It looks like an early trailer song since the lyrics appear on screen and some snippets are not in the drama from what I remember. Are you sure about date? I am not sure I saw a trailer mentioned for that date on Baidu...

Yeah, I've watched both Lin Yi "twin dramas" of March 2024. The one that got first place in web series last week (for 2nd week running) got a review of "Everyone Loves Me - Not" from me, the other one, "Angels Fall Sometimes" is excellent but so heavy that it cannot be recommended as casual entertainment ; it still placed 1st among TV dramas (albeit with less points than ELM, so casual viewers might think it is less quality than ELM, which is a mistake)..
Lin Yi was good in both, but Li Landi in the other one was stellar superior in acting, compared to ZY. Anyway, that's my feeling.

Another question. Did you notice the 《碧苍战歌》Bi Cang Battle song in the OST listing on Baidu ? It is listed separately from the Wang Heye song, but with same name of composer, described as "opening song": more an instrumental version perhaps? Have you found a separate recording somewhere of that instrumental ?

I agree about your observation on make up. The over-emphasized eyebrows were strange in some pictures from the "mortal realm" part. Well, that's the fault of the make up artists. Besides it did not make him look that much younger fro my pov. He still looked the part of the "sickly man" who was nice to her and fed her what she wanted, from Shen Li's description.
Even if Xing Zhi is old, he does not need to appear elderly. He is described as "handsome, most beautiful", so that would mean rather "unaging" but not necessarily "young" looking. 36/37 is about right. I agree he looks fine and with a different, more commanding vibe, as of episode 8.

ooh you're harsh on her - but I agree totally , both there and in the previous drama LMLMV - wondering why such a change when she was quite tolerable in the movie with Chen Feiyu.
My grumble about the parrot was also that it is incongruous in the xianxia universe, would fit better in a pirate story, don't you think.
Then I was also fidgeting about the CGI monster that reminded of the one in Ashes of Love( I prefer the battles against it in AoL) But it does fit the xianxia theme.

Have you got the Ling Long /Exquisite song ? I stumbled upon it while searching for Shen Li OST on YT, and I had added it in the playlist on my Notes :) The OP has translated it in comments, the Hanzi are in the description of the video. It was left out of the sneakpeak 5 songs and does not appear on the Baidu list, don't know why. Need to be listening attentively in case it does pop up in the drama, or is it a song from elsewhere that was used for the trailer like video ?

Hmm. I was less taken by the parrot than by the cuddly/fierce chicken-phoenix : that one was perfect.
But okay, if this parrot does not keep interfering, and gets a good shower to keep its babbling tongue in check, then it is tolerable.
Ordinarily, I am not fond of added CGI "critters" in live action drama, especially not of "maudlin-cute" additions (such as those on the shoulder of Zhou Ye in Everybody Love Me that were border to cringe).

Xing Zhi is not young !! He is the eldest god, ancient god, despite appearing "good looking". Lin Gengxin is totally fit to play the cold, old, jaded character, who haphazardly decided a match that he was not interested in, and on a whim let all go to hide down in mortal realm, for a rest from responsibilities that he grew tired of ! So he will warm a bit around the Cluck Cluck, but we are not really there yet. He has experienced old age and death to put distance now.
PA fans ? Everybody is not hungover from Princess Agents. Matter of fact, this is one I still need to watch someday, but you bet I was convinced by LGX skills from other dramas already !

Noticing scriptwriter : Jiu Lu Feixiang 九鹭非香 is also author of the novel. So no wonder the drama is very true to novel.

Not perplexed. I am quite enthralled by this drama.
The ancient god should not be played by a too young man, so casting Lin Gengxin as Xing Zhi is perfect there.
If you prefer juvenile stories of college etc then there are plenty of such dramas or mini dramas with sweet young items.
Recommending Don't Disturb My Farming these days. It's mindless fluff but why not. I liked the countryside setting and the actors are not bad, have been noticing ML in another couple of minis including a costume one. If you want young people in costume then there's Ouyang Nana playing sweetly in Yong An Dream (although the never aging Jeremy Xu is no spring chicken in reality, but anyway, his perhaps last big role should not be looked down on. I liked him a lot and was surprised by the news about his decision last week).

I think you are right, after all he is a god, the last of the ancient ones, in the story, so he can have ESP and telepathy to overhear what others think. Since that must be annoying if no mystery is kept from him, he may have become jaded and whimsical which explains his strange behavior and wanting to go away for a while...

I need to watch Wonderland of Love someday :)
