I am all caught up. I love it when Wanxing calls the football squad her babies. Love the dynamics. She cares so…
Hahaha, I was not sure I'd like it, since football is not really my passion, and I was only lukewarm about Esther, only amused by her hair clips in Speed and Love (now, car racing was one of my passion, so car racing series have a positive bias for me, more than falling into a game or playing helpless waif on skis or on fairy islands). Nevertheless, I have now reached ep..12 and I think I will stay on, for the (business shenanigans?) upcoming. Some of the support actors are catching my attention, old hands and newcomers + recognizing Ma Boqian, Xie Keyin,

I like it that the narrative is grounded in authentic local culture and use of the Quanzhou dialect (Minnan hua/Hokkien) reinforces the theme of returning to one's roots. There are local actors from Quanzhou for the roles of residents, parents, and elders. These actors are native Minnanhua speakers! The sets are interesting, some are real places and you can feel the sultry heat of the torrid season, since even though the drama is about school years, it was shot in August 2025.

It is a relatively relaxing watch despite the... (murder mystery hidden in the closet ???! I was rubbing my eyes there! )or the hidden overbearing CEO trope that looks straight out from vertical dramas, (except there, they act more handsy so should we expect that dark "insomniac" lone wolf-like guy to soon pounce further than caressing her shins and wrists, hmmm? and her shooting with pepper spray ? ) and the strange "manager" that seems to have gotten thrown in for fashion apparel product placement and to placate the BL aficionados who wandered in, thinking of male teams' sweaty togetherness (except those youths almost never sweat or sweat it to win! lol.) The food product placement is sometimes too shameless with the spicy meat strips, the sausages (!!!) and the crispy salty biscuits, the iced Americanos, beers... The kids polishing off a huge table of dishes is both hearty and slightly alarming, so when the poodle was brought to table level, I wondered idly if it was next going to land in the pot!!!

All these ingredients still mix well as those in the luosifen dish, so I'm still on board, sometimes chuckling. There is quite some humor there for everybody, even in the almost tragic scenes of academic or parental neglect. And of course Esther can't help being pretty, a tad less doll-like Cinderella-like than in her previous roles : now I quite like her! Just enjoying as the story unfolds. Surely surprises are still lying in wait!

If he is the ML, was that a kiss-after-death or a revival kiss at the finale? Leo must have set some kind of no…
That's why I regret the demise of "cool" : it was a fabulous archive for old shows that now may go extinct if they did not get uploaded to other platforms. like YT. But luckily, it got preserved nonetheless, I'm putting details up in another comment.

Title Love Has Fireworks Spoiler
the original actor for wang ruo hai (zhang hao wei) was involved in some controversies so they used AI and green…
Correction: the original actor sued a slanderer who was stirring up a controversy, with a malicious intent to destroy Zhang Haowei's career, using forgeries as "evidence" online. Unfortunately, Justice took a long time to check everything, but eventually vindicated the actor and cleared him of all the wrongdoing he had been accused of by a former "friend" (a jealous and vindictive type who did not even get fined enough for the damage he did to the career of Zhang Haowei , who plays Wang Ruohai). I had come across the Weibo post in which the actor said he was putting his career on hold to sue when I was looking systematically at all the characters in "Brocade Odyssey" where he also was face swapped, since production was on the verge of airing the drama and could not afford delays. At the time MDL agreed to note that he played as (body) and the other actor as (face).

Probably the same happened to LHF although the drama was not yet scheduled for an airing slot when Zhang Haowei sued and the haters stirred by his enemy had a ball online. They decided to wait, but finally the wait proved too long, so they resorted to face swap, perhaps as a last minute decision, since the voice superimposed did not get as much attentive tweaking as the voices of other actors (who are said to have recorded themselves, when necessary).

Wondering why the Discussions section item which detailed the sad story that almost got an innocent actor blacklisted, now seems to have been scrubbed from MDL - is there a conspiracy to target him even here ?!

Marcus Here drama reporter noted that "Love Has Fireworks" reached again #1 on the top ten TV dramas of the week June 29-July 5, with "515 points" counted from professional V Linkage data : a very honorable score, before "The Heart S.2" and "Never ending Summer".

Just finished episode 16 and Fl's Ex and his side piece are intolerable.Like his mum being ill is anything to…
The writer really liked to throw in characters to hate...
As someone said in another drama, it takes skills for an actor to play the antagonist so that he rouses strong outraged feelings from audience. The AI face and strange superimposed voice may have emphasized this (the original actor, although also playing an antagonist in "Joy of Life" did not manage to make us hate him there that much, lol).

Anyone knows the actor who plays Uncle Jiang? I tried to find him but couldn't. Thanks.
@ Charlie C : please provide an episode number and timestamp if you refer to something that is not clear for all.
Like Kokuto, "Uncle Jiang" did not register much with me.

Okay, those last handful of episodes made me really angry at the FL because they made her unnecessarily really…
I agree that the repetitions could have been condensed , and some reactions of our FL written in the script were petty. even if we went along with the stubbornness and pigheaded denial of ML's care!

I am not really much into K dramas so I have no opinion on their length (a query informed that they are usually "10 to 12 episodes with runtimes between 36 to 60 minutes per episode, designed for binge-watching". Although "The longest-running Korean television drama of all time is Country Diaries (Jeonwon Ilgi), which aired for 22 years (1980–2002) with 1,088 episode" and among the popular dramas, 2021 Be My Dream Family was 120 episodes). Other Asian countries have also very long series, although I never managed to get into the protracted Indian TV series : some there are over 10 000 episodes! Still I did watch some very long sitcoms such as "Friends" (USA, 226 episodes over 10 seasons, 1994 to 2004, among others although only some parts of the mammoth British 11 891 episodes and counting "Coronation Street").

C-dramas come in various length some as short as 8 episodes (2024 "To The Wonder", 2026 "Bloom Life") while 2022 "Reset" modern time loop drama was only 15 episodes, and now there is even a 3 x 100 minutes episodes one on WeTV although a sequel is foreseen to that Republican era drama) ; but usually series set in modern times vary mostly between 24 and 36 episodes. 36 was usual at the time this one was filmed.

There were often a load of fillers and product placements moments covering everything from home appliances to brand jewelry, face masks, car brands, fashion items, beauty products, even food items such as luosifen, the infamous smelly dish, durian and stinky doufu (but also less strangely smelly items, such as flower cakes, guihua cakes, fiery or blander hotpots and dumplings). When the dramas were not interspersed with real commercial breaks where the actors touted the wares (like in "Flourished Peony" TV version). After all, long series are often in the legacy of soap operas. Shorter ones may be leaning on tourism advertisement : all are a window not only on present and past culture and literature interpretation, but also on real places sometimes disguised under transparent false names such as Jiancheng, Beicheng etc. It is amusing to check which places are supposed to be the inspiration or directly portrayed.

Here, the series was primarily filmed in Shanghai, with principal photography taking place in the city's financial districts to capture the "urban elite" atmosphere. Specific filming locations included Sheshan Town in the Songjiang District, as well as various village committees and local businesses in the Jinshan District and Anji County, the latter being a popular rural getaway known for its 60,000 hectares of bamboo forests and lush natural environment.

The length of "Love Has Fireworks" is not surprising. In the past, some C-dramas that were set in modern times, could be even much longer (2019 "If I can Love You So", 46 episodes ; 2021 "You Are My Hero", 40 episodes ... among those I watched), but the longest were xianxia or wuxia (2015 "The Legend of Zu" 56 episodes, 2017 "The Legend of The Condor Heroes" , 2017 "Ashes of Love" 63 episodes etc) or other genres.

There was a cap on maximum number of episodes at one time (a policy introduced in 2020) , which caused 2022 "Love Like The Galaxy" to be artificially cut in two (27+29 episodes), although exceptionally then, the two sections were aired one after the other, while other series later had to wait a year before being able to air their part 2 (this caused some harm to dramas like "Eternal Brotherhood" which did not draw on a very large fandom despite having some idol leads).

The 40-episode cap for Chinese television dramas was lifted in August 2025 by the Chinese National Radio and Television Administration), so a drama like 2026 "The Lead" (about a Qin Qiang Chinese Opera artist, from the 1970s to the modern era over about half a century), had 48 episodes. This is not a sitcom but a long c-drama centered on a traditional art form that, despite various fortunes and misfortunes, is rooted in Chinese culture over 2500 years.

Why does it always feel like those who write "the actor has a scandal" (as you did) seem to approve that the person has to suffer forever, even if the person is, as he was proven to be, a victim ?

I think you should be more cautious when you write, at least use word such as "ALLLEGED" and "LATER CLEARED". Many who read "scandal" just jump to conclusions that the person HAS TO BE guilty. That is what irked me in the way you commented. It may not have been your intention but you did perpetuate the scandal lies.

The rest, what you reacted to, is just consequences of netizens behavior and the production's need to protect their investment. It is fortunate that it did not affect the drama too much. Now, the lingering mystery will be, who was "the annoying voice"? Could it have been an AI construct too?

Words can be distorted, misunderstood, misused, stolen for hidden agendas. Let's be careful about them and not give in to trash-talk gossip. To quote Edgar Allen Poe :“Believe nothing you hear, and only one-half of what you see.” Let's always be careful about using words that could be construed as if truly believing there was a scandal because of what was read or seen on screen or possibly manipulated pictures. Let's not hurry to join a lynch mob or to aid and abet those who make a living on clickbait and on most often distorted rumor mongering, defamation, or outlandish claims which may only come from greed and jealousy or revenge seeking by dragging in public for creation of a lynch mob, which is not more acceptable than real and serious misconduct.

Thanks, twinty, I was also watching TFJ 😅 Taking up NES now to see whether I can go further in than beginning episodes with the fish, where I paused because I don't any longer have stamina to watch 3 dramas simultaneously while my spaceship slowly drifts away from the Blue Planet...

I added some mentions to the review, since I think it is worth it that those who read it be aware that this TV series is one that was genuinely appreciated in China (even being broadcast now on a second main TV channel) so the popularity is still on the rise + the author had written a sweet bonus chapter to check out once finished viewing for everyone.
