I'm curious of your experience: are you watching on a platform that is slowing down episodes release (there were 3 episodes on 1st day on main Mango platform, Hunan TV started with 2 eps on Jan27 but I am not clear about Netflix)
At the moment 10 episodes have been released on Mango :)
In case you find a way to binge watch, and have trouble putting a name on actors and characters, you can turn to my illustrated Notes and click on the excellent characters relationship chart translated by fellow MDL member soonsetra (click twice to get it in enlarged format for easy reading). I may be expanding these Notes with more info along the way so feel free to click on the apparently empty Discussions section (above comments here) to access the three "pinned" ones that are "hidden" there by MDL (reason explained in my Notes). error code when I looked for it there. But I still found it again elsewhere, so good hunting if you are looking…
Here you are : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jL66LOrYo4 (English and Viet subtitles) Download it if you are a Jay Chou fan : perhaps it won't stay forever there and the cool archives are regrettably defunct now.
Thanks, assuming there will be another calendar, after Jan31 and ep.13 release. It is interesting that the release is very much slowed down on the other platforms, but I doubt it is beneficial for the impatient audiences.
Any love triangle? I saw some comments below talking about her ex? She still likes him or spend too much time…
yep there's that trope too. But the husband and rival are united when it comes to protecting FL, and upfront about their feelings in later episodes when the childhood friend appears. She stays aloof with both who press their suit , she often shies away from both except as necessary in her company, stays closer to husband when he is injured. It's going to be unrequited pining for the "ex" and sizzle with the husband, before and after some tropey misunderstandings which got resolved through lust evolving into love. There are many hilarious over the top moments. This is not a "serious drama" so should not be assessed on same scale as "deeper ones". It is a light and fun pastime for those who have not caught the woke bug. Some want to say it is "bad" because of ... (their splitting hairs to deconstruct it.) I'd say it is a good "hot cult" item and not a moral blueprint for actual behavior in real life. The ML is hot, handsome and wolfish, including his often seen large size shoes, and the FL has a pretty face, plays better than I expected. The rival and the villain half sister are as expected.
Laughing. Of course, he was excellent in those 10 episodes. Arresting face and powerful chemistry too, as everyone noticed when he was the Duke in The Double. We did not see enough of Wu Xuanyi, but she was a fun one too, when she "terrorized" her wanton husband (did she once bring a brick?!), but defended him in front of her family, and made up with him like a kitten when she thought he saved her... She also was a good support in the ep10 schemes to save KN from the marriage to the scholar, and convince elder sister that another match was more desirable.
I was surprised there weren't any discussion topics, thanks for the heads up about the odd "glitch"
or on the direct link given by twinty (thanks for liking my Notes, twinty!) But generally yes, some dramas seem devoid of discussion items when they are only "hidden" by MDL. If you click on my Notes, you will get the full explanation to why, and a link to another "perfect match" in real life !
He actually never saw his wife before or for three years after his "forced marriage". Never listened to her, never wanted to get near and to get to know her, being convinced that she was a despicable "ambitious schemer" intent on bleeding him dry for money and making his life a living hell if he let her get the upper hand. So even without knowing her, he hated her totally, like some would hate a demoness from reputation. He was also extremely prejudiced against women who lived from their charms, such as escorts, hence his extremely funny (albeit expected) reaction to her trying to present her company's offers, in the first episodes.
Nevertheless we may wonder how they got the pictures taken for the household registry, to get through the necessary approval at Family Affairs bureau, then. It's ok that he stored away the booklet down in a drawer without wanting to look at it, but I don't think it would have been possible to use a proxy and glue or photoshop pictures together for the legal document. That's one tiny, bottomless p(l)othole in this story, which has other ones, but it's ok, they are bridged over by sizzle and fun pictures and dialogues. Or...., maybe he was drugged with gang rape drugs when he went to do the paperwork and pictures, and did not remember his own marriage? To be imagined.
Ep29 "All the other parts can be injured. This part can't. It's about our future." 😂🤣 yes... I thought I'd refrain to binge watch last episodes on the 31st. But then I peeked 😂🤣
if i didnt know this drama have 36 episodes i would have already believed that episode 10 was the ending Lol
If it was called " The Story of Kangning", yes it could safely end there, but the title is Five Blessings, so since 2 are married off, we still have 3 to wait for. Btw the pentagon relationship chart blurred the lines well for suspense with that "engagement" line.... Now there is a hint that there will be a "replacement" bride and it looks like Shouhua is ready to "sacrifice" despite the apparent large "age gap"? Onward to the next instalment in the Li family saga. At least we shall be spared the awful wait for a "season 2" ! 😂
