This season was a frustrating mixed bag. The cast was probably my favorite or 2nd favorite of the seasons so far, but the production was a mess. Weird separated housing arrangements, weird dates, pointless eliminations (on a WEEK long dating show), too much focus on unrequited attractions, and of course, the complications caused by the reshoot.
It's also had easily the worst online discourse so far of any of the seasons. I hate to say it, but some of y'all are just crazy. I like Yunjae as much as anyone, but people treating this 28 year old man like an innocent little baby and constantly starting fights over dumb things was extremely tiring. There were also tons of awful takes about the Jaeha/Hyeongjun drama, including some truly awful stuff said about Jaeha and his situation in particular.
People need to keep in mind that although we as viewers have had weeks to watch and make judgments about the cast and their interactions, they only had a week together on the show. That's hardly enough time to adequately sort their feelings and make informed decisions. They are human beings, and humans are complicated creatures.
I hope the production team really pays attention to some of the feedback from this season and goes back to past seasons to see what worked. I don't want the show to end, but I also don't want any more seasons this messy. Season 1 was kind of dull, but it made sense since it was only the first and they were still figuring things out. Season 2 had the most straightforward cast when it came to communication and expressing feelings, as well as the most successful end couple. Season 3 was hard to watch at times due to all the difficulties cast members had expressing themselves. But this season just had too many production problems. It had some great moments, but was ultimately more tiring than entertaining. Just my thoughts.
I think that based on what we know so far, the elimination contestants could be Sumin, the Hyeokjins, Minseong, Jaeha, or Yunjae. Sumin and Lee Hyeokjin don't have anyone pursuing them. Yunjae and Eum Hyeokjin have guys who like them, but those guys don't see them as their first choices. Minseong has 3 guys (Jaeha, Taichi, and Hangyeol) who are mad at him. Thoughts?
Hyunjun said in a past live that idol Harua from &Team is his ideal type, and tbh Yunjae gives me Harua vibes. I hope they can open up to one another though so we don't have another Changmin and Junghyun miscommunication problem like in season 1...
At the (slow) rate they've been going, I don't really see how they can satisfactorily wrap everything up in 2 episodes. I like the best friend, but not how his storyline has been handled. All the focus on the drunken kiss and Doha avoiding it has made their relationship more awkward to the viewer, not less. And it's too hard to tell what exactly Doha wants at any given moment. He seems happiest with the team leader, who's been the least problematic and was the first love interest we were introduced to, but the prolonged focus on the kiss, the green color hint, and the ep 7 preview still don't rule out the friend. I could see it going either way. After that punch though, I'm leaning more towards team leader, with the ep preview being a red herring of some sort.
Cringy Kangmin solo stans are really showing their true colors now that he's returning to Verivery and asking for support. No, he's not going to join your made up group. He's been a part of Verivery for 7 years. You can call them nugu flops all you want, but all you're doing is pissing all over everything he and verrers have built.
