What bothers me is exactly that: making her fall in love with him and tossing her away for his revenge. I want the writers to make it convincing because, if not, the only love that is like a galaxy in CSS's for LBY.

You explained it so well. I also understand why he ends up hurting CSS that much. I'm curious how the writers will handle the forgiveness/reconciliation stage. I wasn't convinced by the book explanation.

Even if you love someone you also need that person to treat you right for it to be considered love. I'm not saying their relationship is one sided nor toxic, but still what he did to her was wrong. I want to see some consequences.

Maybe I'm biased because I like CSS more, and I'm more on the rational side of love. I don't want a sad ending either, I only want them to make it convincing enough.

The best way to pay the price is a sad ending. Making a choice and ending up realizing what he lost is way more important than what he gained.

That's why I want to see what the writers got for us (I'm not a writer, I don't know what he should be doing to earn her forgiveness). From the book, I'm not convinced yet. My conclusion (if they do the same as the book) I'll take the forgiveness as CSS's choice, even if I don't agree with it, she's free to go back to him.

After all CSS is going to go through (betrayed and almost dead) it would be nice for them to make it convincing enough.

There's a dialogue in the book where he regrets his decision and wished he would have waited a few more years before taking revenge. I mean, I want to see the consequences of his choice because mostly it looks like she is going to pay the highest price. Abandoned, ridiculed, betrayed and with low chances of a better future.

I can't imagine being almost forced to marry someone, that person makes you fall in love with them and then ripping your heart like it's nothing.

I understand his choice given where he comes from. But at the same time I want him to pay the price for betraying CSS trust. She is so innocent, he should have left her alone instead of dragging her through this pain. I hope he regrets what he did.

I'm more curious how they will handle the forgiveness part. I was not convinced by the book spoilers. Hope the writers improve that.

I hope the writers give us a good enough reason for her forgiving him because, as we are know, if he chooses revenge and gives her up she's better off without him for life.

I'd hate a sad ending but I also want CSS to be treated well and right now he made her fall in love with him and trust him just to betray her later on. I don't think it was intentional but I want him to pay the full price of his choice and her forgiveness to not come that easy. But seeing how the revenge arc didn't even start yet, I'm afraid they will rush things and make it hard to believe.

He said he would never ever break the engagement. And he then accepted to give her up. I read the dialogue and it's quite telling. She said "you make me fall in love with you, trust you etc and you pulled the carpet out from under feet" or something along the lines. It's the betrayal. She would have never give him up.

Same here. And I liked how he was honest with his mother about his feelings. So unexpected. I thought he would deny it. Maybe he's not a bad option after all.

He was selfish in pursuing her knowing his heart will always belong to revenge.

I don't think he shouldn't do it. But maybe he should have left her alone and not drag her and make her fall in love with him. Or, as you say, discuss it with her. From what I read he will regret his choice in the future because, let's be honest. Going on a killing spree wasn't a good plan from the beginning. More like an impulsive action. A plan would be plotting and scheming for years to get his revenge. But I guess patience is not his forte.

Same here. I feel so bad for CSS. She deserves honesty and being loved. I hope the writers make a good point in why she decides to forgive him because I don't see how he deserves it based on the novel. The fact that he didn't care at all for the consequences is quite telling about his feelings for her.

Without a good reason I would def prefer him to end up alone like YS's master. Losing someone for real teaches you.
