We'll have to rewatch it when better subs are out hahaha not that I'm complaining. I'm ready to re-binge this
I put it on hold for now. Not that I am not eager to watch, just don't want to be distracted too much by strange subtitling and am too lazy to go all the way to raw, also since this is only part 1 and part 2 of FP will be on air only in a few months or more. Leaving some suspense will make it easier for me to do the necessary re watch then...
I can’t even join the discussion, no new episode on Viki, or express package 😢
Just be patient and appreciate the valiant volunteers translation toil. No need to hurry since there is an upcoming continuation "sequel" "season2"... not in the immediate future since official rule stipulate "a long gap" between max length season 1 and season 2 which has 24 episodes scheduled and already passed review, but of course no airing date yet.
¿Los tocados de novia de la princesa psicópata, por un lado, y la segunda concubina (espía) que colocan en…
Just mentioning. Her name is not Mu Dan as in family name+given name. It is Mudan (which means peony). It's a familiar, "trademark", nickname, probably self chosen, since He Weifang is her official name.
and according to rules, it won't be before a long while 🥴
ah, so you think they did find a way to worm around the rule, based on the sequel book. Some hope for "a few months" then in your crystal ball? But Jin Xiu Fang Hua is still going to go by English title Flourished Peony2. (Companies did not manage to bend the rule for Joy of Life or Eternal Brotherhood despite there are several "books" there. Of course JoL3 has not started filming or has it? But EB cut2 is languishing on a shelf for years now). FP2 is filmed and passed review for 24 eps but it is unclear when they will air: only rumors for "summer" or "March" whenever from what they say in comments on the relevant drama page
It is not bad if you don't have to wait for the next episode. The way the leads work together after this is wonderful…
Twinty meant the LEADS, Mudan and Jiang, about the millet scandal and aftermath. The despicable husband is going to get his just deserts, but Shengyi is going to disappear totally.
Watch again in a few months. That is what I plan to do.
that's the trouble with these shows, they will need some refreshing re-watching prior to embarking on the second part in many months, not heeding "time consumed". Well, let's be content, if the powers that be don't leave audience hanging for years like Joy of Life.... Maybe it's a ploy to get more clicks and ads revenue? Watching the ads interruptions was both annoying and funny : often, the leads were advertising (Li Xian with an almost sarcastic gleam in eyes) brands that are not known outside China, so it added a sense of alien-ness; there was also one very chubby kid advertising milk, don't know if you noticed. Of course, watching on Viki takes away the full sitcom experience since ads are weeded out there.
Why did release all the remaining episodes at once 😍
probably because it is soon going to be Chinese New Year, many are already packing bags or travelling so won't be watching dramas, and according to rules, there must be a long gap until season 2 continuation is released.
it is almost over, so now to bring everything back on track, send the villains to prison, and do a festive happy end? This drama could have benefited from better cuts (and script) in longer episodes. It was a bit knee jerk like. Like, literally, in ep.22 despite it was sooooo expected 🤫
Answer to your question about other drama (although it's best not to delve on other ones on a drama comments page). Therefore, under "spoilers" and other readers may skip if they look for spoilers about the current Everlasting Longing drama.... ----
I was in for a marathon of Tang period dramas (and Song ones) + I like a lot Zhao Lusi, Liu Yuning, Tan Songyun, Yang Zi, Li Xian, so I had to watch The Story of Pearl Girl, Brocade Odyssey, Flourished Peony (and Riverside Code at Qingming Festival). I liked them all.
The three Tang ones were a treasure trove of well researched details with help from specialists, even from the Chengdu Brocade museum. I like that, food for thought, incentive to learn more...
All three dramas are about "strong women seeking independence in trade", having to deal with a historic society where women were slaves, indentured servants, military camp target practice, entertainer prostitutes, oppressed wives of peasants and richer families, concubines... Carving their way out of difficult situations without yielding to "powerful males" or looking forward to "get married and live a blissful marital life with kids ever after". Not Cinderellas, they wanted to earn their independence. Building a strong companionship on gaining respect. The powerful males there grew to help them realize their dreams. But these are not simple love and kisses romances; there is also quite some pain in these "growing independent" pursuits since the society they lived in was more oppressing than nurturing of females , and tradespeople even grouped in guilds were less valued than noblemen.
As to whether you SHOULD watch the dramas, that's up to you, to your mood and the time you want to spend. There is no such thing as "must watch" dramas in my view. Just give them a try if you feel like it, don't be too influenced by the avalanche of comments (both lead couples have unfortunately shrill and devious haters who spew venom, so better not watch comments until much later, when you have a real opinion: the comments are generally very polarized now on MDL, not the easy and playful banter that used to accompany readers, it looks like some prefer to ruin the pleasure of others) . But since these dramas are long and perhaps not your style of entertainment, don't feel ashamed to not watch and not rate. You should not feel bound by other's opinions, just enjoy what you like freely, and share your positive thoughts rather than too much negativity.

Hi Dreams, you got that message in duplicate here. I just noticed season 17 dropped today on Youtube, so will take a peek 😅 Wishing you a blessed 2025 and "snakey" year !
Her best serie for me was this https://kisskh.at/19028-general-and-i extremely recommend it and WOW ost…
There's that risk. That's why I watch very different genre dramas at same time, i.e. historical costume Flourished Peony, xianxia Moonlight Mystique, a short episode modern unmentionable thriller one, Drifting away gritty crime ; perhaps will throw in some episodes of Village Love 17 just for the countryside vibes now that CNY is nearing
(but that will be just for relaxation like the unmentionable one where I was looking forward to watch more of Dai Gaozheng's spectacular abs! but am not really thrilled by the story, anyway, the episodes are very short, so not much time wasted there. If on the other hand I stayed with the countryside drama, that dropped today, that's another story since the episodes are 43-45' and there are 40 forecast! I never heard about the actors who are definitely not from the usual idol crowd) 😅
I still have not got past opening credits of this drama here, so perhaps will put it on hold since it has not managed to grab me yet. I have no opinion on whether or not it is worth the while, will make my own "later" rather than rely on third party opinion.
Have fun c-drama watching, and enjoy a blessed 2025 and snakey year! (we use to say "small dragon year", among the famous natives : Xi Jinping, Mao Zedong, Bob Dylan, JK Rowling.... and my niece, who loves to sting and inject - she is a registered nurse lol)

As usual when I notice details I'd like explanations for, I did my research and added "companion pieces" to illustrate them with pictures and GIF. You can have a look here at these two pieces, either as introduction, help along watching, looking for specific info, or just curiosity.
They are organized in chapters linked through a clickable Table of contents.

But I have not launched companion pieces for FP and RCAQF : it is quite tiring to do that sort of job, and I have too little time, need more rest.
