I was disappointed when realizing he actually did it for his revenge first and for SS second.

As a character SS is super charming. I find it too believable that many people want to help her or are in love with her. If I had a sister like here, I'd behave like the aunt or the queen

I thought the same. In my opinion, revenge is def more important than SS. He is not as reckless as he appeared to be when "revenging " SS: he found a good opportunity to steal those archives and took it while revenging SS (she is a subplot like you said). I was a little disappointed at this, not gonna lie. It's not a love like a galaxy, it's hate like the galaxy. I hope they make convincing she forgiving him, because I don't think she should.

But, on the bright sight, I thought before this episode LBY was a character that actually doesn't exist, with that much love he showed for her. After the ending of ep 38, I realized he is human after all.

I thought he would take revenge for her. I was a little disappointed his main priority is still his revenge. Which actually explains his future actions.

I read somewhere the wan family was supposed to be accused of something. And the part where her fam is in prison doesn't appear in the book. My guess is nobody in her family dies.

The aides were the ones inciting 5th princess behaviours. She told her mother once what they were teaching her (about doing what men do etc.). I mean, it's not that I agree with it, I think it's extreme. But with what the princess said, the emperor took extreme measures to cut the problem from the root.

Yeah, but for me it's good he has less flaws or struggles. From a love triangle point of view, it's better if the second lead is not as well written. No more SLS. Watching Startup I realized writing a good SL and a weak ML could lead to people liking the first one more.

Weak main lead and a strong second lead. You're right, if we didn't have HJP contrasting NDS, maybe we wouldn't have noticed his huge red flags. But then, who would be watching it?

Writing was horrible, I agree. You can't take a classic story that teaches "inner beauty is what really matters and people fall in love with who people are and not how the look", and turn it into "falling in love with people for their looks and "big hands"". I expected a plot twist or something, because I couldn't imagine someone experienced would think this is a good plot. But boy, was I wrong.

All character development went down the drain after episode 9.

It's not a bad drama if you're a teen in love with NJH visuals and don't care about how the world really works and how healthy relationships look like. Which is basically how teenagers think. All dreams come true no matter what and I like the hot guy.

Which doesn't make me mad at all.

For me, it's the lost potential what saddens me. Were the writing to be different, this drama would be in my rewatch list. Not anymore tho
