True, but when your vehicle gets bigger, it indeed becomes "get on" and "get off" the bus or train instead of…
Getting the gist was never the issue, that's the beauty of English. It's pretty easy to understand someone speaking in broken english as well. BUT saying 'get on the car' as opposed to 'get on' is vastly different as well as hilarious.

"Get on" or "get off" the car - the mental picture is a model, cheerfully smiling and waving while sitting on…
Ha, ha! That is so accurate! I think grammar & language structure is a huge if not the sole issue for a lot of nonsense subtitles. There is no point even arguing about it cause it is often amusing to hear.
I remember someone posted a subtitle which was -'these are not my chives' sic. And they weren't referring to chives at all but to a person/God! So yes, lets just all laugh it off! ^^

I learned a lot of new cultural things today. After watching so many asian dramas, I think my brain automatically…
I think we can all agree that the 'Inheritors' is a nonsense title. And I am pretty sure, 'The fox's summer' is a metaphor for something different in Chinese.
Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts! ^^

Ooh! I want to know. This sounds interesting. Please share some! :)
TMOPB is a great title though and yes, as Amy mentioned the translations seem to be literal which now that I think about it seem much better than the complete replacement with English mediocre titles that we suffer from.

Thank you for such a well considered and thoughtful article, it was a joy reading and the effort put into writing…
So true, one should always appreciate the work undertaken by fansubbers.
Thank you for enjoying my article! The next one would take a few months to get released as I am still working on it. ^^

What an amazing article! I can tell how much work you put into it!Some things I'd like to help explain a bit more:世界微尘里…
Ah, thanks a tonne! Your explanation makes so much sense. I am even more disappointed with 'Sweet Teeth' now.
I wish they would take into consideration the poetic finesse involved in naming the original source material before translating these beautiful titles into such a mess.

One of the most interesting, informative and insightful articles I've read recently! And funny too :)Finally,…
Thank you for reading and commenting! Glad to know you enjoyed it. ^^
The next article is going to be serious. I am going to talk about stereotyping old age in drama-land.

Thank you for commenting! Yes, I am aware that it's based of a highly successful book but you are right, the term…
Ooh, that's nice! The last movie I watched was Secrets of Dumbledore, and I wish it was in a language that I didn't understand so that I could whitewash it's awful plot as translation loss. ^^

Great work, well done ! That's why I'm happy to understand Korean enough to stick to the original titles and correct…
Thanks! That's a great trick.
Sadly these days, I watch dramas while doing some other action so I barely get to read the subtitles, forget having the time to alter them in my mind! But when I do get some, I'll be sure to use that trick! :P
