Ahh, I watched the entirety of this because of Baron Chen, Wow, that guy is so good looking. As for the story,…
There's also exceptions. I myself dropped the drama because I do have a low tolerance for ambiguity and the forcing of social norms on an unconventional situation. I mean if you like someone whom you don't know is a girl, there really should be a more thorough exploration of sexuality here. However, there are people who are pansexual. I used to think it was so black and white until I grew older and realized I was far too philosophical for that. I also know someone who has declared herself straight but has "experimented" with a female, and I do genuinely believe she is "straight" as she is very much attracted to guys. I know people who've been in situations where they've solely been attracted to one person of the same sex and no one else. I liken it to how I don't really like dogs (well more I'm indifferent, adorable they are, but I feel no need to pet strange dogs, plus I simply cannot pick up after them, no ma'am) but my neighbor's dog completely and utterly melted my heart. Perhaps because he reminded me of myself. He was solitary, quiet and would come lay quietly by me but not pester for affection. PS. Yeah, that lead was tots good looking.
No one ever mentions My Lovely Sam Soon and it is the creme de la creme of noona romances. Every other one has simply reminded me of it. I really wasn't a fan of Flower Boy Ramen shop. Definitely on my worst list but the again, I cannot stand Jung Il Woo's acting.
Because this was recommended next to Legal High, I thought surely, I would love it because I love Legal High, sad to say, not really. It has refreshing characters but I found the plot genuinely struggled to move forward and half way through, I just didn't find it funny instead, it became a touch repetitive with the interactions and had to fast forward a lot of bits.
So even if we drop a drama, we're not allowed to write a review because I have almost no desire to finish this drama. Nonetheless, this I posted when it was airing but I can just wait for it to finish and then post my review. In that case, how will you enforce this rule? You don't have anyway of knowing whether I finished or not...
The Heirs was a really odd drama for me. While normally I'm pretty picky about bad dramas, this one just sort…
My same sentiments. I am by no means saying it was a great drama. It just wasn't that bad. Heck, even enjoyable sometimes. I think part of being picky is also knowing what to expect. I didn't go in expecting anything more than it gave. Like, you knew it was going to be filled with clichés, which teen drama isn't? Some moments were also fast forwarded, but overall, to me it wasn't a horrendous experience. It very much knew that it was a teen drama.
I really need to come back to this drama but when they killed Gil Tae Mi, I completely deflated like a balloon. I was looking forward to him every week. Couldn't they have taken Shin Se Kyung instead? 눈_눈
rewatching it for the 4th time, as always; "Amazing"!
FOR THE FOURTH TIME?!! Girl, how do you do it. I almost want to rewatch this just to see if perhaps I watched a different drama from everyone else because I could really barely make it past episode 6. I swear, I almost need to seek out someone who's critical of dramas so they can sit me down like a child and explain to me why everyone likes this.
Writer of the article here. I'm awed by the comments here. Funny, this article was supposed to be deleted as I didn't think it was good enough but my day has been made by all the love here. I have too many ideas in my head. I do plan to make this a series but I am going to do an attack next probably where all this love will probably turn against me, but for now, I shall bask in the positivity. XD
I was asked by a user my opinions of the show & whether its worth watching. Thought I'd paste my response here…
This is a legitimate criticism here that is well said. Honestly, I definitely understand the sentiment there as there were times I do wish they would have delved into his background but I think that was sacrificed in order to fully realise the present. Although, someone said it best underneath. There really is no target for vengeance in this drama. There is no one character whom he could have avenged and this drama would be over. Mei Chang Su himself said it. Only the king and no one else could have fulfilled his goal which was to clear his family name. In some ways devastatingly realistic because it's not like he could have usurped the throne or killed the king. On top of that, his character has to heavily conceal his identity. Plus he has an agonizing shelf life that the viewer is constantly made aware of every time he coughed. If anything, it's his ailing figure, hunched over in the winter cold that fully makes you understand his resolve.
Does anybody know who the actor who plays the emperor is? I think it is a shame that he is not listed since he…
I nearly got goosebumps from this comment because he definitely topped my list among one of the best done characters on here and his acting was absolutely top notch! He played a very complex character that is so easy to overlook but the King here is literally one of the most vital characters of this story and the actor could not have done a better job. He was the perfect balance of ease, anger, passion and even inexplicable devastation.
Just from the cast, I am severely not hopeful. I just have very little faith that the K-drama writers won't fuck this up. This is just a lot of amateurs... I have a feeling this is going to be a romantic comedy and I am dreading this.
I don't want to be a drama writer. I suggest many of them hire me as I can fix the many shit storms I have endured. If you're asking why I still continue to watch, it's cause I'm a masochist and occasionally, the one comes along like Nirvana in Fire that makes you glad you endured the butt plug and whips, other dramas have tortured you with.
I can't believe I forgot about Empress Ki - I could write a book ranting about this drama, in fact, I have a good three page rant about this drama, that if it weren't for laziness I would publicize. I also genuinely gave this one a try (by my standards) but my gosh, Empress Ki is laughably terrible. Disappointing too as I later found out these are the writers from Giant. I really have a hard time believing this because Giant was well paced and excelled in telling it's story, there was none of that in Empress Ki. It's one of those dramas that has no business being historical as the setting really is absolutely wall paper. The directing is noticeably terrible, the way shots pan across the room and focus on someone's back, constant cuts and the way the villains constantly stared at the camera in their tyrannical dialogues before HOWLING with villainous laughter. Fucking terrible stuff (I really could not take it around the third episode). It was also a struggle to swallow the three expressions that Ha Ji Won has. Glaring eyes in anger and her doe eyed surprised look at just about every male interaction (If you haven't watched Empress Ki, kindly see every Ha Ji Won work for reference to this look, it's one that is especially featured in Secret Garden). Then is her occasional crying. However, any other emotion besides this tends to be expressed with that doe eyed look. To be honest, I am surprised to this day she is not on my black list. It must be because she at least doesn't play stereotypically girly characters. Though while tomboyish, her characters do tend to mellow out and tame themselves as the plot progresses. You even forget she's supposed to be strong. None of this though can compare to this horrendous and weirdly nationalistic script. I have absolutely no idea what was going on with that script. A haphazard mess that progresses rapidly yet is also terribly slow. It's tinged with nationalistic undertones as villains who are Mongolian awkwardly express how proud the Goryeo people are, I was like "what?" I'm going to stop now because as I said before I have a three page rant about this drama and I swear, this is one drama, at the mere mention of it, I can write pages and pages of how awful it is.
Gosh, I haven't even touched on the poorly done relationships. Telling you relationships materialize out of no where into deeply rooted feelings with no basis.
Terrible planning - I am shocked many find this smart.
Ji Chang Wook's character - A favorite among many but of course not I.
I was going to write the exact same article, what is this? Now I can't write it!!! ;_; Feck, I have so many 1.…
Ouroboros has almost none of that. Neither a great plot nor a well written story that flows nicely. It's full of illogical planning and stupid plot holes that I genuinely actually felt I had wasted my time. I mean what a cast it had, and what a shitty script. To be honest, I disliked the manga too and dropped that so I don't know what made me think this drama would be better (To be honest, didn't see the correlation as I forget most things that fail to catch my interest until about two episodes in when the plot seemed awfully familiar). In my humble opinion, the manga would have benefited from severe editing and a less repetitive sequence. Ouroboros merely had potential but nothing more. They failed to strengthen the interesting aspects of the story and instead focused on shitty action and a stupidly planned vengeance plot that while horrific is almost laughable. This was one of those dramas that in another universe, I am a drama doctor who is called in to fix dramas with potential because the writers can't tie things together for shit. I am genuinely angry at this drama for wasting my time.

To me It's Okay That's Love is a cliche love story spiced up with some mediocre psychology but ultimately, the psychology is poorly done in terms of profession and only serves to feed us a love story. It's quite easy to see where a good portion of it was going however, I think just as in the same theme as I Hear Your Voice and Bridal Mask, I dislike poorly done premises that ultimately really nurse stereotypical plots. However, more than the story, I really couldn't swallow So Ji Sub's acting and let me tell you I've seen him in a multitude of works but he looked so absolutely awkward that I just couldn't. Many here have hailed his acting, but it was one of the first things I commented on in regards to this drama. His interactions with the pretty boy who we had all figured out by the second episode wasn't real help nurse his awkwardness, but just his mannerisms and expressions made me completely zap out of the moment.

I have reviews of almost all these dramas minus It's Okay That's Love. I simply don't want to repeat the exact same extensive mutterings I have already pretty much publicized. Almost all my reviews are rather lengthy too so it's not like a sit there simply going, this sucked.
