Seems like sth I might like too bad reading manhwas makes it hard for me to read novels, I find novel more time consuming and less interesting since I have to use my imagination 😂 I’m too lazy for that. With manhwa I can easily skip and not miss anything.

I read the novel like four years ago. I don’t remember every detail, but thank you for reminding me of the thousand reasons why I don’t like Huacheng.

Too bad, because I really liked San Lang in the first season of HOB, he’s literally the reason I even picked up the novel. But that backstory? Totally ruined him for me. Hua Cheng went from mysterious and charming to an obsessive creep with zero actual personality 😒

Oh, and one thing that’s always bugged me , what’s Hua Cheng’s real body supposed to be? Like, didn’t he die at 15 or 16? A scrawny, malnourished kid? So this tall, gorgeous, black-haired man we see now… that’s not even his real body, right? 🤨

I liked San Lang too, but honestly? I wish their love story had started in the present life. It would’ve made so much more sense. And don’t get me started on how overpowered Huacheng is. Every life-death moment had zero tension because, surprise, surprise 😂 he’s gonna save the day again 🙄 And the flirting mid-chaos? Not cute. I was literally stressed for their lives and they’re over here being all flirty and kissy in mid air like, please, read the room! 😂

Also, Huacheng’s attitude toward everyone else? Nope. The man acts like Xielian is the only person worth acknowledging. You’re telling me in 800 years he didn’t meet a single person worth forming a decent friendship with? Be serious. And the whole “I’ve stayed a virgin for 800 years for my one true love” storyline... please. 🙄

Now, Qi Rong? He’s my favorite. I actually like him more than Xielian. I always felt Xielian kinda abandoned him like, saving the world is good and all, but your cousin’s out here about to be kidnapped and you can’t even check in? No wonder Qi Rong’s bitter. I loved that scene in season two when he finally called Xielian out I was like, YES, 👏🏼 👏🏼 drag him!!

It’s wonderful when someone agrees with you on something right?
I liked Huacheng after watching first season of HOB, before I read the novel, but that changed after I read his backstory in the novel, I wasn’t comfortable with the fact that he fell for Xielian when he was only a child, I doubt a child can understand love enough to sacrifice himself for the person they love, even if they don’t think they have anything else worth living for. Huacheng’s love to me felt like idolatry, devotion a follower would have for someone who they literally consider their god. And the more I read of his backstory the more annoyed I was, every damn thing was about Xielian, I just wanted Huacheng to have something anything that didn’t have to do with Xielian. His rude personality wasn’t cool at all, it was just annoying for me. Anyhow, so by extension I also stopped liking Xielian 😂

And I love Qi Rong, especially after watching the second season of HOB.

I was obsessed with HOB, but soon after I started reading fan fics about Muqing and others I completely forgot about the main couple especially Hua Cheng even disliked him in the end 😅
I really hate it when the only thing going on for the ml is their love and obsession for the mc.

After the friends death, don’t get where the plot is going
Apparently he’s supposed to enlighten that guy who pretended to be his friend

Fair enough but I don’t like characters that manipulate and rape their way into a relationship.
I simply can’t root for them, that’s all.

Well I guess people are used to it and can easily excuse anything done by characters who are hot/cute
Some even say no need to be concerned because it’s just fiction 😅
Fictional or not I can’t stand when a story relies on over used tropes especially when those tropes are very problematic and dangerous irl

Jianxi seemed very uncomfortable during most of those scenes, as if he was just putting up with Atuo in order not to lose their friend ship
I dropped at ep 4, didn’t even finish that episode
The acting is terrible,
Don’t know who told that throwing kiss scenes every too seconds would save this show.

I was just sharing my own perspective, and it’s okay if you don’t get my pov ✌️

I still think human life is of higher value than that of animals
I’d be wary of people that put their pets lives above the lives of other people.

As for Chi Cheng he had a family, unless you don’t consider his mom dad and sister family. I don’t claim that people are usually nice nor kind, but despite our many flaws as humans, I still believe human life is more valuable than that of animals.

That’s why I was annoyed when Chi Cheng was hesitant to kill the snake that was literally strangling Wei Wei. His attachment to his snakes put Wei Wei’s life in danger, and I hated him for that.

I didn’t understand the prevalence of sa in bl portrayed as romantic till I started reading yaoi manhwas that’s when I realized I prolly had underestimated the problem

It’s not only normalized but celebrated
Yaois that have healthier relationships are less popular, the toxic ones are the ones that get most attention
No wonder many authors just follow the rap* then romance formula because sadly that’s what sells 🥺

The gang rape bothered me too till now
