Like OP, I’ve also been watching Thai BLs for a while and have seen people change partners many times and also don’t see a problem with it and I wish I saw it more.
I do like Pavel and Pooh together. So I’m not talking about them. But, some actors are stuck with people that are awful at acting and it ruins the whole thing. It’s really annoying seeing a good actor get dragged down by their partner just because they’re in a couple, and they have to stick together.

I agree, the only time we see him light up like that is when he is feeling intense emotion. He probably felt emotional because he found a successful method to die. He seemed to be in a trance and focused on that. Which is why James got upset with him because he was focused on chasing after Chita so he could commit suicide. James broke him from that trance.
I think it’ll actually be more like Dr. Romantic. As a big fan of the original Doctor X series (I’ve watched every season), the main character is eccentric and ignores authority. Never does anything wrong and never really faces any consequences for her actions. She also never really gets credit for her work either and doesn’t care to. She just makes sure to extort something out of her patients for performing surgeries.
I doubt the kdrama version is gonna do all that, but the closest doctor to Doctor X I have seen in korean medical shows is Teacher Kim, from Dr. Romantic.
It’s rare that a relationship in a cdrama feels grown and sexy. This drama is cheesy but somehow the romance is anything but that?
Maybe its because the FL is portrayed as a female general and everyone truly sees her as that, and it’s seen in how they treat her. She’s allowed to have lovers and she’s allowed to be as scandalous and bold as a man. Because everyone around her sees her as a soldier and not like a woman who is soon to be wedded. Even the ML himself treats her like a true enemy soldier and shows her no mercy. It surprised me the lengths he was willing to go, lines that most MLs wouldn’t cross just because she is a woman. It made me feel like the ML truly respected her and her abilities.
All of this in addition to the contractual relationship they have, where she is basically his Master and him a servant. + they have this whole plot line where he has to drink her blood to survive ❗️❗️❗️❗️ Leads to a lot of daring scenes you don’t see much in historical dramas.

I’m aware of the novel so I understand MingXuan’s POV. Also when I used the word intimacy I was not implying anything romantic, just purely sexual. I don’t believe it’s necessarily to be interested in your partner emotionally to kiss properly. People kiss all the time without that. I also think at this point in the show Shen Mo does have feelings for MingXuan. He gets jealous over him, cares about his wellbeing, and doesn’t want to leave him when the contract is up.I just think its a bit ridiculous to have awkward kisses when they’re doing the deed and there are clearly feelings involved.I also think there maybe some self-censorship at play here (dk why, who knows). Most intimate scenes we have seen all clothes have been on the whole time (like the opening scene) even though that wouldn’t make sense logistically. Or its implied by them wearing no shirt the next morning. This in combination with the fish kisses makes me believe this.
