Title Tree with Deep Roots Spoiler
It's strange how no one ever talks about the villain. I feel like I have to defend him even though I liked Sejong a lot but one of the selling points of this was the villain. He is making such an indescribably huge point about what Sejong is doing but I think because a lot of us take writing for granted we can't quite see it. Furthermore, what the villain says has happened throught out history. The knowledge of the peasants pretty much destroyed confucianism and also the class system. The peasants with knowledge also gained power. This meant wars, the abolishment of monarchies and the destruction of a lot of old school values. Yet, Sejong's point is also true, you have the foundation of a democracy and a more knowledgeable people, etc. Furthermore, a lot of people die from both sides meaning ultimately, there is no villain. They both pickled my brain so well and made this so enjoyable.
