This drama should have been more about a girl who is anxious and scared about being loved and a guy who is scared to show his love, and how Do Rami becomes the translator for these two. And how they overcome their own problems, heal and get together.
And from the synopsis here, I thought there would be more scenes with Do Rami going balistic and ML tries to do damage control, but nothing of that sort happens, if anything it was everyone else who were sharp with their words to the FL. When did this "The core tension comes from Ho Jin's job itself: every interview and press conference becomes a live minefield where one literal translation could spark a scandal, while one "edited" line could betray Mu Hui's true self. " happen. The programs where the ML translated for FL were all recorded not live and anything can be edited. And the only scandal that broke out was about FL ex and that was not due to translation.
Things I wasn't a fan of1. The ml family is too complicated and it didn't anything to they story. They could have…
True, the ML's family was complicated just to be complicated, same for his past love. His brother, was only in a few scenes and then just disappeared, he had no impact on the current story, and it feels like they just used it like a plot device for ML's characterization and nothing else. It would have been different if the brother and his first love got back together, but they formed a new couple with her and that didn't have any impact on the main story.
The worse part about ML's past love is that she says she liked the ML in her second meeting, but she was already in a relationship with his brother (correct me if I am wrong).
The novelist, feels like an uncle who was close with the family, and when everyone left, he kind of took over as a guardian of the ML and watched over him. Evident by him going over to speak to FL's family.
Hated the last ep. They used the kinda break up but not really/ I need to go to resolve an internal issue/ for…
I think they should have broken up, because they way they started the relaionship saying that they will not break up for a month but will definitely break up. That does not bode well for them, especially when the FL believes in superstition like walking under the ladder, or collecting the four leaf clovers for a wish. So it is in line with her character to actually want to break up and clear up all her problems (her cause of anxiety) and start the relationship with the ML again properly. But that doesn't mean she has to go without contact for who knows how long, and what she did to overcome her problems. That is where I agree with you.
The whole drama was about her problems that started from her parents. But that main part was done behind the scenes. Showing that would have made this much better, or better yet, they shouldn't have made her parents come back to life in the last episode, and instead made her come to terms with it.
This drama started out great, with the ML being cursed with misfortune and about to die, and then FL trying to…
And is his grandma still cursed? He burnt the photos like yeomhwa wanted to (still don't know why he did that when the FL who was trying to save him said not to)
At the very beginning, this drama was very good. The concept of a high school girl like Seong A being a shaman…
I don't know about shamanism, but from what I have seen in other dramas, if a spirit/ ghost kills someone then they become evil or corrupted. And Yeomhwa sacrificed nearly 99 souls and the general being the 100th. but his sanity was still there, and the guy did nothing evil at all, they could have at least shown him having an internal struggle to keep the corruption at bay. but nope. And for Yeomhwa, they should not have revealed why she is doing this, or how she came to take this path. As you said that completely ruined the mysteriousness of her character and that made the show without a real villain. This made the show lose all urgency and the danger that the characters are going through. They had great potential but lost it all
This drama started out great, with the ML being cursed with misfortune and about to die, and then FL trying to save him and then the story of bong su, and the Yeomhwa trying to get a patron evil deity. There were a lot to unpack here, but the story just skimmed through it.
The drama doesn't show why ML's parents started to avoid him, from the story it seems Yeomhwa was putting all the misfortunes of the family onto him so that he can be used to create the evil deity? But was he chosen at random, or was he already cursed with misfortune that the family brought him to her and she picked him, and how did Yeomhwa get involved with ML's family, or did the parents use him to ward off all their misfortunes so that they could get rich or something that they treat her well? The drama doesn't dwell into these at all, even though it is about the ML. And the fire, they say that ML started the fire, but then hinted that the ghosts might have started it like in the storage, but at the end, the girl says she started the fire? Why ? and why does the ML get the blame? And why does she hate him for taking the blame? There is no explanation for this. It would have made more sense if it was the ghost, then the girl could be blaming him because of the misfortune that causes accidents. But nope, she started the fire, ML was with her, and then she makes sure that he is not happy.
The FL's backstory is somewhat explored but I might have missed it, but why did her parents leave her? or are they dead because they used evil shaman arts? Again no explanation, just that she was exploited and then adopted by the general. And Ji Ho should have ended up with someone at the end, at least with that girl from their group.
The general is trying to rectify the wrong doing of Yeomhwa, but her way of doing it is to let her sacrifice 100 people to the evil spirit? And in that process made the life of ML a living hell, impacted his grandma's life, and also the life of her second adopted daughter, FL. If she wants to save her, then she should have been actively doing something, not passively wait and let her sacrifice 100 lives. She found the house, did nothing to safeguard it, she could have erected a barrier or set up shamans to guard it. Nope, all she did was block the house so the spirit doesn't come out when she knows that evil shaman is doing this. Yeomhwa just used her bare hands to remove the blocks, not even a spell. And if she is going to die in the hands of the grim reaper, as she planned, then she could have taken bong su and sacrificed herself and ended the whole thing. Though it would not have the same effect on Yeomhwa, but others would have been safe. And I thought she had some great plan when she kept both the evil spirit and Yeomhwa in the same place, but that only served to give Yeomhwa info to make her plans. And Yeomhwa got away scot free even after everything she has done. No divine punishment or anything.
And this would have been way better if it focused on the bong su in the memories, and trying to console him in the present by giving him the school memories that he missed due to the war. And not stealing first kisses from both the ML and FL. Another way it could have gone is by FL trying to do good and help people to balance out the evil bongsu had, and that way he won't go to hell but actually cross over. Instead she was out there committing evil acts to escape so that she could pray. From what I know about shamanism, from watching other dramas, doesn't the spirit become evil or corrupted when it does evil acts, especially murder? Bong su had taken nearly 100 lives, but still retained his sanity and was good? That really confused me. This drama should have focused on the backstory and how they were going to deal with the evil deity and some romance while they are doing this. Like actually searching for the names of the soldiers, and finding out that their is only one name. They should have either made this a shaman story or a highschool story, instead of confusing both, and not delivering either. Can you even call this a evil deity? or calamity? Bong su did nothing evil even after becoming the evil deity/ calamity. If you say that FL confined him with her powers, then it was still the same when bong su was in ML, and he is weak in terms of spirit. And bong su had no evil tendencies. So without that, the viewers don't feel the urgency or the danger the evil diety poses. It is just Yeomhwa saying it is bad. All the other characters were calm and cool with bong su.
I have thoughts about this drama. Good and Bad.So here we go:I loved the kids. I also loved the bonding between…
It has been a while since I watched it so I could be wrong, but from the recording it seems that she only loved the antagonist and not the ML's brother from the start. She was just with him for the money, but when the antagonist confesses, she wants to get back to him so she uses the kids as a way to get the money and start a better life with the antagonist, this leads to the accident where they both died. It could be a few months between the antagonist confessing and the accident.
I do agree, there should have been more episodes to explain these properly or at least of the ML and FL having a kid of their own.
for me, this was a 6/10. i loved how the relationships formed in the beginning, and how the fl was slowly but…
Poor Jae Hoon is in a one sided relationship. she could have said something when he came back from US, she didn't even say that she missed him or anything like that, or even have a change in expression when she saw him. And I too, thought that him staying in the US would have been a more realistic ending to their relationship.
In the novel Qin Qian Xian ascended to immortality. He didn't die. So I'm sticking with the novel on that one.…
This is so much better than what happened in the drama. And the personlity switch between the kids would have been so nice to see as the final scene, rather than the leads acting as siblings with their original personality. That wierded me out.
Is there a reason why the ML's mole is blue all the time? Were they supposed to CGI it out and forgot?
The ML and his brother have a mole because they practice the book of xincan, and the colour depends on the property of martial skills, which is either blue or red. Since ML's martial skills use Ice, his mole is blue.
She is cured, as she had strands of black hair coming back. And from, what I guessed is that after she was hit, ML used the proper technique combining both the books of xincan and yueque, to cure her disease. That was the cure stated in the letter left behind the ancestor of the tang clan. And also, the doc stated that she wouldn't live past 20, after her disease worsened, and in the final scene, the ML tells her that she is 20 years old before she woke up. So, we can say she is cured.
And from the synopsis here, I thought there would be more scenes with Do Rami going balistic and ML tries to do damage control, but nothing of that sort happens, if anything it was everyone else who were sharp with their words to the FL.
