Title Love Me If You Dare Spoiler
I don't know why, but I've got this feeling that we're going to spill some tears later on with this drama. I am almost convinced that we're going to lose at least one 'good guy'. The importance of both Fu Zi Yu (only friend to him) and Li Xun Ran (like a brother to her) has been made very clear. They are dealing with a psychotic killer that tries to stay ahead of Simon. It's just a matter of time before one of them (or both) will become a victim, before he's going after Jian Yao herself. I haven't read the novel though, so I hope that I'm wrong. But I wouldn't be suprised if the story would go this way.

I'm so happy with this one! A tense atmosphere, with a 'bit of romance. I'm lovin' it! Huo Wallace is some eye candy as well, but besides that, I'm really enjoying his acting.

Btw, does anyone have some recs for drama's that are similiar like this one?

I tried. But I barely reached episode 30. Over 70 episodes, it's just too much for me.

I can say that, as a gay guy, these gender twists in dramas are always messing me up. ''Mom, dad, I'm straight after all!!!!!''

EDIT: No, nevermind. I just got introduced to Bii's character. I'm definitely not straight.

Che. It was definitely heart-warming, but I kinda felt sorry for him. And even though I like Bing's smile, I'm in love with Che's smile.

I would change 'Asian drama' in 'Dramas in general' for you, but I am in no position to say something about that. I don't really watch western ones.

Anyhow, lets continue watching how this story further develops. I don't know about you guys, but I'm unexpectedly dealing with the second male lead syndrome. From the beginning I've rooted for Bing, but after watching ep 14, I'm not so sure anymore..

Avoiding those people is hard but not impossible. Kachiiing came with the bedroom situation. For a starter, kick Bing out. I can remember an episode in which Ming Xiao Xi said to Che that it would be better to stop their interaction. It's something that she couldn't hold on to for that long unfortunately.

If you want to know the reason why I find hear weak, read my previous comments. If that doesn't help, read my latest comment to Kachiiing.

You're right. There is no person that perfect. They probably don't exist. But I'm pretty sure that types like Ming Xiao Xi don't exist either, or at least, are very rare. Both of them are extremities. It's just that with the portrayal of female leads in asian dramas in general, I get annoyed with one of those extremities.

In the end, it's dramaland. But it would be nice to see more female leads that are standing firm in their shoes and do not have contradictions in their actions, words and thoughts. Or at least, not so much as most of them have now.

True, it's dramaland. And I agree that not all drama's should be like that. I don't know what your thoughts in this are, but the way I see it, female leads in asian dramas aren't always portrayed as the strongest types. And that's an understatement. You can have drama, but still have female leads that are standing firm in their shoes. Seeing Ming Xiao Xi in this drama, I got once again bothered by that. Especially in the first few episodes. The bedroom thing is a great example. Which normal person in this world would even accept that. (The reason why I am raging on that traditional upbringing; the thee strikes promise, or whatever it's called). I know, it's a drama, it's exaggerated, I shouldn't take it too serious, but still..

Yes, she is slowly okay with the interaction. But that contradicts with what she said in earlier episodes. Which I would be totally fine with, if she indeed stands firm in her shoes. But even in ep 12 she still showed her doubts in a conversation with Che. That's also when I posted my first comment. That's the moment when I thought: make up your mind already.

Oh well. I haven't watched the episodes after 12 yet. I spend more time on writing these comments than on watching episodes.

Chill. Great that you're able to speak on behalf of many people at MDL. Well, I'm sure I am clueless about one thing. I really don't understand why I deserve such a tone. 'But whatever'. Have a nice day and enjoy the drama!

Everything that can go wrong, actually goes wrong in this drama. I'll have to say, even though the parents of the Reply series will always be my number 1 parent couple, Ah Da Mo's parents are serously on the second spot. They are hilarious. And omg, I'm falling for Jun Ji Hoo. He is perfect boyfriend material.

No matter what I do, 'narrow-mindedness' is the closest translation that comes to the word I use in my own language. If that's not right, then I'll take that word back and use stubbornness. But I'm convinced that these words are not 100% identical either. Don't you speak Dutch? That would make things a lot easier for me. ^_^

I think that her being -extremely- righteous and sincere is putting her in a position that makes her weak. And even though there are better ways to avoid and or solve her problems caused by that position, she doesn't. That makes her dumb. She herself is the girl that wanted to get through school without any problems. Unnoticed. Instead, she is clinging to the things that make her even more noticeable, but at the same time, acts like she wants to avoid them. That's what I find pathetic.

You want me to go through the episodes and write down all the parts that I'm talking about?

I have nothing against a character that is righteos and sincere. But Min Xiao Xi. her words, her actions, her thoughts, all 3 of them don't correspond to each other. That's annoying. In order to like such a character, that should be the case.

I'm not saying that she is dumb because she is from the countryside. I do consider her as Jan Di material though.

It seems the both of you misunderstand something. Just because I dislike some traits of the main character, does not mean I dislike the drama in general. There are plenty of other characters that I do like. Lots of eye candy, I guess? With that being said, I'm not dropping it. But thanks for the advice.

Just like anyone else on MDL, I'm using the comment section to vent off my feelings. People shouldn't feel obligated to reply to everything that's been said on here. In my case; if you do want to let me know that you disagree with me, which is fine, then let me know with some proper arguments. Telling me I'm wrong and that I should drop the drama if I dislike something isn't going to work. Then don't reply at all. But to prevent more comments like these, I've edited my first post into a spoiler. Maybe that helps.

Now, for the latest reaction that I got. Attacking me personally isn't going to help us both either. I'll be smart and ignore that this time. I regard everyone's (may it be a characters from a story or people in real life) situation as different. So no, I don't say you're weak. Whatever my logic would be, it would be a 100% different in your case. You're not Ming Xiao Xi from China, you're Kelly from Ohio USA. I don't know why you're including yourself in this, but don't. Really, just don't. Any other would've taken advantage of that, and start attacking you personally as well. And if that happens, the discussion only ends up in a fight. And I am everything but interested in that.

The little appetite that I possibly had for a little discussion about the story and character itself is long gone. So I'll keep it at this.

Instead of being 'classist', I'm going back to hoping the girl ends up with Bing. It's about time we see a proper kiss, right? Enjoy your drama.

I think she is narrow-minded because she is dumb and to stubborn to adapt her lifestyle in a way that actually fits in the world that she lives in. At first I thought it was only the stupidity. But in later episodes I also realized it was stubborness.

Ming Xiao Xi didn't want to stand out. She implied that herself in the first few episodes. However, because of her fashion and because of her morals she did. Not only that, it also created more problems for her when it comes to Bing and Xing. But despite her stupidity, this girl knows very well that changing her lifestyle would've made things a LOT different (perhaps easier) for her. In the end, she didn't. And she got involved in other people's issues that actually live in not only a modern, but a 'high' society as well. She doesn't know how to deal with that. We see her numerous times wanting to avoid the boys in order to get away from those issues, but because of the way her character is, she keeps attracting them. The guys (Bing and Che) are very protective of her because she doesn't fit in this world. To make matters worse, they even fall in love with her. And Bing even uses Ming Xiao Xi to stir things up in his world. Lets not forget Xue, she may not fall in love with Ming Xiao Xi, but she is very protective and interested in Ming Xiao Xie. (The bloody baskets are a good example).
The combination of her lifestyle with people from that modern/high society, and ALL the issues that they need to deal with, make her look weak and dependent. Even though she could have easily changed that if she would not be so stubborn and dumb.
Hence why I say she can be added to that list. Taiwanese, Korean or Japanese, it doesn't matter. Many times the female lead gets portrayed in a despicable way. And its 'bloody exaggerated'.

I always say: will it be a Geum Jan-Di situation? Or will it be a Makino Tsukushi situation? In this case. Moon River is definitely a Geum Jan-Di situation. I would've preferred the Makino one though.
