After 3 eps, not the strongest, but it's actually growing on me. I think Boss is doing a good job. He's subtle, but realistic. I like the actual LGBTQ storylines. Didn't see the triangle coming, so that was a nice surprise.
But what grown man who owns his own hotel does not know what love feels like and has to ask his friend about it? LOL. And all the food porn is just a waste.
Still, interested to see it progress, but I think the 8 eps is the right amount for this one.
Brutal, dark, bleak and entirely realistic. A bit too artsy for me, with all of the staring off into space and never speaking. Some unexplained elements that could have been explored in more depth. All of the actors looked far too old for their roles (and indeed, WERE far too old for their roles). It kept taking me out of the high school angst of the piece. But an unflinching look into bullying, homophobia, and the isolation and loneliness of LGBTQ youth. Too heartbreaking to watch again, but worth it if you want a realistic movie exploring those themes.
Same, I get why people complain about the pace but I don't really mind it. It's a nice change from other dramas…
I like a slice of life and a slower pace can work. I just wish more was happening overall. I don't need the romance to move any quicker, but they could be doing so much more as real young adults to explore their characters. For example they've dropped the whole idea of making supernatural videos. They even briefly toyed with making food videos for the cafe - but all of that has been forgotten and it could have added a lot more dynamics to the show.
Eh. Another food porn show? I like setting a series in a restaurant/kitchen - but why then must we sit through…
I do have a complaint though... In the business meeting (Ep1) Athip treated Phirada like a useless B**ch. Why is is the only woman who gets treated so poorly? She was asking legitimate questions. Treat women with respect!
Two episodes in and somehow Star Hunter Entertainment has made me cautiously optimistic with this series. So far…
Tropes to a minimum? Fall into a kiss, almost hit by a car, picking up the same spoon, tending to your minimal wound (BTW... ointment in your glove compartment?? Ewww). I could also add, behind on your rent to pay little brother's tuition. Tropes aplenty. But I'm not really complaining. It wouldn't be BL is there weren't tropes.
Eh. Another food porn show? I like setting a series in a restaurant/kitchen - but why then must we sit through endless montages of food being prepared. This isn't tik tok. It's a BL. Focus on the boys, not the food.
This is a mediocre faring so far (2 eps). A little amateurish in the direction. I'm not a fan of the characters breaking the 4th wall and talking to camera. There is NO reason for it. Acting is okay. I fear direction may be the problem in that regard as well. I'll sit through a couple more, but don't have high hopes.
Give me a lost puppy dog any day. Nuea is adorable. The show is kinda forgettable, but I'll watch just to see him squirm in discomfort over and over again.
Cute, sweet, light. Nothing new or revelatory, but fairly well done all around. Some minor problems. I agree that the last episode felt a bit rushed and "just give the fans what they want." Mom came around a bit too quickly and easily.
But boy did I fall in love with these two, especially Hae-bom. Loved the friends and Mom as well. I especially appreciated how comfortable they were around each other after the declarations of love. That felt like a real couple, as opposed to many BL that still treat couples as if they were strangers, even after they live together.
After watching "Enchante" with its annoying filters, somehow the filters here didn't bother me as much. It actually made the whole series more ethereal and dream-like.
I'll revisit these two again when I need a lovey dovey fix and would probably watch a S2, although I have a feeling it would be hard to find conflict and drama for this couple.
FINALLY got a chance to watch the last episode. I really enjoyed this series. Not what I would typically watch, but there were a lot of interesting elements for me. The two tortured leads (and the tortured sis), the plots twists, the secret lovers, the final reveal.... or was it? Even the bromance worked for me (although it was really heightened by all the special material pieces). Now that Shiro has said goodbye to his "Daddy", I do hope it will include more romance for the two of them in S2... I'm assuming there is a S2 given the open-ending. I think it was the strong performances that truly got me engaged, especially Ichiro. That said, there were some plot holes and convenient discoveries, along with some ridiculous set pieces (like inviting the leads to a "dinner party" in the last ep. Very James Bond "let me reveal everything in a monologue" of them). But a decent mystery with an ending I did not see coming and an unusual couple at the helm. I would probably limit my re-watch to the special material, since all the plot twists have been revealed, but look forward to more.
This show is really uneven. It started out being fresh and original, but it seems to want to abandon that and…
Agree, agree, agree. My least favorite trope is the "I could have explained everything in one sentence, but chose not to" I'm sure it's the other trope, "we were planning a surprise for you".
And what happened to the Lone Lamp mystery? Entirely forgotten now that they've moved onto food porn and petty squabbles.
I, too, have a feeling I will be furious with the Amber storyline. They're going to reduce a potentially groundbreaking BL story/character to a side note.
Only watched one episode. Not bad, just not for me. So this is a "not interested" as opposed to "dropped." Was so excited to see Nut in another BL but I prefer my medical dramas to be heavy and my BL to be lighter (Manner of Death/Not Me are the exceptions). Agree with the comments that the rules of the world are a little loosey goosey for my tastes as well. But thanks to the producers for the Nut in a towel scene that ended Ep 1. Hope you all enjoy.
