never understand cutting a show slack because of where it was made, or who directed it, or what the temperature was the day the last scene was filmed, or whether someone was in a boy band or whatever. None of that should matter at all. Either the show is good or it's not. Either the acting is good, bad or mediocre; it doesn't change because it was made in HK. Either it's funny or it's not. Either it's touching or it's not. Either it was well-produced or it wasn't. I loved this show with a passion and thought it was hysterical until episode 7 when it began to lose its way. It's been downhill since then.

I think this started heading south in the 7th episode. Why are Tin and SM in a "relationship" that includes...sleeping separately, not having sex, never kissing, one of them denying the other when he makes a big announcement at work...and on and on...? It's not believable and it's just as bad as the Japanese original in that respect. I had hoped this remake would improve on that regard but it is not to be.

Final insult: SM wakes up in bed alone at the end, the entire trip/date with his "boyfriend" Tin has been a fever dream. I don't read Tin as even knowing if he's gay, straight, or bi; he just goes along with whatever but never gets any action. He and SM have separate rooms. What's up with that?

I suppose I hope HK has LOTS more BLs too, but...why does that require ignoring stupid BL-cliche, gays-can't-be-happy plot devices? Isn't it a little bizarre that Tin annd SM decided they are a couple but they haven't even really kissed, they don't sleep together, they certainly do not have sex...THAT'S a romantic relationship? No, it's a stupid plot is what it is.
