But it is true that ZLS said she changed her voice to express the childishness of the 17 year old character before she gets more mature after starting internship . Until then, Sang Zhi is much like the protected child she was, holing up in her bed with her cuddly toys or studying dutifully while having secret fantasies.
If the adolescent period is not your cup of tea, but you still are into romance, you could start at episode 8 or 7, go back later if needed. Don't overlook the end "cuts" that are important and also a game to play, finding out where they fit in the episodes.

If you still don't like ZLS but tolerate CZY, and since you seem to like fantasy and xianxia you could try watching Chen Zheyuan's The Princess and the Werewolf. It is a nice take on the old tale of the Beauty and the Beast, starts very funnily. Still ongoing, but reaching end episodes. Free to watch until ep14 on Youku original platform, or you can try Viki or Youku English channel on Youtube, or "kiss and cool".

If you like reading, but the novel translation of Hidden Love baffled you, though you still want to know the story, you could try reading the manhua version, even though it still is not complete. The episode guide is maybe in need of commenters : up till now, only a few have rated episodes. I admit I am just among the anonymous raters, because I did not have enough time for much episode comments myself. Busy re-watching parts or total of other CZY stuff and adding to the Profile in Discussion, in addition to staying on with TPATHW + busy with life stuff, unrelated to drama or family.

Who knows? Not immediately since CZY and ZLS have a lot of projects pending (look at his profile.. and her drama list) . There is a project about Sang Yan (the brother) and his romance and job as bar owner, I think. But those who follow up on that are not happy that Victor Ma might be replaced by another actor. A list of names have been floated, some of which are definitely out-of-question impossible now (Kun).

I am still infatuated with that lovely drama. So, I went digging about a lot of stuff, shooting locations, possible models for the cities, character profiling, recipes, paper star making (and the meanings of the hidden thoughts penned there), the EV cars and their license plates, recipes and food ideas, the wardrobe of Zhao Lusi ...

Technical point. This happened to me too, and since I tend to post long comments, it could be even more annoying. and therefore, I try to check back like immediately + ten minutes later to delete what was redundant. I have a hunch the problem is due to a coding issue in MDL which when ready to post, advises "forbidden" despite being logged in. What I did then was : Ok there must be a timer, and I took too long to write and spellcheck cursorily (because I am using [not "suing", rats!!!] an old computer that cannot let me use Windows emoji, so I have o find some I want in previous messages if I want to add them now. It's a bit "mafan" and therefore, it takes time. So, perhaps there are 10-15 comments in the queue before I post and that gives MDL system hiccups?
My solution was; copy the completed message, delete the version that was not "accepted", put it into a new message [haaaah not "massage"] box and send...
And... what??? again "forbidden.
Let me simmer down. Is the comment useful? Perhaps. So, delete, redo, one last try.
Bingo, machine looks like it accepted.
Go back a few minutes later and find the comments like posted 3 times in a row !!!!
Fine, no one read and reacted yet? Delete the surplus.
