On another note: I'm not sure about a Dome/Vee spin-off. I love these characters and the actors - but the biggest challenge they could face has come and gone. What are the gonna do? A girl come between them? Dome is too busy with his job to spend tie with See? As much as I wanna see them as a couple, I'm not sure they could make a better story for them. But, if anybody could, it's probably these writers. They did a great job this season, so maybe they can pull it off.
And one other side note: Fah/Thorn get together about mid-way through the series. They live together, break up, get back together. They even have sex... but they are not "Official" or "boyfriends" til Ep 12?? I don't understand the rules of dating in Thailand. Haha.
Some mis-steps and problems in the last few episodes, but all in all a very strong series. One of the few that has managed to juggle multiple couples and give them all complete and satisfying storylines - and almost make me feel like they were each the stars of the series. I really came to like almost all of these characters, including some of the very minor roles (the basketball teammates added a lot in terms of friendship and humor - and diversity!) I was charmed and got sucked into all of their issues (yes, some tears were shed along the way). I'm not sure I would watch the entire series again, but I do feel that I could drop into any episode and be immediately immersed in their lives and happy to see old friends yet again. Nice job, everyone.
This is like a dream. Fleeting images that leave an impression though don’t tell the whole story. Beautifully shot and edited. A longing glance that tells so much. Wish I could have gotten a whole story but what we did get was tender and sweet.
Between the translation and editing, I was confused and unsatisfied. But I guess the title should have warned me. Some sweet moments, good performances, basically the start of what might have been a good story but not really fleshed out enough for my taste.
After 3 eps, I'm still enjoying this for the unusual storyline. Ep 3 didn't really have much progression, but I'm still enjoying the interaction amongst the friends. I'm curious who Amber is, and also loved the final "reveal" of the swallow at the end. Makes me excited for the next eps. Not great, but enjoyable.
This was a mixed bag for me. I gave it a decent rating, probably higher than it deserved. - All the stars are for the MC. They are both so charming, charismatic, cute and good actors (Earth has really improved over the years). -Beautiful scenery. A nice tour of Thailand. - A decent job with the body swap story, handled very well, so as to make it more romance than fantasy/comedy. But some definite mis-steps and few things that really got me riled up. -At least 4 (maybe more) scenes where Win devours food. I don't know if the Thai Cultural office sponsored this, and they had to show the different cuisines of different regions - but they wasted almost an entire episode (if you add the scenes together) for basically one joke. How about some character development, instead? -Endless bickering. I get it, they are supposed to be at odds. And I'm not actually opposed to the bickering, but it was pointless bickering. Do it. I won't. Do it. I won't. Do it. I won't. Repeating the same lines of dialogue over and over and then repeating the same type of bickering about nothing important at all over and over. Wasted time. -The infantilization of Win's character (and Lin's character). He's a grown man. Giving him a stuffed toy is ridiculous, I don't care what the sentimental implications are. Plus, he had tantrums like a 4 year old, was scared of the dark, scared of water, can't sleep one night alone. Pathetic. Whoever writes these things seems to think that adults are children. -The sexism/misogyny. Lin is portrayed as weak, unable to take care of herself, no strength, can't be in the sun, faints countless times and has to be "saved", doesn't even have the strength to steer a car!!! She was raised on a farm! Chances are she could kick any man's ass, but no she's a useless woman. Worst of all, the menstruation "comedy". Korn's awkward reaction would have been okay, but to make fun of a women, especially their emotional state during their period was outdated, misogynistic and down right repulsive. -The way everything was drawn-out, over-dramatized and played over-the-top. Every moment was played like it was the last time they would ever see each other. Ep11 they boys have been on their journey, Win is back in his body, they are back to friends, but when Korn leaves the hospital for work, they prolong the exit as if he was walking to his death. And then on Lin's engagement party, Win is missing - and people start hyperventilating like he's been mauled by a bear. The dude is on the pier... relax. Just a bit too much for me. -Did we need the Aunt and Uncle trying to get the farm? It didn't really add anything and ultimately was resolved so easily that it was useless. Although, that Aunt played a great B--ch. But all in all, I enjoyed it and could look past most of the problems. Again, because of Earth/Mix. Would I watch again. No. Give me TOTS any day.
I adored it, start to finish. Sure, there were minor criticisms, but so much fun that everything could be overlooked. Kent Tsai was phenomenal. I would watch him in anything. Great comedy, great heart, great friendships and a touch of bromance (not that much, truly but didn't need any more). Refreshing and original. I would watch again and again.
My only real issue with Thorn is the idea that he broke up with Fah because he didn't have time for him - knowing that he was in the most rigorous training schedule of his life. And if Thorn had not been injured he too might have been that busy. Would Fah have left him because of that? I don't think so. I understand he was upset about not playing for so long , and missing the opportunity to be on the national team - but this didn't feel like the Thorn of the early series. The one who pursued Fah without ever knowing if they would play together again or not.
Funny how people see characters in a series completely different.... To me Saint is, what i call a "plastic character".…
All I meant about Saint was that at least he seemed to have purpose and intention and was taking action. He seems to be alive, while So seems to be sleep walking.
Comedy is subjective. What is hilarious to one may not be to another. I’m glad you found the humor in it for yourself.
The music during the backpack scene was exaggerated on purpose, to play with the notion that the climactic moment…
I knew what they were doing. I've watched enough shows to know when a moment is meant to fake you out. And I knew they were GOING for comedy. But nothing about this show makes me laugh or even smile. Just doesn't connect with me the way they are intending. But glad you're enjoying it.
I love this show and I'm impressed by how it evokes a mood of gentle, tenderness, and how there is that age old…
And he's keeping the flower shop a secret. He told his brother that he was at the library. What's with the need for secrecy for an after school job? I think they may end up tying it together later (giving flowers or some such), but that's just a guess.
OMG. Wasn't expecting that kiss so soon. Not sure Ok Jin Uk pulled away as himself or the character. But these two are adorable together. They have a great chemistry. And the drunken breakdown was beautiful and touching. Can't wait to see the tears flow next ep.
Having some trouble with this one. Feels like they cut out a lot of stuff in between scenes. With only 2 eps left, I'll stick with it, but I'm not expecting to be satisfied with the conclusion given the chaotic beginning.
