I thought the most ridiculous script ever was clearly Flame Bride, a republican era drama where the FL doesn't…
I am frustrated too. Bai Jingting? He is not bad but not among my top favorites ; and he may make the whole thing mawkish. I am a bit worried.... Will peek, because I liked Hidden Love. But the bias is not altogether positive from me...
Victor Ma would have spiced it up. .... If production couldn't have him, they ought to have made it a short episodes one perhaps?! Maybe with Dai Gaozheng or why not with Ryan Ren? We can always dream up an alternate cast...

Ok :) Happy watching to you, then....
I'm off to meatier things now, such as The White Olive Tree, after Drifting Away, moving away from Moonlight Mystique xianxia to modern concerns.
Will probably peek at a few episodes of First Frost, although having read the simple story in the book, I'm not that much in a hurry to see how Bai Jingting could outperform Victor Ma in Hidden Love.
Concurrently very satisfied with Perfect Match and the "five blessing"'s shenanigans, paired with handsome guys such as Wang Xingyue (the "Duke" from the Double) and youthful Winwin. It is another one in the string of stories about business minded independent ladies in ancient dynasties, Tang or Song, since A Dream of Splendor, The story of Pearl Girl, Brocade Odyssey, Flourished Peony (unfinished pending "season2"), which I all liked for their different flavor and rich cultural heritage depictions. Albeit Perfect Match is more focused on family affairs so can qualify as "family drama" as well as "romance".
I gave it a 10 but not added to my TOP favorites, it's definitely a mini rating as I rate them very different,…
I'll still keep EITDN as my favorite these days, in that non serious category. That drama rolled so well along the music : "Act Like Perfect Partner / cuz we are involved in a drama / fully enjoy it...." Even if adapted from another song, that went so well !

oops Embrace, My Lethal Man... are not Japanese but Chinese. It looks like you didn't watch them or your post was truncated to state the opposite of what you meant ?

Same as you feel lenient, but unresolved business and sudden illogical turnaround of Mrs Bai have me deduct two points. I add one half for the concluding cheesy but sweet "it is kicking". It is still one short episodes drama that I binge watched with quite a lot of amusement. Will remember Ryan Ren and the clean faced Li Xingyao who played her poker face "liar" role very well. The script is of course non serious, so can't be evaluated except for sizzle quality, which was fine through most of this pastime. The logical end could have been divorce as evaluation not only of the relationship but the way she was treated from marriage. But we were spared such a realist ending and got the fairytale ring and roses instead, which was an ok HE!

Ah, perhaps I ought to check that one out, next? My favorite non serious sizzle short items up till now were Maid's Revenge (DGZ!), Provoke, and Embrace In the Dark Night, although there were some nice Richard Li short ones too.
I'm just starting this and I've been laughing out loud cause this is so ridiculous. First episode, first scene…
glad to see I'm not the only one to enjoy pastimes that are not too heavy on "meaning" π .... I'll remember those extra long "wolfish" shoes that were focused on, at times ! πππ
Any love triangle? I saw some comments below talking about her ex? She still likes him or spend too much time…
Conclusion today/tomorrow (depending on where you sit) of this "non serious" and often hot pastime that will perhaps get a compilation "spicy movie edition" on YouTube later to the horror of those who want to lambast it. Time flies too quickly and we'll be slithering into February already, after a quarter century of 21st gone by. Wishing you happy celebrations, a fruitful 2025, and continued good times drama watching !
Why are there so many negative comments about this show? Are they true or just assumption-based or exaggerated?…
Look out for fun and expect love and kisses, lol ! Those who look for toxicity will find such in the stones under their feet anyway. Disregard those toxic people. Like what you like and avoid reviews and comments to sway your own independent judgement and tastes!
I enjoyed every character in Perfect Match except Fuhui (2nd sister), Chai An's male assistant and Chai An's mother.…
Don't slander Fuhui. She is just as much in the sisters group as the other ones, and if you did not watch carefully, it is your loss if you mistook her motives and actions, but don't go broadcasting erroneous judgemental views. You look too much for toxicity. Just chill down and continue enjoying the show !
Liar FL's is one of my biggest pet peeves, and yet for some reason when FL does it, it doesn't bother me all that…
She sure could have been more upfront, even though there was the trauma and lingering distrust after the forced abortion episodes where she heard he was not giving a damn if his wife and her baby died. Once he knew and accepted her as wife, all this distrust from her was so misplaced... And she certainly could have revealed truth before, instead of masquerading as Penny so long. But she is very pretty.
No, no, no. The most pathological is the ML - he cheats on his wife (that he doesn't know), abuses drugged FL,…
yes they were both drugged by FL's (stepmom?) on their first night (her very first... which made him wonder, and more easily let go of the "escort" delusion he had about her in the first episodes, and decide to forget about wanting a divorce to "be with her", one he knew she was his wife). He did not cheat on his wife, neither there nor before, nor later... there are no clues about any such behavior in this short drama. He hated escorts, fell in love with the mysterious Penny but refrained from having her privacy invaded by a full background check because of respect and sentiments. But once he knew she actually was his wife he could let go of too much restraint, despite letting her go do her job if she insisted to leave him to go out doing that.
Not sure he could get the document if he stank of alcohol and looked too much in a daze? Perhaps, as twinty imagines, he went in looking neither left nor right, stony faced and got the chore over in minutes using will to blur out her answers to Public Affairs officer, and then exited in a hurry, leaving her to hand over the documents to his grandfather, later getting his certificate without opening it before stuffing it into the drawer. Or.... The grandfather would not have used Rohypnol (ML might have looked too sleepy), or ketamine on him, but I am not so sure about FL's stepmother who needed the marriage to get his money for their firm. The evil sister too, perhaps planning and working to replace FL already, although she could have just as well taken her place then, if ML did not know what he was doing.
Hello and happy new year of the slithering beast ;) I was wondering it you had kept track of Drifting Away, that received love-hate for its difficult true story inspired drama? and are you opening a new 2025 file for iQiyi heat index logs? All the best to you, Dreams, and enjoy the holiday!
