Started binge-watching from Ep 1 today. Cho Yi Hyun looks so gorgeous in this, and her acting is top-notch! She has been carrying the entire show on her shoulders IMO. Also, the SML has been written well in the story, and he acts as a support system for both FL and ML, like a true friend. I just finished Ep 5 and felt deeply emotional. The entire episode, especially the ending, tugged at my heartstrings. What a brilliant piece of writing as well as acting!

I strongly agree with you. This drama is very special for me. I however, rewatches it annually. Just finished Ep 13 right now. This drama made me feel things and emotions that no other drama, neither domestic (Indian) nor international (primarily American) made me feel. A close second is another Korean Drama "My Mister" starring IU.
Rewatched this masterpiece the 4th time. The final 5 minutes of the Ep 13 where an alternate reality is shown is one of the most heartbreaking and goosebumps inducing emotional stuff I have ever seen in a Korean drama. It connects with me so well and I suppose with everyone else watching this drama because everyone at least once in their life have thought about "what could have happened if I did this differently" and have ran the scenario in their head only to woke up to a reality that is completely different of what we just imagined. This drama is a masterpiece for healing hearts and souls.
This drama is really a hidden gem and I know why it was not popular at time of its airing. The current crop of K-Drama viewers after Covid has very shallow taste and they just love the fantasy part of the K-Drama land and just want to indulge in their own bubble. They would rather see cliched fluffy rom com in which the male lead who is a rich chaebol heir / boss saves the damsel in distress poor female lead who works as employee / secretary for the same company as the male lead. These type of people don't like nuances. I too have fun watching these kind of shows but once in a while we should give chance to dramas like Dali and the cocky prince as well to clean our palette. Forgive me for my rant. Peace out.
Also, I have to say that this drama really has a great showcase of how someone is affected in real life when their loved one dies. The sadness and grief never dilute it's just that we learn to live and move on with our lives. Dali is a strong, independent woman who is smart and gives her absolute best in running her museum. But she is not an invincible person. She has her limitations, and she knows them as well. That's why we sometimes see her taking help from her close ones, but that does not make her a damsel in distress; she is far away from that.
Watched 2 more episodes. This is one of the finest example of criminally underrated shows that neither got its due while airing nor people recommend it afterwards.
Watched the first episode and Wow! what a unique backdrop! First time watching a K-Drama set in Amsterdam. Park Gyu Young looked so stunning and gorgeous throughout the episode. Kim Min Jae was so adorable in his mannerism as well. Had some genuine laugh out loud moments. Hooked.
Loved every bit of the pure chaos in the last 15 mins of so in the episode 4! This is getting better and better with every episode. Anyone who is getting bored and brain dead should drop this right now instead of complaining about it in the comment section.
I don't care what other people think about this drama but in my opinion this is hella entertaining! All the characters are actually interesting and there is so much scope for character development that I know for sure by the end everyone who currently looks a little weak in the story because of their timid actions and behaviour will definitely change and turn around giving us a great show.
I think not every show should have likeable and perfect characters from the start and its the job of the plot to make us like them eventually.
On the other hand, its absolutely criminal how handsome, good looking and charming Seo Kang Joon is! I am a straight man but still can't resist his coolness! Jung Hae Seong is a great character and the only reason I watch this drama every week.

I understand where you are coming from since even I also love good character development while reading especially Japanese manga. However, after watching many American shows in the past I have became very desensitized to onscreen character deaths and generally feel that in order to raise the stakes of the story, few characters both good and awful needs to die either poetically or in a shocking manner to give some gravitas to the situation otherwise it feels that everyone has plot armour and the story feels convenient. Hard agree on Sangwoo, he was a badly written character indeed.
