Peachey Blossom posted on Youtube translations and lyrics Hanzi and pinyin for the songs in Chinese and lyrics for the English songs (including the two versions of Love and Shine by original singer, young 21 years old "Daniel" Zhou Keyu (formerly from INTO1- short bio and drama appearances on https://kisskh.at/people/29547-daniel-zhou), and by Wu Lei, performed in last episode). Here's the 7 OST songs (at the moment) playlist link : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLaG0k-PXfndN6zh6sdu7FjVw4bnqFZ3E
It would be batter if last scene cast by He Lan Dou (Princess Yang Ying) not Chen Hao Yu (Chu Yue)
I shouldn't even bother answering ... I found all of your sentences except last line in your post, negative, rude and condescending in answer to me. Or maybe so lacking in language skills ("dotes"...) that they come off like that ? My feeling while reading your post was:
What gives you the right to start lecturing me with 1. 2. ... ? without spoiler tags and in extraordinarily conceited manner, as if you had a right to teach lessons and you are God, knowing the ultimate recipe to craft a drama vs a novel (there's none here, btw).. You are not even showing the drama in your watchlist. So I won't do you the courtesy of hiding my reaction under spoiler tag, either.... Goodbye to you : maybe your intention was not the one I read, but if I got the wrong meaning, do brush up on EQ for communication, philosophy, and spelling, first.
ps when discussing a key point, mentioning characters and cast, "spoiler tag" is a courtesy to new audience, don't you know?
Happy Valentines Day! (one of the 3-4 "love days" of China, you surely know Qixi, there's also May 20 (wu-er-ling "wo ai ni" code). YouTube has a fun compilation of sweet couples in short video. Find out if you know them all : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5mgBj68t_Vc (WeTV dramas)
Oh yes : the fast track is out, and those who can't get it directly from WeTV still can access it from kiss. Nice. I'll finish it by tonight then. Pondering what to watch next already, sigh. I will probably miss the lovely couple. Oh well, there still are dramas I have not watched from both, so perhaps will go on doing a marathon of Wu Lei movies and dramas, and Zhang Jingmai ones, to get perfectly up to date when next item lands from them.
When they first met abroad, the ML was 27, the FL 21 (six-year age difference), and he mentioned that his younger…
We don't know his family up in time, but there were many exceptions to one child policy, so the parents could come under one. Like of course having twins, or being from the countryside with a daughter as elder child, or having a handicapped child, or being divorced and marrying someone with no children, or being stationed for a period in the Xinjiang or some parts of Sichuan, even abroad if I remember well, being of minority exempted from one child policy (most minority couples only complied with city policies to receive bonuses) : if one was of minority, it did the trick, or if the parents were from one child family themselves. Or just accepting to pay the fine labeled as "social maintenance fee" (that only worked for wealthy families, but I've seen quite a few who had more children that way with no twins. From the end of the 1990s there were more and more families with two children, but also more and more with no children at all which started to be alarming enough in the 2000-2010s that the policy was repealed, first accepting two, then almost immediately three, and since it did not work to prevent the plunging birth rates, no restrictions any longer. Still, China sees its birth rates continue sinking under negative growth, but unless incentives now are introduced, even in a Dragon year, it's likely birth rates won't really soar up from negatives. Therefore, those who are courageous enough to procreate are no longer being prevented despite still standing encouragement of birth control and birth permits : the latter are simply waived. Example: Zhang Bichen the singer is a single mom who decided not to involve and even inform the dad (pop singer "Martian" Hua Chenyu) that he had a daughter, until much later ; they take care of the child, Hua Chenyu contributes, and they don't plan to marry, since they are not any longer in a romantic relationship.... Modern families. Despite the "scandal", "as a pioneering and talented musician with a vast fan base in China , Chenyu Hua enjoys a massive follower base of over 6.5 million within NetEase Cloud Music.Jan 2, 2023" and you can listen to Zhang Bichen's latest song "Like Before" for Legend of Shenli, just released. Look up Peachey Blossom's channel. The "situation" has not affected her much ! :)
That's also why our Yin Guo once told LYY that she was thinking they could just not marry and stay secretly (or openly) together anyway. Weddings are formalizing but not any longer absolutely required. And it's absolutely true that a family wedding party could be held before getting legal documents.
Lol lets just say that you are in for a ride. The ending is happy if you stop at ep 34. Also, the ending all depends…
You definitely should continue if you like the flow of the story and the acting ; as it is wuxia, it's not sappy ending though, so... Just keep in mind the many times the embattled leads got through life threatening wounds through magic pills and potions, and FL faked her death twice, once already before the story started : that should tide you over the worst of heartaches. You could stop at episode 34 otherwise. If you are looking for who is who, you can look them up in the illustrated gallery of characters or get more info about Liu Yuning in the companion piece : https://kisskh.at/discussions/a-journey-to-love/121473-a-journey-to-love-notes-on-production-location-dates-cast-characters-and-more There's a Table of contents to navigate it.

This is debatable. I'd have liked to see Yang Ying in the last episodes together with her regent Li Tongguang and probable family with imperial child, too, but Chu Yue was the true survivor of those who took active part in the last battle, and whereas Yang Ying had moved on from her second love, Chu Yue was still mourning her only one, Yu Shisan. So the vision in the end makes sense whether it is a fantasy or not (as some commenters pointed out, Ren Ruyi and Ning had absorbed so much magic potion to heal all wounds and poisons, and she had faked her death already two times, so .... hadn't they become immortals? up to viewers to think one way or the other.)
All those characters were so good, and the friendship outlasted the filming : it was nice to see LYN and Alen Fang enjoy a day out on the banks of the lake in Hangzhou in January, joking together....
Lin Lin is Xiaodong's on and off girlfriend. You meant Lin Yiyang - no family ties to the other girl. Let's just…
My mistake. I went back to listen to dialogue, and found I had misheard. What the sister said was "Lin Lin beat him (MXD) with a brick when they were young. It's this Lin Yiyang who came to deliver the medical fees." It did not really make sense to me that LL would take violent action against MXD, when LYY always had said he had been wild. Thank you for clearing up totally my misunderstanding ; I think now that you read it and explained it well: everything came from MXD being hurt by mistake. Why the sister should blame LYY who had not hurt MXD by mistake or not, but come to help with medical fees, is even more bizarre now, unless she meant that LYY had instigated LLto hurt MXD, but we know that was not the case. Perhaps we shall hear more about that story later, if it is important for future development. :)
Looks like that to me. LYY was 27 in Finland so brother minus 6 years equals 21 years old. His wife may have been…
China is not (and actually has seldom been) that rigid on rules. You'd be surprised if you went there. It is a huge country with a lot of regulations, but what is foremost is to remember common sense, patience and compromise, being duly respectful, positive, and not "hurt the feelings of the Chinese people".
Lin Lin is Xiaodong's on and off girlfriend. You meant Lin Yiyang - no family ties to the other girl. Let's just…
but that would not make sense, either for LL being MXD pursuer or for the argument against LYY who can't be her brother. The wild one was supposed to be young LYY. - That said, I am following the drama, not trying to judge what is or not faithful to original novel, which I am not really interested in reading. Besides, did you read it in the Klingon translation? Mis-translations exist.
I wonder what exactly is LYY's brother's age? LYY said he was 6 years younger so he is supposedly YG's age. But…
Looks like that to me. LYY was 27 in Finland so brother minus 6 years equals 21 years old. His wife may have been older, 22 marriageable age, and have a kid on the way, so they got dispensation to marry unofficially first with family, and register next at public affairs office when he was old enough to do so or age requirement was waived ? Not impossible.
For the past few years, China encourages child bearing instead of discouraging it. They tried raising the bar from one to two child policy, almost immediately followed by 3 children policy, but it did not help the sinking birth rates and growing imbalance with ageing population. So, one child policy is a sin of the past, that lasted too long, and for a while now, it's "as many kids as you like". But. Young generations find kids expensive to rear, noisy, smelly, and a hassle boatload of problems to take care of. Many simply prefer not to have any kids. Thus, it is not a problem anymore if women want to have kids on their own and raise them independently. Example, singer Zhang Bichen who did not want to involve the father of her daughter, "Martian" Hua Chenyu, informing him after the fact and daughter was already a couple of years old! He decided to contribute and see the daughter but they did not decide to marry... Modern couples, new mores. The marriage age limits stand though, but might be lowered in the future to encourage young PRC people to marry and procreate.
Lin Lin is Xiaodong's on and off girlfriend. You meant Lin Yiyang - no family ties to the other girl. Let's just…
DLee1209 is right. It is LYY who struck XD with a brick.
LinLin has been mentioned to have a scar from having protected Xiaodong from thugs, but not as an aggressor of Xiaodong, whom she was in an on and off relationship, hidden, for years. We should put this under spoiler tags because newcomers may not want to know all these details yet, don't you think ?
