I don't recall seeing anything that explains his character yet. His importance is probably just telling A Yin…
plot hole then, from very start ...hmmm. I kept looking out for something that might explain it better than "whetting appetite for back story of the fleeting time passed in "reprocessing" before "rebirth". Which is not satisfactory. He did not need to be named as if he was a known character, perhaps a son of Xiu Yan or something. It would have been better if he was shown as attendant or messenger or even next in line to jump.
I have a question that may have been already answered (but I have not trawled all comments here yet, because preferred to watch the drama through first and I am only reaching 39 next, because of some delay due to external circumstances). Who is "You Jun" (the boy who hums a tune in front of Xiu Yan and A Yin in the very beginning of TLI before she jumps into the maelstrom sucking her for "reprocessing" in Mortal World, from the "bridge" of I think Ghost /Nether world ) ?
I didn't know the average xianxia is rated so low (in the 5s). What was Ashes to Love's Douban opening rating?…
Agree : I was not enthralled by the Fairy either, and I remembered Hedi too much from his Daoming Si, which he keeps something from in every role I saw him in (lately with Bai Lu). But LBFAD story was different from other xianxias I had seen, so I generally liked it. As for TSL which I came to with no prior reading, influencing or spoiler watching, I ended up quite impressed by it, amused by the initial use of the "wrong carriage right groom" device (watched the remake of the latter with amusement, since it featured Ao Ruipeng, who had been one of the memorable "classmates" of ZLS's "Sang Qi" back when. That Sang name also made me smile when she tackled "Sang Zhi"...)
TTEOTM and TLI are different for me also because I like both Bai Lu, Luo Yunxi (leaning to 罗狮粉 since Runyu : have watched a lot from his 13 year career, going back to earlier than AoL, and like his singing and vlogs too) And Rosy ....count me in as an avowed long time friend of the 可露丽 . Watching those dramas came with anticipation and some trepidation - I came with a very positive bias and know it, but always some fear that it might not totally carry me away. TTEOTM was of course excellent. I am not totally through with TLI, so I'll wait until end to reflect on it, but already thinking of rating it generously.
Btw I have a question that may have been already answered (but I have not trawled all comments here yet, because preferred to watch the drama through first). Who is "You Jun" (the boy who hums a tune before Xiu Yan and A Yin in the very beginning of TLI ) ?

Yes. AoL and TMoPB were something! I have not been able to feel the same with other ones later, except .....almost.... with LBFAD, The Starry Love and TTEOTM.
btw do you remember the DB for LBFAD and the Starry Love?
Laughing. Btw, do you know where this drama was filmed? Red brick old apartment house with no elevator, but a…
Sure could (must) be for interiors. Even the exterior of house could be a studio construct like the Sang family house in Hidden Love. But i suppose the studio needs to stand somewhere and some exterior scenes were in a real place? and Studio China is a vast place, so which one? I doubt it is Hengdian. Usually there are "signature clues" with cityscape shots.

Yes it looks like a CBD but there are many... Baidu has no clue to inform over "China mainland" and i was not specially waiting for drama or part of leads fandom to explore Reuters and drama Douyin (did try the latter, but it did not yield more info except filming dates and some crew.) Waiting for some recognizable cityscape glimpses. Or someome else who followed production history ?
Learning some info on marriage law. That’s helpful!
Laughing. Btw, do you know where this drama was filmed? Red brick old apartment house with no elevator, but a terrace under slanting rooftop and lots of rain...
You also computed Heat index for iQiyi, I think ; ah yes : https://kisskh.at/list/4a6Q6n01 Thanks for your informative work !! All the best for 2024 :-)
I finished episode 1. My toxic trait is finding this ML's personality extremely attractive... But seriously I…
Noticed him first as Yang Kang in Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 (Yang Kang was the antagonist Jin prince's adoptive son, rival of Guo Jing ), and later happened to watch more in Good Bye My Princess 2019, Fall in Love 2021, The Starry Love 2023 where he was the Empyrean "world savior" in love with the demon realm destined princess who got on the wrong carriage. Entertaining dramas. Good and handsome young actor (only 28 years old on March 31, 2024) 💕
There is a bit of a wuxia drought on as the year nears its end, so I just binged 10 episodes of this 2017 version…
Have you tried A Thought of Guanshan (misleadingly translated to A Journey To Love) ? I liked it a lot. Darker than The Legend of Condor Heroes, which is on my best wuxia list too. Especially this version.
Lordy why did they have to make the FL so airheaded. She's a lawyer for goodness' sake, but being portrayed like…
傻白甜 ? shabaitian = beautiful and sweetly simple (praise) but gullible girl who gets easily fooled (critic). Yes, fits the description of our young "lawyer".
bf with insomnia x gf who can fall asleep anywhere >>>
There was a fairy tale / scifi similar drama last year where both had insomnia and needed to touch to sleep anywhere: Mr Insomnia waiting for love, with nice fluff and pictures. But not with a cold CEO lawyer twist and Cinderella making do with storage room floor to get her shuteye. Have been watching Zhang Ruonan before, she's got a nice "innocent" face, so I'm watching that one too. What did she get herself into here? Looking for variations on tropes: we got the puking on pants already lol ; the packing/delivering drunk female was new to me. The beginning with the dramatic mother mistaken for a cougar promises entertainment.
Do you like to watch always same things. Condor Heroes are classic of course. Lots of dead heroes too in those novels. Anyway, i love those stories too, it is not contradictory. But I was not watching Condor Heroes for the romance first, either. It was just icing on the cake for me. I do like to watch fluff too. No pb. As long as stories are not following same stereotypes (or then. I may look more closely at something like ads festival, outrageous obsessive characters, loved LYX better than boring Xu Feng hah! Or note variations on known tropes: fun! Or explore the delights of OST).

I am not producer or marketer. Just gave my opinion.
