I was going to write the exact same article, what is this? Now I can't write it!!! ;_;
Feck, I have so many
1. I hear my yawn, mhm, I hear my voice
2. Bridal Mask (Messy, just messy)
3. Ouroboros (messy, so messy, and a shitty plot)
4. Gu Family Book - Ridiculously dumb
5. It's Okay That's Love - I'll be honest, I dropped on ep 6
I think the people who are badmouthing this drama are just upset with the ending. I kind of expected the ending…
I've been watching dramas since 2008, so perhaps there are people who've watched more. After all, I drop a lot of dramas because the reality is many are mediocre and I can't be bothered to keep up with lazily scripted nonsense. They are released with rushed scripts and tight deadlines. Mind you, I enjoy all genres. In fact, this is exactly my genre. However, this is a silly plotted and mediocre drama that I can only suspect is highly rated for the eye candy. I finished for the sheer reason that I could say, I genuinely gave it a try since I've been accused of that. Okay that's partly somewhat of a lie, Oguri Shun was eye candy, but drama is still a huge mess. I also wrote a very constructive review of this. I don't know how I could be any clearer. My review has been up for a few days and I pointed out all I could. Plus I've long since learned, collective opinion is a dangerous thing and I'm not sure what the correlation between a lot of drama watching and rating is.

Not at all, I commented on episode five on my feed that this drama sucked and would be lucky to get a 5 out of me. In fact, I really struggled to finish it.
i cant believe this show is the top show among all asian shows this is a sick joke if u wonder to watch this or…
Fair enough but rating is based on percentage I assume, the same on IMDB as the the Godfather is ranked second but has 500,000 less votes than Shawshank (I guess generation gap because The Godfather is one heck of a movie and book, and Shawshank is seriously underwhelming and I even read the book). So even if 50 people watched a drama and found it to be a masterpiece, it's based on percentage. For instance, on IMDB, 12 angry men only has 400,000 ratings and it's ranked 12th. It's about 96th on the most rated list. On that note, ratings to me are misleading in that as I explained before. Moorim has only aired a mere 1 episode and is already rivaling this drama in ratings... Cheese in the trap at four episodes has 8.7. Also, there is one huge discrepancy in that the IMDB list is movies. The TV rating is much different. Band of Brothers is not the most viewed show on IMDB. On that note, IMDB's ranking list is still pretty damn good as the top rated shows are also really critically acclaimed and some of the most viewed. Here, ratings are based on personal fancy and even NiF is subject to the same scrutiny. Old Boy even on IMDB has a huge amount of ratings and is easily one of the best movies to come out of Asia, here, I believe, it's not even top 100. Furthermore, if we looked at ratings, I guarantee, the probably would be about three chinese or Japanese dramas that would make it in the top 100. Korean dramas reign supreme here no matter how awful they are. You will find some of the most critically acclaimed shows even in Korea are sitting ranked 1000 on this site. Jeong Do Jeon hasn't even been subbed despite being hailed one of the best historical dramas to come out of Korea and it even had decent ratings. Nirvana in Fire is one of the most viewed dramas in China and also one of the most critically acclaimed, yet has a mere 200 ratings. First of all, this site should start by barring ratings before even a drama has started... Plus, I find here, looks play a huge part in people caring about dramas. Lee Minho is a viewer guarantee. As is Oguri Shun.

Sorry, I don't even see the math there. There literally was no math just numbers with no correlation. I mean you pinpoint the Shawshank rating and then you talk about this rating but where is this 1% coming from? What is the base? Furthermore, it's not accounting for the fact that almost all the dramas here face that same problem. I may have missed your formula and I'm genuinely curious where your percentages are coming from. Have we explored the population here ? Have we explored other dramas and applied the same formula? For instance Moorim School has only aired I think one episode or maybe not even and it already has over 200 ratings... Cheese in the Trap is already top 20 after a mere four episodes...
I don't often drop dramas, but I do try to screen them before I start using similar criteria. How about a list…
Le Jun Kai is one of those that we all hate to love. I hated the theme, but I still defend that drama and it's funny because the people here who are picky have some similar opinions.

I belong to the clan that couldn't watch 1 litre of Tears so I can't compare. I just could not get passed the whole death theme. However, this is easily the best drama I have ever watched and I consider myself very hard to please. I also simply can't be biased. I didn't know who the actors/actresses were and I rarely watch chinese dramas. I also didn't find any of the cast attractive enough to drool over.
honestly i gave this a 4 because as good as it was, the ending was so bad that it made you question the entire…
You know it's based on history... Just saying, the story has traces of fiction but the ending did pretty much happen. I'm not sure what you wanted but Prince Sunyang was successful in his revolution and despite being quite a decent king, he was gripped with guilt that he never enjoyed having power. However, this was a king that killed everyone who was against him...

Funny enough, I'd say that about almost 70% of the top shows that aren't this. Like I don't understand how all those Korean shows are above Hanzawa Naoki.
Should have read the only true valuable review which is from the person who gave this a four. I gave this a 5.5 and stressed generosity but to give this anything more than a seven is folly. To the picky folks out there, okay this isn't even being picky, from a tame perspective, this drama sucked.
The lack of Han Suk Kyu injures me. That man is brilliant, just brilliant. Famously known for Tree With Deep Roots. Also Lee Jung Jae is simply a must! Song Kang Ho and Choi Min Shik are your stereotypical greats that are stellar no matter what.
Beginning can be a bit overwhelming so maybe they didn't do the best job at introducing everyone but if you are…
I'm looking for intricately plotted books, not just any book. There are many books that can't be beat on my list but when it comes to historical or really books with intricate plots where the main character is a master mind, I have found it very hard to find or good books that require you to unravel mysteries. I'm often very disappointed at the end. I guess I should go for the Count of Monte Christo. Above I mentioned some very popular authors that sold millions because that seems to be the standard of this type of literature these days. Like that Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They had the nerve to put that in the same caliber as The Silence of the lambs. As a fan of Thomas Harris and all the hannibal movies and especially the series, that still has me seething. As this is one of the few crime thrillers I like. However, it's not a vengeance story as with the Song of Ice and Fire Series which is easily one of the best series I've picked up. To many this is Game of Thrones. It has some of the best characterizations though that seriously diminishes in the fourth book, but where are the good and well plotted vengeance tales?

As the avid reader that I am, please recommend some books with well plotted stuff? Especially if it beats this, then I simply must know where this stuff is hiding. A lot of them have left me completely underwhelmed if not on my blacklist. Supposedly raved about mysteries from the likes of Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown, and the piece of shit that was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo have left me seething and annoyed. Especially The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Possibly one of the worst books I've ever read. Oh and no detective mysteries, I just have not come across a detective series that I've liked. I know I'm coming off as really pedantic and harsh, but I am genuinely seeking well crafted plots. I'll even take movie recommendations. Unless you liked any of the books or authors mentioned above, then forget I asked for recommendations please... PS. If you're talking along the lines of The Song of Ice and Fire series, then yes please!
Still need to download raw either via torrent and if your a mac user, welcome to plenty of head aches. It's 2015, why anyone would still use this system is beyond me. I suffered through it in 2009 and it was a computer slowing process, heaven's forbid, I have to go back and download bittorrent and then find a raw only to hope VLC is cool with it because when it's not, I must then find a codec... No thanks. Oh and good luck not getting a virus through this process.
Kim Hye Soo and Lee Jung Jae <3 Is this though Korean actresses in their 40s? After all, over forty, there are a lot of veteran actors that are fantastic like Kim Hae-Sook.
Missing noir M nor Punch are mentioned for the best drama of 2015 I am a bit sad, because in the comments I saw…
We should all know by now, the Korean list tends to be a popularity contest. It finally explains why I have not finished the top ten dramas on this site. Also funny is that almost the same dramas recur in just about every section.
I totally agree with every single word. Great review really. This drama is pure masterpiece, I have yet to come…
This I agree, I'm not even satisfied with my review because I feel there's so much to write, it's tough to decide what to focus on. The plot itself is so well done but so are these little and clever character details.
I was not as impressed by this drama as many viewers on here. The aspects that I enjoyed of it were the settings,…
I belong to the clan that cannot rewatch dramas and it's still a miracle to me that this took my breath away to the very end as I can never watch this many episodes of any drama because as I mentioned before, dramas tend to recede to known formulas or throw in random characters and drama that never makes sense for the plot. In fact, I started this with no intention of finishing it but clearly, I wasn't prepared. However, it seems you and I are of the same mind. Far more engaged in intellectually crafted politics than mediocre dramatics. There were actually many times, I held my breath at scenes because I kept waiting for the same historical drama formulas to emerge and when they didn't is when I was sure, this was going to the top of my list. It's not even Su Zhe/mei changsu who is brilliant if we're talking about little complexities, it's that the villains in themselves are also smart. They aren't terrorizing Mei Changu for no reason or just being randomly villainous. It really takes a compelling drama to actually humanize the antagonist and I think all my favorite dramas have done this. This took it to another level too because my last feelings for Prince Yu was a deep sympathy. Even the King, who the more I ponder on him, the more he rises up as one of the best done characters in this drama that I didn't quite absorb when I was watching.
