That is so true. While I do find amusement in the weird titles and subs that I read, because I love language in general I know how tough it is to translate things. English being so young definitely tests the accuracy of translators. Many older languages have three different forms of saying the same sentence depending on the level of respect or age of the corresponding person with whom you are speaking - English just doesn't have that! But yeah, it's easy to learn and that's why is proliferated all over the globe.

I completely agree with your sentiments. The weird titles are a source of amusement to me as well. Drama titles have a different problem when it comes to the translation, but the subtitles can definitely keep certain K/J/C expressions as is in order to retain the cultural context. I like that the subbers keep the notes etc to explain to us subtitle-dependent folks.
