So ok, game over for me with L&P and RESET as winners, on first step of course, which should be further crowded with LLTG (no division 1 and 2 please!) He had been touched by her willingness to give him an umbrella (shelter) back in his first darkest moment, and he liked her nape and neckline in the crowd and her way of eating unashamedly his food when he next came across her ! π He was sitting back with a wide wicked grin then. Her not leaving but falling asleep in abandonment to him, at his doorstep, had him double back to put his coat on her (sheltering her). And of course her teasing him with the piggy and lone dog story, also unashamedly in public. As Ren Di had recognized she was braver than the rockers, and totally matching him, despite being less competent. So he wickedly guided her to competence and forced her closer, ordering her to move to his side in the base. Everyone knew he'd set her apart, although she was reluctant to admit their mutual attraction. But he played it so that indeed, till near the end, he seemed to be only career driven and using her as a possible stepping stone (cold blooded).

L&P special could be delayed ? Jiang Zemin, of course ... Deng's successor. I was in a "time well", just emerging to briefly attend Earthly matters. Although JZM left his mark in History the mourning cannot last for too long. There's an important event scheduled soon when XJP will be in Riyad. Real life dramas ahead.
Watch RESET if you have not already. Only 15 episodes, but.......
NO : that would be too spoilerish. Besides : telling might have you thinking you could easily "categorize" it, and get prejudiced. Even reading the short synopsis on imdb or Rakuten viki might make you think "OK I know enough" when it is not really so. Read opinions after you have started watching or have arrived to end, is my best recommendation there. If you are curious, and have completed L&P, why not give it a try? You might end up glued to screen, happily awaiting next episode too.
I will reveal that it is set in an unspecified city with a large bridge connecting a suburb with poor tenements, a park, and a college, to an urban center, via a bus line. And that I was fascinated by the episodes set in the cosplaying community (which reminded me in its building and street layout of a neighborhood I once lived close to in China) and the game players hotel. Both offered an interesting peek at some lesser known sociology, almost slice-of-life realist style. I admired the inspector. There is a mystery and it is solved in the end. Meanwhile, some of that drama has dream or nightmare quality atmosphere. Although there is a couple (FL first, played by Zhao Jinmai ; ML later, played by Bai Jingting) that warms up from strangers to close friends, nicely played, the gist is not romance. But the drama is full of emotions and there is no drag.
I was looking for the "Ren Di" songs : 'Who controls the marionettes ?" (sung by Pang Chuyue, titled "Between") which comes up impressively in episodes 8 and 30 (if I remember right) and "Light Red" (Chen Xueran or Cao Yang versions) I found them on this comprehensive playlist, which features translation into English and handy timestamps π , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61U2jsPrGcQ The background music is also on this recording.
I am ok with the last 2 you mention, but NLB lost me a while ago. Despite my coming for the savory food and Bai Jingting (who was so good in Reset in the beginning of 2022) and a possibly nice costume drama fantasy in the "connected states". The endless sanctimonious attitudes from the bevy of ladies and the verbose rants from prince Song and emperor + Song & Zheng ended up boring me stiff. I felt as though BJT had been trapped into playing in that morass. But perhaps I shall revise my opinion later when it is over ---- if I go back there, now L&P is not monopolizing my attention any longer.
