It was pretty damn stupid, but it was more stupid in the sense that he didn’t have faith in Shou Yi and he thought…
The father we're being shown in this season is a completely different person than the one presented as a ruthless homophobe in the flash back. How do we know Shu Yi would have been heartbroken without his father's approval? I don't recall that being made clear. And as soon as Shu Yi found out what dad had done, he threatened to beat him up and kicked him out of the house.

I think it was dumb of Shi De too, however I think that he thought he had no chances because he thought Shu Yi…
But why would Shi De believe anything said by a father who was on a crusade to split them up?
Replying to sashaa Mar 19, 2021
If he really loved his son he would have allowed him to date whoever makes him happy.
Agree. It's a very conditional sort of love.

Last season we all thought the dad was involved so I was prepared to hate him, but why is he so likeable?? lol
Because, like in other instances in this series, the character behaves very inconsistently but there is no basis presented for WHY he has changed. Yes, it doesn't even seem like the same person who so dramatically and threateningly confronted Shi De in that flashback; it's as though they are a set of twins,, one good, one evil. Maybe THAT will turn out to be a plot device in this season. lol

Not one for long posts but here we go.Okay, so i was reading on twitter and stuff and ppl were calling shide an…
If you start out coming to the parents with a gay relationship that they are going to disapprove of and not accept anyway, why would you concern yourself with their issues regarding socio-economic status? Shi De explicitly said "if I live up to one condition of a deal, you will just come up with another one" to the father. There was no reason to believe anything the dad said, and yet Shi De just walked away and turned his back on Shu Yi . It makes no sense, makes Shi De seem like a complete wimp and totally undermines the idea that Shi De ever really loved Shu Yi in the first place. TOTALLY incongruous with the character behaviors and personalities in the first season.

And THEN...the two HAPPEN to meet up five years later, remember it's not as though Shi De sought Shu Yi out, he expects to make a few arrogant and then drunken pleas and be forgiven. Ugh. what a mess.

Ok, before criticize Shi De, let's sit a moment and think about what this episode told us.First, Shu Yi go to…
BUT...do we KNOW that Shu Yi actually DID give his phone to his father and change his number? Or did the father just flash a broken cell phone at Shi De and tell him Sh Yi did this? Did Shi Di attempt to find out? Did he attempt to contact Shu Yi to verify this? Or did he just take the word of a man who would clearly say or do anything to keep them apart? Your comment, in its attempt to spread the blame around, just makes clear how unrealistically and irrationally the script forces these characters to behave. In the age of quick and easy communication, this plot makes no sense.

Also, would you walk up to your lover who has ghosted you for six months and make a scene while he's with some blonde woman and a baby who he has clearly spent time with? However, yes, Shu Yi COULD have texted or called Shi De at that point, spelling out what he saw and asking what the hell was going on? He didn't. Just one MORE inexplicable character choice.

For me this is always the problem when a "Season Two" follows an outstanding Season One. It's so rare that a sequel…
FreshKicks, your last sentence is a really articulate summation of how I feel too. However, the most irritating factor is that the writers/director don't even seem to have really TRIED to present this story in an original, heartfelt way. They knew exactly what they were doing when they put this second season together and apparently they didn't care how it came out one way or the other. But WHY would professionals behave in such a manner? How can it be good for their reputations and resumes to have produced this tired, cliched...thing? That's the mystery to me.

This season in general MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHINGLin Pei Yu was probably pretty drunk when writing this script...
Shhh...you're not supposed to mention anything about cast or crew being drunk during production, as that's a totally cool thing. lol Drunk-writing, like drunk-acting, however, would explain a LOT. Lin Pei Yu probably cashed their check after last season and wrote this by drinking margaritas on the beach in Cozumel while dictating the script to a member of the wait-staff who scrawled it on a pile of cocktail napkins, half of which were then vomited on and thrown away. That would account for the many plot holes! The napkins which would have filled them are in a land-fill in Cozumel!
On We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Mar 19, 2021
Sad.
Watching this series stresses me out, not because of the plot which now has zero mystery or interest, but because at least four of the actors are talented and charismatic and I so badly want their talents put to use in service of a worthy production. I find myself pulling for the show to do them justice. But the plot, writing and direction are so awful and unoriginal that that urge is frustrated at every point.

So...

Shi De basically accomplished in ten minutes now what he could have accomplished in ten minutes 5 years earlier. All he had to do after five years was what he could have done back then.

Shi De continues to mope around as if the five-year delay should be, like, no big deal, dude, what's your problem? Sadly, this reminds me of the horrendously bad sequel to "My Bromance" in which a guy, under pressure from his dad (original!), allowed his beloved to think him DEAD for five years, and then was bummed out when the lover reacted negatively to news of his resurrection.

Shi De told Shu Yi's dad he believed that if he met his conditions regarding Shu Yi, he knew the dad would just keep moving the goal posts. So then he went ahead and agreed to the conditions anyway.

Shu Yi quickly came down with a mystery ailment which had him staggering around the house with an upset stomach. Shi De to the rescue with a trip to hospital and the purchase of "medicines." I was surprised there was no fever followed by an in-bed sponge bath. All VERY original BL plot devices.

I find myself, liberated of any interest in Shi De's and Shu Yi's ludicrous story, suddenly a bit interested in the Asperger's guy and his ex/not-ex. I like that they have chemistry despite their significant physical differences, and their story itself has caught my attention. Which brings us to the other silly BL plot device: the cut finger or bruised face of one half of the couple tended to with the contents of the ever-ready first-aid kit by the other half. Original!

Oh well... maybe it's all worth it just to hear the glory of Sam's deep, resonant, sexy voice. Wow. Every time he speaks I get wet. :D
After ep. 10:

I hope they paid Mew and Gulf a lot of money to drag this rancid corpse of a script around and smear its viscera all over their acting resumes. God, this thing is pretty damn bad. I'm kind of embarrassed for those two. I consider Mew to be a fine actor, but this script and direction is so bad, what can he really do by himself other than deposit the check and try to forget it ever happened? I feel like I watch Gulf make the same faces and say the same lines over and over and over again.

Leo's the hottest of this group. Looks like a young, Asian Johnny Depp. Fiat's the worst actor: I never heard so much weeping and wailing with not a tear in sight. I wish they would have developed Techno's character and shown us more of him rather than use him purely as the comic relief. Somehow, during all this silliness and mega-drama to this point, Champ became my favorite character. He's sweet and loyal and responsible, cares about his friends and has a great bod. I would have brought Champ and Techno together as a couple since everyone in this show is gay anyway.

What's up with everyone in those big, baggy shirts, half tucked and half out? I guess there's a cross-promotional deal with some men's fashion brand.

What else...love that Thanya's this huge movie star but spends all her time at her parents home. lol Thorn continues to creep me out with his obsession with his sister. yikes.

OK...on to Ep. 11!
Just finished ep. 8.
Was hoping things would improve, but we seem headed downhill in terms of the plot, writing, everything. Which is too bad because Tharn and Type as characters and their relationship as an interplay had so much going for it in Season 1. I can think of all sorts of interesting directions things could have gone. But dull side-couples devoid of spark, bad acting and a seeming lack of character growth from Tharn and Type make this a predictable snooze-fest. Especially since we know they end up together anyway.

The oddest aspect is Leo/Fiat. Bad acting aside, apparently they are "just friends" who lay on the couch on top of each other, wake in the morning cuddled up in each other's arms and sort of weirdly flirt at times, but Fiat keeps going after Type and seems oblivious to the obvious yearnings coming from Leo. Why anyone would go after Type is beyond me as he is always grumpy and borderline nasty, and not in a cute way.

So Tharn flew back from what was to have been a two-week business trip on the first night because he saw a posted photo of Type drunk at the bar? Why would Type get wasted when it was clear what that kid was up to? SO many plot holes. It's like someone wrote this on the fly while focused on some other project.
End of ep. 6.
Pretty much a let-down. Type hasn't learned in seven years that Tharn's greatest joy is to be with him and to do things for him. Over and over again, he meets Tharn's eager, happy offers of rides to and from work, snacks, you name it and Thype comes back with "No." As presented in this series, being with Type is an endless mind-fuck. Now he's happy. Now he's sad. Now he's sorry. Now he's mad. Now he's jealous. Now he's suspicious. Now he's tender. Now he's cold. It would be exhausting for any human. No matter how much one loves another, constant roller-coaster of emotions and behaviors is just to much. Tharn has become a pathetic character who doesn't respect himself enough to tell Type to cut the crap or it's over. Rather, he enables it. I don't buy that it's been this way for seven years and Tharn hasn't dumped Type.

Side-couples are boring and their stories are uninteresting. The one with the injured-knee boy is kind of bizarre. But not in a way that I care about. The child-boy across the hall with the other guy is odd.

I'll continue watching but I don't think it will improve. Especially between Tharn and Type, nothing seems to be happening...no character development either. Just mind-games and lots pouting.

Everyone of us is flawed in many regards. This is the human condition. It is those who seek out and face their…
I'm also watching 1000 Stars as it's released. To me there are a lot of clunky moments and plot holes and low-budget side-effects, but the MC chemistry, Earth's torso and the show's big heart keep me coming back. Favorite series: "Like Love" and sequel, "I Told Sunset About You," "Grey Rainbows" (right up until that horrifying, middle finger to the audience, ridiculously manipulative major incident during the wedding photograph scene. Pissed me off.), "Together With Me" and sequel, "Make Our Days Count" (right up until a very similar, messed up ending like GR's, "Love By Chance" and "TharnType" (with some reservations).

Movies, or series both, I love dark, dark, intense, strange, graphic, twisted and daring drama. For comparison, the beloved "SOTUS" original and sequel make me nauseous.
Just finished the fourth ep. Another...meh.

The whole thing with Type getting angry and jealous over hearing that Techno, who loves to stir the pot, saw Tharn walking with a woman at the mall, is pure silliness. I mean, that could be a hundred different things and if you have any, even a little, trust in your partner, you wouldn't immediately feel threatened and get suspicious and don sunglasses to go the mall to meet what you perceive to be a love rival. Especially after 7 years together and you still love each other completely and fully. Ridiculous.

All the side couples don't really grab my interest. Doc and Champ are kind of sweet and cute, but there's no intrigue there.

And again with everyone in the show being gay, it takes me out of the show, as if all these people exist in a glass bubble somewhere in which everyone is gay. We're only 10% of the population at most, not 90%. lol

I don't have a good feeling about where this is headed at this point, though I will certainly watch the rest of the episodes. Plus, they've made it clear for what?, a year? already in publicity shots and videos, that these two end up married. So where's the suspense in that?

Haven't read any comments or reviews to bias me one way or the other.
WHEN DID EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP OF FRIENDS, ACQUAINTANCES AND FAMILY TURN GAY? Is everyone in Bangkok gay now? I'm gay and even I am annoyed at the unrealism of it. I enjoy the antics of a straight side-couple or two as long as the gay characters remain the overall focus. This fantasy world where everyone is gay takes me out of the story because I'm thinking how bizarre it is.
Why would Type be afraid to come out? Everyone is gay!

Why is there a 16 year-old doctor working at the hospital? Someone needs to call the medical association about this! He would have had to enter med school when he was 10.

I find myself warming to the Thorn character, but the strange obsession with his sister is still going on and gives me the creeps. Creeps are fine, but let the story go somewhere...let him be in love with his sister! :D Let the freak-flag fly! But to throw in that odd fixation to the plot and then do nothing with it...why? This guy is stalking her while she goes around to her various public appearances. What?! And why does Thorn still live at home? lol

So in seven years Thanya grew up and became a famous actress. Really? I don't think so...

What's up with the kid who injured his knee and Leo, who I thought was a friend, but then he walked into the kid's home like he lived there and I thought "oh, they're brothers! This could be juicy!" But during that conversation Leo used the word "friend" in reference to himself so I thought OK, they're friends. But then Leo proceeds further into the house as if he lives there and takes a nap on the couch as if he lives there, and the injured knee kid comes and lays down next to him in an embrace that average brothers and friends do not use. So what the hell?

I continue to adore Tharn and Mew the actor who plays him. He is so effective in that role. His passionate love and adoration of Type is so self-evident in almost every move he makes and in emotions that gleam from his eyes and ripple across his face. I am annoyed with Type half the time because he continues to not fully understand how fortunate he is to have such a handsome, good, gentle, strong, creative guy who loves him sooooooooooo much. To me, Type is quite high-maintenance.

The scene where Type does express his love by straddling Tharn on the dining room chair and sitting in reverse on his lap, just holding him, was lovely. So was the wtf? reaction of Tharn...it was nice to see his surprise and puzzlement turn into joy as he held Type back. Very nice. I teared up before anything was really said just from the emotions flowing out of my laptop screen.

The nurse that works with Type is funny.

So glad Techno is back! Every scene he's in crackles with energy and I love the character. So amusing. But now Techno is gay too! I wish they would have let him stay straight and meet some quirky girl that falls for him. It's fun to see how his facial structure has changed in seven years. I think he's handsome in a quirky way.

Why do Thai people sleep with all the lights on?
