Amidst a snowstorm of love?? what in the harlequin novel title is this? lol can’t wait to watch lol
Me too. Harlequin titles were always fun to look at ! Not sure I'd have noticed "During The Snowstorm" without a mention of LeiLei and Jingmai to have me check it. Anyway the "love" mention is a staple ingredient in Chinese drama titles, so just looking at with a grain of salt. It may be anything!
wahahah…C-drama world like to only showcase good looking and extremely smart people. lol!
That's why we like them. Would we get interested in sorry hunchback one-eyed drooling obnoxious losers who only have despair and relentless toxicity to bring to table (or screen) ? .... hmm, who knows, might appeal too? ... rush to your keyboards, scriptwriters of the future!
Not much. The whole epic could not be contained in 36 episodes anyway. The choice of iconic events was rather…
Well it looks like my explanations were clear to those who still had questions. btw, I noticed other Q&A also had similar answers to my own: answerers had watched closely and "done their homework" too. I do not resent real questions : it is normal that people who are not familiar with xianxia or the game are unfamiliar about some details or logic.
I just wonder about the tone of your last reply:. Were you unhappy that you got a different view to your initial criticism of the end, and that some other commenters used the opportunity to ask questions ? ...did you want to attack me for answering ??? so rude!
Anyway, I am sorry for you that you apparently did not like S&F4 very much, and would not presume to try to persuade you to watch more like that if you prefer contemporary South Korean dramas, police stories, and horror : that's different indeed. Not my cup of tea, so wouldn't enter a debate about any of those. Chinese ghost stories, yeah, that's my stuff too. Closer to your choices, I'd recommend Oh! No! Here Comes Trouble! then. We may meet again In A Snowstorm of Love, although I don't expect I will be commenting and explaining much. I will just enjoy LeiLei's new role after the ones I already saw him in and his interesting introduction to Xiamen as Marvelous City in a documentary video, a few years back.
Try skipping lines after paragraphs so the whole thing does not look like a concrete wall... Even for proofreading yourself, you'll find it is easier to look at . Most readers will just be deterred otherwise, despite the welcome use of emoji punctuation to break it up a bit.
Started well. Overreached. Ended up disappointing. Some flaws were simply too glaring, worse than the usual tropes. The epigraphs over-repetitiousness, their reading by barely competent reader with accent and pronunciation flaws, the allergy trope totally disregarded in final wedding... That was one badly done interpretation of subject and story. CXX was okay, grandma and Cheng Yao /Tong Xin were acceptable. Boy and dog were decorations. Victoria Song looked like she was doing runway modeling duty almost from end to end. I regretted that she did not pepper it up more, like she did "Roof on fire" with Dylan Wang Hedi...

Xizhong, Guixie and Mengli had opened a portal to Huanming, realm of Fantasy, and that's where they saw the Qionghua platform falling like a huge meteor that, if not shot to pieces, would create a gigantic impact, kill everyone under and near, and create a new sea, that's what the Goddess had forecast. But Tianhe was intent on changing the fate of himself and the people he protected, so he used the power of the twin heavenly bows (notably the famed Hou Yi's who had shot down suns with it), to destroy the old Qionghua so it only rained down as pieces of hailstones. You can find further information in the companion piece with illustrated characters and cast gallery, and lots more (a few songs linked too, including Mengli's theme song, from the game. https://kisskh.at/discussions/chinese-paladin-4/122627-chen-zheyuan-profile-link (and much more)
I don't wanna live this dramaaaWhat will I do now??Need another drama of CZY asap
Next one will be Dark Night and Dawn, a Republican era/revolutionary times drama. With spectacular explosions, from what I saw. He looks good too, there. But since it wrapped filming in August 2023, it will have to stay in the queue for a slot to air, maybe in the autumn, depending on when it gets the go ahead. Perhaps even earlier. Some illustrated infos about all that can be found in the Chen Zheyuan Profile that I started last year. https://kisskh.at/discussions/an-ye-yu-li-ming/119875-profile-of-chen-zhe-yuan?pid=2762113&page=1#p2762113
Meanwhile, I'll be off to watch Wu Lei in Amidst A Snowstorm of Love.

You do remember that the Divine Dragon imposed a 100 year life on Tianhe? Lingsha died before, she was 17 in the beginning and "only six months" had gone before they sweetly kissed to seal their union. But her fate was to die before she reached 30. She wanted to spend the time remaining for her on Qingluan Peak. So she did, and although the glare from the shooting down of Qionghua probably damaged Tianhe's eyesight, since he had used up most of his supernatural powers, he grew old, after burying his wife. He still protected the living beings in his place where demons and humans were at peace. But of course he would hope to reunite with the spirit of his beloved in the end. That much was clear to me, no more graphic story needed. Going into long explanations or adding chapters would not have been possible in a 36 episodes drama. Of course, if you have stamina for 64 like Ashes of Love or such, why not (I do..) ? But these days, there is a limit to max 40, and besides, most audience prefer to rush stories through in 12 or 24 episodes.
I CRIED cause Tianhe is blind but then he suddenly can see Lingsha because he also… 😭😭😭 the heck is…
The mind's eye can be powerful, also for the visually impaired. Very hopeful and appropriate end. After one life, they can enter a different cycle, since they chose not to ascend as immortals, freed from mortal tribulations, but remain in the fate of their choice.
The memorable part : - Ziying’s two jrs in frozen shape in front of the gate is so heartbreaking.- When the…
Mmmm I don't think he was alone for the whole century duration : he did bury her at one time. And waited patiently till he could reunite, as the Dragon had hinted he would meet him again sometime, on the platform to Netherworld. Besides, I'd rather think the glare of shooting down Qionghua affected his eyesight over time, but not necessarily immediately, so going blind in the end of that century was not so inconceivable. He had given up most of his supernatural powers to protect the world, so he was only become an ordinary mortal. I did not find the end lame. It was just appropriate.
hahahahaha Devil general is so handsome. Now I want to ship him and mengli, now I Don't care ziying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you prefer Guixie who sacrificed his life, or Xi Zhong who remains to protect his new queen? He's a bit old for her... Of course, the Ice Cube, after 100 years, did not look so young any longer, either. 🤣🤣🤣
Not much. The whole epic could not be contained in 36 episodes anyway. The choice of iconic events was rather good, and I liked the pace. The end was appropriate to me.
Why did Tianhe go blind and what happened to XX and SY?
There may be some more explanations if other things are not clear, and if you have time to scan the companion piece with the illustrated character gallery. For some nice music, scroll down the first post, and you'll find one piece which I also enjoyed, from the game spinoffs : Mengli's Dreamweaver theme song, with konghou accompaniment. I included lyrics and translation. https://kisskh.at/discussions/chinese-paladin-4/122627-chen-zheyuan-profile-link
The Goddess/ Fairy Xuan Tian in the end was played by Kathy Chow who was also a singer of some nice songs and covered some very famous ones; these are also linked to her short bio note, opposite the character description, expanded with info adapted from the game description in Baidu.
Despite the heartbreaking ending, I love how the plot was executed. Literally the whole support cast died because…
Yes walking into the sunset was appropriate for someone who had wielded Hou Yi's bow fused with the Chasing Moon one. It was poetic. I am happy I watched to end, enjoying my time and adding infos for those interested. It was #2 among the c-dramas last week (despite the noxious campaigns about billing and Mao Xiaohui's face, which was fine for me). Perhaps it will remain in the top ten on the count of the coming weekend. The divine dragon was almost cute: and so appropriate, in anticipation of the year of the Dragon upcoming on Saturday, February 10.
So, it's over, and despite the length - yes I know, there are those who know the game and regret that a whole bunch of events were not included, that the end was not exactly same - I liked it enough to follow it closely and write the long companion piece and illustrated character guide that you can find here, to remember or find out more about them, who played them, sometimes what was in the game, with links to music, ost of coure, but also more, bgm and Mengli's song with konghou accompaniment (+ some info about the instrument and more). Enjoy! Direct link to the "discussion" (companion piece) here : https://kisskh.at/discussions/chinese-paladin-4/122627-chen-zheyuan-profile-link
Let's enjoy the show from ... soon up !
Comments further up, from when I started looking, are just ordinary, fortunately.
