Most of Netflix originals are incredible, though. I get where you're coming from, but you should watch with open…
Yeah I also feel the same. Netflix India has been producing way shittier content than Netflix Korea and thats why I am actually more jealous of Netflix KDramas. I was blown away by Kingdom as a horror genre fan. And was thrilled when they adapted one of my favourite Webtoon "Sweet Home".
I understand that some of the Kdramas exclusive for Netflix are having American TV problems but I still think…
Yeah, I am in the same boat as you. I have been watching KDramas actively since 2016. Have watched a few American shows that were too popular here in India but mostly I am glued to my laptop screen watching KDramas and I even read Korean Webtoons as well.
Can you recommend your top 3 Chinese Dramas to me? I have been wanting to swim in the Chinese Drama ocean but don't know which island to go to.
I understand that some of the Kdramas exclusive for Netflix are having American TV problems but I still think…
Yeah, I definitely can't argue with you on this point. Big Tech in the US is publicly very woke and censorship is pretty hotly debated. But Netflix Korea is at least trying to serve some KDramas with a darker tone with blood and gore which I could not see before Netflix in the traditional Korean channels.

I think everyone has different tastes and things appealing to one may be boring to someone else. I still do find Extracurricular really appealing as I was shocked to find the main protagonists of a KDRAMA to be morally ambiguous which was the first time in my KDrama-watching experience. Squid Game though for me had more Japanese vibes as I have read a large number of Japanese manga having the survival game genre.
Yeah, I agree that K-films have absolutely been bolder since long before Netflix. And I have yet to watch "Strangers from Hell", will definitely check that out thanks for mentioning it.
I agree with the censorship part as well the responsibility part. I still think that the traditional channels keep making what the general public desires and don't challenge them the way an external player like Netflix could. Though due to competition with Netflix they are also getting better, I have to agree.
-_- Netflix… (and the rest of them lot)As soon as Kdramas gets bogged by American TV problems, people are going…
I understand that some of the Kdramas exclusive for Netflix are having American TV problems but I still think there is hope as due to lack of censorship in Netflix, absolute gems like Kingdom, Sweet Home, Extracurricular, Squid Game are being produced by Netflix who otherwise would never have been produced by traditional companies. I have my fingers crossed for upcoming Netflix KDramas.
The reasons you listed are exactly why I normally don't watch legal dramas as they tend to bore me with their…
Yes romance is definitely part of slice of life. But for me I have seen romance being unfolded countless times in a KDrama but the emotions I am constantly experiencing due to the special circumstances of EAW are very unique. I am so rooting for her to show the world that discrimination of any form whether done to an autistic person is wrong and everyone should be given fair chance to express themselves and live their lives to the utmost.
Eun Bin's is an amazing actor, love her. Unlike you i am hoping for a romance. I will look out for Miss Hammurabi.
Miss Hammurabi is a great watch as it tells the story from judges's point of view which was the first time I ever felt interest in knowing about how decisions are made in court after the arguments from both sides.
Such a phenomenal legal Kdrama after such a long time. Park Eun Bin's acting is the highlight of this show. For the first time in Kdrama history, the cases shown in a legal drama are neither complex nor require 220 IQ to understand or to solve and the best thing is the lawyers are using 'law' instead of fighting with their fists or overdramatic speeches to sway the emotions of the viewers. It's such a realistic and fresh take on the over-saturated legal Kdrama trope that we have been watching for a long time. I don't give 2 f@$ks about the romance between FL & ML because that's not the focal point of this drama exactly like Miss Hammurabi (2018) which is still my favorite legal Kdrama of all time.
Once upon a time, I used to select what to watch next depending on the drama's rating on mydramalist being >= 8.5. Thank God I gave this drama this chance because of the charm of Moon Ga Young and this drama has been a banger since then. The rating 8.3 does not justify how good the drama is.
lee kyun young a rapist is here casted huh cant believe it wow
Bro, I agree that production houses should try to avoid casting people having criminal records like him, but we should understand that the purpose of the legal system is not to bury or isolate criminals but to reform them and make them reflect upon their crimes and to pay some good price for their sins. He was found guilty of indulging in prostitution, not rape. as rape is having intercourse without consent and was ordered 160 hours of social service and 10 months of prison time with two years of probation and that was some 2 decades ago. I am not taking his side but I am asking this question to you and other people as well is What does a human being have to do so that society will forgive them? Till when we can ride the wave of illogical cancel culture? I think we must definitely think inwards and try to become more empathetic and ask this question to ourselves How will I feel if I am continuously being punished for the crime committed by the 20-year-old version of me and for which I had already completed my legal/moral/ethical punishment? I feel sorry if you think I attacked your opinion or anything. I just wanted to some dissent and I fully respect your freedom of speech.
I can't believe an Indian is saying that: what about rapes happening regularly in your country and the perps get…
@Selbee His comment here is not to fix the world. No comment on any social media can fix the world. But you sure should try to fix the racist lens you are wearing. kisskh is a light-hearted platform so please keep your political opinions reserved for Twitter.
I was surprised at the last scene of Ep 11 as I have not seen such a steamy scene in Kdrama land since what's wrong with Secretary Kim & I am not complaining if you know what I mean :-)
Just drop the drama already saying just because of Jisoo and then underestimating her hard work just an ungrateful…
Don't let the people get under your skin for just voicing your opinion. It is the most pathetic characteristic of any online discussion on any platform nowadays that people are often triggered by anything which is even remotely critical of something which they love and then they start their passive aggressive behaviour to scare the dissenter away. MDL is a beautiful platform and you are very welcome on this thread for your opinion. Fellow BLINK here :-)
sakshi ...... if you want romance then go and watch private life and what's wrong with secretory. They have all…
@uki I think let the drama complete first so that we can judge its greatness as a whole not just bits and pieces of it. Masterpiece or not, the drama is definitely trying to do some things which have never been tried before in KDrama land for which it genuinely needs appreciation. Please don't be rude to people just because they don't like things the way you like. Everyone has different expectations and sometimes people become upset from dramas that don't meet their expectations. Try to embrace everyone who is participating in this community and don't try to shut their voice. I love private life and WRWSK's so-called cringe scenes as they have some of the most hottest and intense swoon-worthy scenes which melted the hearts of many viewers like us.
there is most definitely romance in this drama, whether it between the two leads or the side couples. just because…
Yes they were shown, I have been watching KDramas for past 5 years and have seen the audience for fluffy KDrama romance is far greater than any other KDrama genre among the international netizens. Only recently since Netflix came to the scene, I guess after Kingdom slowly by slowly the taste of international netizens has been changing and now the other genre are shining as well globally (with Squid Game accelerating it) but still romance dramas take the biggest piece of cake. People have genuinely not seen KDramas gems like My Mister etc. where romance is subtle or slow burn, or legal dramas like Miss Hammurabi where romance takes backseat for plot development still providing its viewers the KDrama magic. Therefore, political black comedies like Snowdrop seems very unfamiliar to the vanilla KDrama audience.
do u think jisoo would have done this drama if she thought the plot was boring.. we all did expect the many twist…
All the best for your KDrama journey! Even if you don't like other KDramas as much it will still be worth exploring the culture of South Korea as its charismatic and unique.
