So, here am I again, waiting for the next couple of hours before the drama slides well after mid point. Meanwhile, I added the full OST + songs with translations and pinyin of the Peachey Blossom list on Youtube to Peony22 's pinned Discussion that gives the spotify link for full OST
Interesting to notice that, at least for this drama, it seems that Zheng Boren and Liang Zi are the song voices of Wu XuanYi as Qi Pa ( who was voiced by He WenXiao) and Chen ZheYuan as Kui Mulang / Li Xiong (who was voiced/dubbed by Yu ChangYu). Apart from one other drama (Handsome Siblings), CZY has not been dubbed usually, btw.
But it's true that it's not often that we find recordings of his singing since the "infamous audition", years back (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zgysUrTaCaU ; in retrospect today, he looks so natural and shy in that video, that he can't help winning hearts and new yuanbao from that defeat! 😂). From the Hidden Love live stream recently, it looked like he'd been traumatized into believing that his song voice always will come out as a goose honking ! or that people will stop short if he try to sing a snippet. Still, YuanYuan did sing in the past few years a decent part of a duet with Shen Yue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXJ9eijiEUM and a song of Silence Wang called Little Star, that he performed for an awards ceremony (like most singers on stage, certainly helped by technical means such as auto tune, because a capella completely throws him, so he ends up laughing like a loon.) He's got a very unique laugh !... 😘
Anyway, over the years, CZY's looks and acting talent have grown in handsomeness, in good-natured humor, and his facial expression and hand movements are so special that I am following (even going back in time to watch or re watch past roles)! The long eyelashes and loving eyes, shy and slightly goofy smile of the vegetarian (!) Wolf king here ought to draw attention away from his claws and fangs! As for Li Xiong, it's a wonder that he can appear so different, both strong and manly, and cute and very pretty fake "wife" in the funny episode where he and Qipa cross dressed! Qipa is too obsessed by chicken drumsticks (wondering if that came with ads for KFC ?)
I'm happy with this Werewolf/Beauty and the Beast variation drama so far. Secondary couples fortunately do not hog time too much, so we can look at them without feeling the urge to ff. I actually also like that Hong Xiu Cat maid with Liu Jun the Snake & trusted aide of the Wolf king. Not sure about the (Moose? really?) prince and the Haitang Chameleon assassin. It was nice to see Mulang and Muxuan play ball together, but sad that the only thing the prince took from that bonding was new ideas to defeat his brother. The farting (weasel? skunk?) named "Butterfly" Hudie, with her hard-trying suitor (hedgehog) Bai Ke seemed to have reached an impasse... Perhaps some durian might help, but she did not seem to like things from far away that could stink worse than her! And the Daxia simpleton general Ma Yingxiong (hero?) was separated from the lovely lemon eyelidded Chun'er (sparrow birdie) kitchen maid : how can they get together again? Even though the story keeps focus on the leads, it gets a bit sprawling on the sidelines.
But the costumes and hairdos are very pretty complementing the "beast" descriptions : Hong Xiu's furry "cat ears" are cute, as are Chun'er round "feathery" rings on top of her head. The princess' hair accessories look very nice, but why did she have to give away the golden hair pin that Li Xiong/incognito king had slid into her hair! The black and red wedding outfits were striking, but weren't we a bit short-changed with that "ceremony" in past episode (luckily, down the line in a later episode, it looks like we shall be treated to a proper wedding.)
CZY playing "two" roles reminded me of face-mask swapping Chengdu opera style. It is not very easy. But how didn't the princess notice earlier that Kui Mulang and Li Xiong sound the same ? Anyway, it's still a drama that I intend to watch till end and I am not of the opinion of some sad people who think it is "so bad". Even if it does not take audience to same height as HL, it is still a treat to watch CZY 😍 again, with the pretty and comedic Wu Xuanyi (although waiting so long to air that drama since it was filmed in June-September 2021, and approved to go public a long time ago, perhaps was not the best strategy to win audiences, but perhaps it was because a new title was needed since this drama is only very loosely related to "Go Princess Go", for which it was intended as a sequel?).
As for dialogues, were there more in the spirit of that line that keeps me raising eyebrows in mock disgust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5cm7E_PD5U (the maker of that video now ought to add TPATW ep.16 timestamp 37:28 to their compilation) ? 😂 When you start feeling tired and things go nowhere, and someone tries to slide in an apology. But where does the law come in, for such a drama, where the lawmaker should be ... the King? (granted, there's the three annoying Elders, but they are more there to defend dusty and outdated traditional rules than present-day new laws?)
And then, wham! Was it getting boring? .....we got another cliffhanger until today's episodes. Hmm but this was to be expected after all, once the Earthworm had tattled about the "planned outing".
Looking forward to the "hearted" Eps 17-18 💕 this Sunday evening 18:00 BJ time (just in a little over a couple of hours from now :) ), and next Ep.19 Monday evening , and 2 eps more (with a goblet), Tuesday, one ep. on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday before the 2 day break. The icons seem to prepare of for some angst in those 4 episodes.

This compilation of "unpublished tidbits" has snippets for every taste. It looks like CZY learned to roller skate and skateboard on set! But his football skills and basketball dominance are something he already was good at. Also some wolfing down food. First part until 22:34 is all about Zhao Lusi, singing many songs including "Guest" (嘉宾 Jiābīn, by Zhang Yuan). She is also drawing the fox drinking "pure milk" from her diary entry in episode 2. Many many fun bits. 35 mins mammoth BTS -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpL0A9bTu94
I just found out that both CZY and ZLS are reliable archers, I watched the two of them last night at an archery…
That video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrPWsNQFAIs :) Sometime in 2019 for a summer sports event sponsored by iQiyi. ZLS also did a pretty gymnastic number with a ball.
On the way of my reworking the Discussion (checking and adding to infos, exploring how to brush up aesthetics with the tools provided, add pictures etc,) I spotted a drawing in episode 2 (the fox drinking "pure milk" out of the bottle that will serve to store Zhi's star-folded secret thoughts). It was signed Rosy !!! ZLS really went all out in this drama! For exact spot in the episode, check my entry for Ep2 in Episode guide section (which is thumbnailed between Details and Cast & Crew, above on this page). Unfortunately, I could not transfer that cute picture into the Discussion. In part, because I was not focusing on ZLS only, whom I refer to with links to an article, another specialized discussion, and some YT videos.
The time when she was in high school Young sang zhi have big smart phone and zhou lusi have old iphone. It doesn't…
The frog design phone protection was cute. But I did not look more closely to see what phones Sang Zhi could have used/was using in the 8 years between her 14 and 22nd theoretical birthdays. Thinking. When Sang Zhi was smaller, the phone might have looked bigger in smaller hands? Nor have I checked what phone actress Zhao Lusi favors in real life. ZLS looks like she is very much following fashion, so would probably own several phones and use them according to her mood? I used to have three phones myself... esp. since I was traveling a lot, as befits aliens from deep space roaming the cosmos. Also for duplicate security of data, pictures, phone directory... The iPhone was not my preferred handheld, still is not. But I will not go advertising the strengths and weaknesses of my phones and computers park, lol There are good websites for such comparisons. lol
He's got a very long series of travel vlogs. I watched a few of them (the ones about his alma mater and visiting dangerous places around LA, talking to homeless people... ) He's got a social conscience. He looked very calm, albeit empathetic. As for the YT short, that's a take for or from the first Yihe airport episode? Real emotional tears or caused by onion cutting, we won't know. Of course, tears like laughter can be contagious. Yet, he was supposed to drive her back, so he would have needed to regain his calm, as elder and wiser brother. The teddy bear coat in which Sang Zhi was wrapped looked very cuddly. :)
barrage, not baggage 😂 It's something unique to Chinese social media and some Chinese platforms. I saw that a lot on Bilibili. Sometimes it gets so heated up that the lines of simultaneous comments totally fill the screen, so you can't see what it was about !!!
Hmmm In any context and culture, when you call a close one by their full name instead of first name or pet name,…
You are welcome! Still enjoying the drama? I was on umpteenth rewatch, tracking down the Chinese characters for the names of secondary characters, to add them in the post about character names in my MDL Discussion which you might like reading: https://kisskh.at/discussions/hidden-love/109103-shooting-locations-and-dates-misc-other-links (I have written all I wanted to write in that Discussion, but if others have more to add, they can feel free to do so, or they can say what they liked there).

Umm did you need to flood this conversation with that question several times ? You know; you can delete the repeats,…
Easy : there's a three dot vertical button under messages after "heart" icon "reply" and "gift" icons which shows "share", "edit", "delete". You just select what you want to do with the message and use it. It can delete what is moot or unnecessarily repetitious. Even Discussion items that are redundant because already covered and pinned.
Hmmm In any context and culture, when you call a close one by their full name instead of first name or pet name,…
No you got it wrong, calling him by his entire name is not intimate at all but like a teacher doing role call ! It is a show of irritation. As if you called your life partner MR DUAN (Jiaxu) while frowning. He would ask what was wrong... Xuge is fine, Xu'er also, A Xu is possible mostly in the south of China, Lao Xu is possible too something like "my (dear) old man Tom". Best for a woman is to address her boyfriend using an endearing form like laogong (husband, lover) or qin'aide (darling, honey). Gege is out, because of the new contamination by BL, so suspect. Other words that you might learn in textbooks have shifted meaning, so it is not always safe to address a young Miss as Xiaojie (it can be understood as "prostitute"!) or a comrade as Tongzhi (go to Wikipedia to find the already long debate about how it was reappropriated by the LGBTQ+ crowd, in a country where everybody is not broad minded about the gender debate). Tongzhi is still used behind closed doors in CPC reunions by the "members of the club", but they will not address comrades outside freely by that word any longer. Like for xiansheng (Mr) or taitai (Mrs) or xiaojie (Miss), they'd now prefer for adults a more neutral address such as laoshi (teacher) even if no one is related to education. The forms of address are numerous in Chinese, especially among family members, so it takes time to learn it all if not born in the culture. And some people still use "courtesy names", although they tend to disappear now, and are reserved for distinguished families respected members. If you like to watch dramas, I suggest you watch carefully the drama "Forever and Ever" where this and the laoshi use is mentioned and used naturally. Hope this helped.
check it from here. https://kisskh.at/discussions/hidden-love/108799-book-vs-show1. extra chapter - wedding…
You also got delayed on Destined... I am also having trouble getting back to,the heavier or longer ones declared or not on my list. I even strayed into following CZY into his Princess and the Werewolf, just because it is a no brainer, fun fluff one, unpretentious, and I used to be an amateur folklorist, so I added it to the Wikipedia entry about Beauty and the Beast lol.
Check below or above, and please erase the unnecessary repetition of your question.
But, yes, I do have a "say in it" and a right to express my opinion also about this. So, there, even if I am not the police nor a teacher of etiquette to the very young. lol
FYI. I just had a look at your very short list and rather approve of your taste there, so will let your non-apology for the 6 presumptuous repeated demands, no-thanks for answers, and rude reply to me slide. - and I am still going to wish you a continued happy drama watching. Case closed AFAIC NRN (am signing off to go elsewhere in deep drama space, lol)
