The thing is that drunk scene was not Gao Shide, that was Sam. If anybody has ever seen interviews with him or…
Wow, thank you for clearly stating another angle on this drunk thing that I haven't been able to express. I agree. I saw a drunk actor, not a drunk Shi De.
If it was written differently you wouldn't be having all the reactions and mixed emotions you are having now.…
I've had "Method" on my list for a couple of years but haven't watched it. I'll do so tonight. Thanks for the reminder. We disagree about the drinking. Actors "act," and if they can't do a convincing drunk scene then they need to do some work until they can.
You’ve noticed that Pei Shou Yi is in his late thirties or thereabouts, right?Shu Yi’s dad is really weird,…
You are one hundred percent mistaken about method actors getting drunk to do a drunk scene. Method acting is about getting inside the character, becoming the character, but the actor is always in control. When you booze it up to play a scene you are OUT of control. If Sam plays a heroin addict next, can we look forward to hearing that he shot up on the set to do his scenes?
Acting and directing wise there's nothing to be worried about. They delivered and delivered even more than we…
I'll respond to as many people as I please and comment with as much frequency as I choose. I am not hating on Sam. I have stated I admire his acting talent to this point. I am spamming on his unprofessional behavior on set. You don't like it? Don't read my comments. It's very simple.

I repeat: Anyone who has to actually get drunk on set to do a drunk scene needs to work on their acting skills. The director should be fired. The whole thing is appallingly unprofessional.

First of all, I will post as much as I want. Skip my comments if they disturb you this much. Please provide links to your assertion that half of Hollywood actors are high or drunk when they act. Sam chose to do this because he wanted to take the lazy way out. Actors "act," they don't use cheap crutches like booze. The director is an idiot and should be fired. ''
Finally, I love your assertion that audience members have no right to have opinions and reactions to what they see on screen or on stage or whateve,, unless of course they are positive. You are ridiculous. Football fans should sit quietly in the stadium during games also, because they aren't out on the field getting hammered by defensive linemen, right? lol
Frankly, I am concerned for Sam as a human being after seeing some interviews and learning about filming a scene drunk. I sincerely hope he is getting the help he needs. Mental health issues are nothing to be ashamed of. The Asian K-Pop and entertainment industry is brutal in so many ways. I can't imagine being under that kind of microscope.
So Sam went to get breakfast for Shu Yi but somehow ended up on the roof of the building sitting on a bench looking at the skyline or something, conveniently overhearing Shu Yi's conversation with his assistant. Jesus, talk about lazy, unrealistic and unoriginal writing...that's a trope from every BL ever made. WTF was he doing up on the roof, sitting alone when he was supposed to have gotten breakfast for Shu Yi?
PLUS, him overhearing that takes all the tension out of what Shu Yi is planning to do to Shu Di. It would have been much more interesting if we got to see Shu Yi play out that plan and give Shi De the comeuppance he deserves.
So now we apparently have Shu Yi's dad showing up out of nowhere with shopping bags, acting extremely stereotypically gay, and babbling out the very predictable hint that he had somehow forced Shi De to stay out of contact with Shu Yi. More laughably unoriginal BL writing. It would be interesting if Shu Yi's dad IS gay though. lol But if he lives there, where the hell has he been til now?
The whole drunk, sexy, yes/no/maybe/I hate you/let's f**k scene was extremely well done and over the top hot, tongues and all. I just wish I didn't know that Sam was wasted when the scene was shot, as it takes all my respect for his performance and trashes it. That's not what professional actors do. If you have to get drunk to shoot a drunk scene you need to work on your acting skills.
The real star of this episode for me was Shu Yi's special assistant's beige plaid pants and vest. Very cool!
Oh, and how would the autistic guy's ex-BF have left him twelve freaking years ago? That means they were about eight at the time. lol Who writes this shit?
Why would you automatically believe that? I would agree that the physical aspects were improvised for the most part, but the actors can't just spew whatever comes into their heads. But there was very little dialogue anyway, so whatever.
Finally someone else who was uncomfortable during that scene. I honestly felt super turned off.
You're SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable. That's what the script intends the audience to feel. I suggest you stop watching BLs and go to the Disney Channel.
Thank you! My sentiments exactly. That scene could've have been just as sexy, hot, and intense, if the writers…
How would it have been as hot and sexy if there was no intense give and take on the couch? The show intends for you to have these mixed feelings. It's called drama for a reason.
Honestly that whole sexual assault, borderline rapey aspect of the sofa scene could have been completely skipped…
If it was written differently you wouldn't be having all the reactions and mixed emotions you are having now. This is what they WANTED the audience to feel. The acting was excellent, but knowing that Sam was actually drunk when he did it eliminates any respect I might have felt for his performance. Real actors "act" without chemical assistance.
Very conflicted about this episode but Sam Lin was outstanding.
He was drunk when he did the scene. Which takes all of my respect for his acting out of the equation. Professional actors don't rely on booze to help them act.
OK. I can see your point. But, as I stated before, does this now mean that when a person says "no" they don't…
Yes. The show-makers are saying that everyone should be forced to have sex against their will. (major eye-roll) It is a drama. People do bad things in dramas and in real life. Besides, which, you don't know if anything physical/sexual actually took place.
This SERIES! Already top notch with just two episode so far. Excellent acting, directing, lighting, script!! I…
How much are you paid by the production company? lol You say you get all of this. My reply is FIVE YEARS, NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER. FIVE YEARS. NOT FIVE MONTHS. YEARS. Then they HAPPEN to run into each other and Shi De wants forgiveness immediately. If he can do what he's doing now to pursue Shu Yi, why couldn't he have done it a year earlier? Anyway, terrible script and story.
I've decided I'm basically hate-watching this series. The writers wrecked everything in eps. 6.5 and 7, so now I'm just along for the ride to see how ridiculous the explanations for all these inexplicable behaviors are. Going to read comments first to get some other perspectives before responding to this latest ep.
