Review The Oath of Love Spoiler
I too feel this drama would probably ok with only half the episodes. The plot was not interesting enough to have…
Same here. I feel 'Legally Romance' has a much better character driven story and pacing though the ML here looks cute.

"While 12 episodes is short I felt they should have condensed it further to 8 and I would have probably appreciated…
Nice to know someone feels the same as me! I think the pacing was not consistent which made me start nitpicking about every minor annoyance. I feel the expendable storylines would not be needed if the drama was shorter.

Review The Oath of Love Spoiler
Kinda agree with you.. Honestly.. I'm fine with the first half.. it was interesting and kinda funny.. I could…
True. The character for both the ML and FL was not made well. What seems minor and forgivable when reading a novel feels completely different when watching a drama. This drama though did not feel very realistic and became monotonous after episode 20 which is why the characters stopped mattering to me.

Oh thank heavens there is someone else who feels the same!! The FL annoyed me so much I wanted to quit watching…
You're welcome! All the secondary characters were superfluous. Their only job was to fill the gaps between the ML+FL's screen time.

Sis, I have the same feelings and the eye candy Gu Wei is the only reason I am continuing to watch this drama,…
Thanks friend! Dr. Gu is cute eye candy but I was so disappointed as I watched. Hope you have better luck.

This drama is so happy. Lu Xun is even colder when he is an adult. Back in the past, Lu Xun was very lively when…
I agree with everything you say! Felt the same.

I binge watched this whole show, because it was so addicting! I realized during the span, the legends are sometimes…
Thank you for appreciating! :)
Very true about the red herrings. As I watched more of the show, I realized that the tales meant something deeper in retrospect.

What we see in the tale for an episode is not necessarily true for the drama and often has implications which we realize only after a couple of episodes. For example: The theme of lies was sampled multiple times as we see in episodes 6, 8, 9 and 12. This was something that was resolved only in the last episode but it's nascent effects were observed throughout the second half of the show.

The number of twists and turns in last two episodes really drove up the anticipation for the closure. As the tale of the two brothers in episode 8, the tale of the sikawasay in ep 12 explores the theme of the after effects of lying and how to deal with the same healthily. I really liked how that made me think about the story in itself. Could we say Fali was evil? For me it's a no. But was he the antagonist in this show? Yes. Was he the fulcrum for the wheel of time that is Kakarayan? Yes. For if there was no Fali, we would have no Tien Di + Orad. The same can be said of Toem. These two characters were my favourite because I felt there would be no progress in this show without the two of them.

I knew that the ending would either go where Tien-Di compromises with kakarayan and gives up on Orad for a world where there are Kawas or Tien-Di decides to stay with Orad as mortals forever. What I was anticipating though was a bit more clarity and closure wrt environmental issues that were brought up intermittently throughout the show.

Thank you to take your time to write. I loved this drama. I got a little bit scared to face reality. The human…
Same here! I was pleasantly surprised with the way the environmental issues were interwoven with the mythology.

Being on the top of the food chain, the onus is on us to ensure that we treat the environment around us with care. This often gets neglected as we pursue short term profits which I find ridiculous as having beautiful nature and a healthy environment around us is only beneficial to us!

I remember when the term 'El Nino' was just coined after the alarming climate changes in the Pacific, everyone suddenly became conscious but this is always like a phase that ebbs and flows.

Nature warns us so many times. All we need to do is listen. Even though we may not have the power to change governments or laws, as an individual we should all take the first step by being carbon conscious.

Change starts with one person.

One of the things I dislike the most about C-dramas is the ditzy female lead and second is the cold male lead. Hope these characters have more depth!
Nice article Lakshmi!

i usually skip the intros while watching dramas but while watching rainless love i just couldnt do it . rather…
Yes. The tales are a huge spoiler in themselves but only when you think in retrospect which is why I mentioned that. Good to know you enjoyed the article. Thanks for commenting! :)
