Having some trouble with this one. Feels like they cut out a lot of stuff in between scenes. With only 2 eps left, I'll stick with it, but I'm not expecting to be satisfied with the conclusion given the chaotic beginning.
Ep 3 & 4 were a trial to get through. Lots of FF through basketball and endless scenes of lollipop searching. Characters are so thin and mostly lifeless, except for Micky, Pond and Saint (none of whom are getting enough storyline - although looks like Micky will find love - eventually. I'm just hating all the forced "moments" - like when Saint went to reach for his backpack and So trembled in "fear" and all that super tense music... for a lollipop. Trying to find drama where there is none. I contemplated dropping this, but I'll probably just watch at 2x from here on out just for Micky alone... until they force me to drop it.
I liked the friendship and family relationships in the First Ep. It felt like natural, realistic dialogue. The silly "ghost hunters" aspect was at least something different and unique. We shall see how it progresses, but I'm intrigued.
2nd episode did not improve on the first. After you mistakenly assume that someone is your massage therapist, grab them roughly, and then wind up pulling them into a bath, soaking their very high end suit in the process... you continue to treat them like crap without so much as a "sorry for the confusion"?? I don't care how rich and entitled you are, there is no redemption for someone like this. I'll wait til the show finished, so I can 2x through this crap.
I agree.. I think he is a bad actor.. sad part is he is the most experienced of the cast.. but it doesn't show
Regardless of what the source material may or may not have, it's not in THIS script. The writer and director have given us nothing to flesh out this character. You can't judge a tv series on the book. You have to judge it on the tv series alone. 99% of the world has only seen the series and will never read the source material. Even if the actor had read the novel, if the dialogue and scenes aren't in the series... how could he possibly show that?
Well, I don’t understand why everyone is going on and on about the time skips? What would you have them do in…
The time jumps don't really bother me, although I do think they handled some of the important information that came out during those time jumps poorly. And I think they could have written the show to incorporate some of that time and still gotten to the ending just as well. But ultimately, I could follow along fairly well.

I don't disagree, but you have to admit he has very little to work with. He doesn't have a character to play. Aside from basketball, can you tell me what he likes, or what his personality is? He's a blank slate and that's how the actor is portraying him. I'd give a little blame to the director too for not fleshing him out more and giving the actor something to work with.
This. 100 percent. FahThorn were so cute, but now they feel like two people who aren't in love. They just feel…
I think part of the challenge is that most BL writers only know how to write the "falling in love with complications" part and once they put a couple together they don't know how to create interesting conflicts (that don't use the old, "past girlfriend shows up" or "mistaken jealousy" tropes). So once ThornFah were together, their story was basically done and now they're struggling to keep it alive. That's why BL's are BL and not LGBTQIA+ stories. Dealing with the real issues a MM couple has is not in their wheelhouse.
I think the writers KNEW they did not have a strong MC, and that's why they gave us 2 other couples. Imagine if all of that drama had been given to just one couple, what an interesting series it would have been. Dating a sister, moving to Japan, AND shared basketball dreams from one pair? Wow.
I agree that Fah is the most underwritten of all the characters. But I did see some growth and warmth once they became a couple that I really liked. But he lost all his basketball drive - which was one of the few things that they had established for his character. The actor may not be the strongest in the series, but I don't dislike him as much as many of the comments.
Yes, the Air/Saen "go or don't go" has gone on too long, but similarly the DomeVee "we're attracted, we back off, move forward, back off" has been going on just as long (actually longer). I think it's just the juicy part of their story (and some solid acting) that has kept us from complaining about their storyline.
But for me... this is a series that is strong enough overall to make me want more. For some reason, I thought this was only 10 episodes, so I was shocked and delighted when I realized I still have 2 more eps to go.
Not for me. Amateur acting, glacial pacing, poorly drawn characters, and mediocre food porn. Dropped after 1 ep.
I've known literally a million people in my life, yet I've never come across guys as awkward and frightened of life as the main characters in BL? When LukChub couldn't even look into the camera, I knew I was done.
There were a couple of nice moments. I think it started better than it ended. Poor editing made for some confusion. Big leaps in character, like when Lu Xiaing Lin says he's "dumped" - even though there was never a relationship, but then says he's "falling in love". Not sure I even understood Yue Yu Zhi's character at all. But every once in a while the boys would share a tender look, or Auntie would show her support and it would hit me. Still, just a mediocre effort. I won't watch again.
The artist is Natee and out of all the Enchanté wannabes he has been the most honest with Theo. He kept his word.…
It's his attitude that I dislike. He was so cocky and smarmy and downright rude. You want Theo to work for it, fine, You don't need to be a jerk about it. Especially after Theo got you the art show. I don't care if he gave him a clue. He behaved poorly.
ep 9.. I felt like I missed an entire episode.. the leg surgery? the break up? WHAT???the secret group chat? that…
These BL have so many "stages" you have to go through. First, agree to be "courted" or pursued. Then boyfriend. Then kiss. Then house key. Then... OMGod what happened to sleeping together on the first date, like when I.... uh Nevermind.
Thorn waits for Fah to come home from practice every night.
Saen is going to wait for Air to return from Japan
Dome is going to wait for Vee.
Unavailable is the new BL trope.
