It's because they didn't have the actress playing OG JBY. If Somin was to be available, there would be her in there, as happened in S1. They went for young JBY for this reason.

I just wanted to say that as frustrating and stubborn NN can be, I do understand her and I think it's important…
Very good point of why the break was needed. What I hated is what CSS became. Depressed and very far away from who she was in the first episode. I get the depression part, but how could she not find any joy in anything after the heartbreak? It's been 5 years. A hobby or something at least. Smile at a kid or do one of your crafts for the queen, dunno. Instead she became a shell and a lot dumber instead of smarter (as it was supposed to).

Your take is so so good I wised they hired you in the first place. This makes so so much sense. And it shows CSS growth and slightly getting closer to lby.

I would have been okay with the fast pacing if they were to make her smarter and more practical. Like, in the book she was the one tricking LJT. And also do some inner work and be like "I might have been wrong". She's not charming anymore in the last episodes. I miss the "I can do well by myself" girl she was supposed to be. She told that to the 3rd prince and clearly was a lie because she was miserable without lby. Also she doing her thing.

I mean, it's realistic and all but we, as viewers, are supposed to still like the main characters. I get you can be heartbroken, but it's been 5 years. You could smile and laugh at other things. I've been heartbroken before, and while short term it sucks, long term you find joy in other things and start to work on yourself. Like one user said, nobody hold her accountable for what she's become. She was practical so she should have thought that life goes on.

And lby... what I loved the most about his character is the fact he always knew she was the one and went for it. where did that energy go? I understand he thought he didn't deserve her anymore, but it was what I liked about him. He became a typical main lead in the end.

The drama lacks momentum. I mean, the ol' "i thought you were dead" trope doesn't work for me unless they take more time for reflecting.

And the "you're forgiving me because you're embracing me" neither. I wanted CSS to say "i was wrong" or something along the line.

Wished they went with what you're saying.

I truly loved this drama until about 5 episodes from the end. Now I have three to go and I'm not sure I care what…
Same here. I hated how they made her character depressed. In the book she was different, more practical and scheming. In the last episodes of the drama they dumbed her down to justify all the saving. Also the writers stripped both characters (css and lby) of their charms. Lby 's "you're the one" energy was so strong in the book, it's a pity they changed that.

It's an amazing drama, the ending is decent enough but I hated it from 52 episode up. Thrre was so many pointless scenes, the reconciliation was meh (I thought they would make css reflect on her unforgiveness) and it felt like the chemestry was missing (were they in love? Wouldn't say it)

I had saved your post just in case the thread moves at lightning speed, that I would miss it. Thank you for critiquing…
Drag it put and speed up last moment. They had 3 people trying to kill her in no time. Plus the main characters Lost their spark. Wished they'd follow the novel in the ending

Really hate the fact that the writers dragged their separation for the last 5 episodes and even when they get…
The last episodes made me forget they were ever in love. Poitnless scenes and changed of personality in the main characters

thoughts on LLTG:All everybody seems to be talking about is how Zisheng knew she had abandonment issues but I…
I finally understood why lby had to take revenge. My only problem with him is his expectations from her. He can't be sincere and trust her so why did he expect and ask for the exact thing from css. This was not ok.

To be fair, I was critical of lby before watching the 47-52 episodes. But after watching I found his actions justified. I think css should have worked it out with him instead of running away. And again, the ending was so rushed and the changes in their personalities so unbelievable (at least for me) that it's an eh from me.

I wanted to truly see CSS realizing she made a mistake.

Okay... more ramblings... for Episodes 52-54a (first half of 54)https://40somethingahjumma.substack.com/p/love-like-the-galaxy-2022-episodes-195Thanks…
Such a good take on the ending. I wasn't fully convinced by the novel's ending, but when I saw the drama I wished they'd follow it.

I hated how depressed CSS was. What I loved most about her was how practical she was. I loved the "i can do well without LBY" line she told the 3rd prince but... Where did that energy go? She not only did not to well without him, she was completely miserable. They stripped her off her charm (fun and innocence) which I could get, but how could she become so impractical and almost dumb. In the book I read that she was smarter and tricked people instead of needing lby to save her non stop (in the ending she became reaaally helpless). I can't blame any of this on the edit. It was bad writing.

And what I loved most about lby was his determination that css was the only one for him. Also gone.

Most of the drama the writing was better than the book but the ending is way better in the book.

You said it well in your review

Yass one of the queens has spoken. So glad you're done because I've been so curious for your thoughts as I took…
We needed some build up to the reconciliation and some scenes after to remember how much in love they were.

I almost forgot they were ever in love with all the angst and depression. Also a bits of comedy would have helped to digest the ending. And they have plenty of scenes in the book to borrow for it

They didn't give us time to grieve as an audience.

The complete change in their personalities was a turn off for me. Like the main characters lost what made them special and what we loved about them:

CSS her liveliness and innocence. She became depressed.

LBY his determination and go-getterness. He gave up on CSS after a whole 40 episodes od "you are the only one for me". I mean, his love for her was his charm.

I understand maturing but what I don't get is how the writers found ok to "mature" them stripping them of what made us fall in love with them.

I wanted to see more of CSS practical thinking and moving on and more of LBY 'you're still the only one for me', instead of depression and passiveness.

The ending feels too rushed. I liked the novel's better.

Although the writers did a great job in part 1, they messed up in the end.

i don't know whether to feel happy about this drama or sad i felt energized watching their story unfold especially…
Felt the same way. I mean.. I get maturing and all, but we fell in love with the main characters for:

CSS: I loved her charming, funny and innocent self. I missed her being herself. She became a depressed lifeless being. Not completely unrealistic, but was a turn off for me.

LBY: I loved his "you're the one and I will get you". In the book at least he started pursuing her again. In the drama, he lost all his determination. Turn off also.

I love maturing but how can they lose everything that made them special? I am supposed to still like them and believe they should belong together. All the angst made me forget they were ever in love.

And the script... So funny at the start and even in the middle. They had a few funny scenes in the books but where they at?

At least I'm glad the separation was short. So we don't have to watch thrm for long

If you haven’t read the novel, the last few episodes would still feel a bit rush and the last arc felt like…
I agree with it. I wasn't convinced by the forgiveness in the book but the ending in the drama was way more disappointing. I mean, she became a depressed human being and lost all her charm. He lost his determination and had to be convinced not to give up on her. Like I understand all the realistic stuff, but we fell in love with them for a reason, a reason that was no longer there in the ending.

I was a big CSS fan. She was immature but she had a charm that made her one of the best characters from dramas. LBY's pursue of CSS and determination to get her dissapeared in the end.

I like realism, but this is a not it. With CSS practical thinking made sense deciding to be engaged to YS. And with LBY determination to pursue her again.

It was a superb drama. The ending is lacking and is rushed. I needed some trust building to make it believable. A good drama overall

Leave their ass so that my heart wouldn't be crushed like that again. There would be no trust at all.
This. Wasn't convinced by the book but even less by the ending of the drama, where there was no trust building at all. This is what I expect in life. If you betray me and break my heart, if I get to give you a second chance or you want one, earn my trust again slowly till I decide that I can trust yo with my heart again. Not using a traumatic event to get us together. The drama is a 10, the ending a 6

It felt like they used up all the good scenes for before the revenge and there was nothing left for the after.
