Title Journey to the Shore Spoiler
hi! i'll give you my personal thoughts. well, the title means peter pan dream, we can see minha drawing peter…
Yeah going back over the film I don't know how I didn't piece that together. I just took everything literally, but it's soooo obvious now. The part that really gives it away is the flashback scene at the end when they are eating and talking about what they will do as adults and Minha says 'you do that,' meaning he doesn't plan on doing those things because he's already decided to kill himself. I don't even think the film was that subtle in alluding to the suicide, I was just completely duh lol

Thank so much for your take on it! I never even thought of suicide! But that would make so much sense. I thought he just left him haha.

This was filmed in a very beautiful way. The fighting choreography was stunning (if not a little unbelievable at times), the cinematography was on fleek, and the acting from Sato Takeru was as gorgeous as ever. This is the only one I've seen of the whole series and I feel like I would have appreciated it more had I watched the originals first. I felt like there were some characters and scenes that would be more impactful or nostalgic or something. Great film though, I'll be checking out the other ones :)

As much as I agree with supporting the owners, it is pretty much unavoidable in this day and age of modern technology. I try my best to support people where I can but honestly with all the streaming services out there competing to get into your wallet, it's absolutely impossible and infeasible to pay for EVERYTHING you want to watch. When you create something and send it out into the universe, you are relinquishing some control over where it will end up. That's just the way the wind blows.

Videos are watermarked and companies like Gagaoolala who hold the rights to it have ways of tracking their videos down via the watermarking. So either way, it's a matter of time before any illegal redistributions/streams are tracked down and taken down. So, it doesn't really matter if someone posts the link. Depending on the companies voracity in hunting down illegal copies, it will be taken down sooner or later regardless of comments.

This is such a sweet movie! It shines a light on discrimination and shows that people with disabilities have a lot to offer if given the chance.

Okay so this might end up being a bit of a rant so bear with me. So the first frustrating thing that happened was when the coach made all the senior players quit the team because he didn't see any potential in them. Like, wth? What kind of message does that send people? He basically said give up on your dreams because no matter how hard you try it's not going to work. With enough training and support he could have turned some of those players around, for sure! So that was the first uninspiring thing that happened in this film and it just snowballed from there. Then we are introduced into poor Ota, the teams pitcher. The coach is acting like he's the only player on the team! making him carry the weight of their wins and losses on his shoulders alone. Dude, we get it, Ota is the ace, he's amazing, but there are 17+ other people on the team, yet the coach is beating the crap out of him because he has an elbow injury and can't pitch properly!?!? The writers didn't even try to tackle the psychological effects this type of abuse causes. Grrr, if this is based on real events I'm even more upset. And what was with the ending credits saying Ota overworked his elbow and couldn't pitch ever again? LOL wtf? What was this movie even trying to prove/do?

Okay, I know you have to sacrifice everything in order to be the best but this movie takes it way too far. The amount of violence the coach did against his players, especially poor Ota, is in no way shape or form acceptable. He was nothing but a bully and yet the writers of this movie tried to make it seem like he was just giving them tough love. I didn't feel inspired watching this. I felt frustrated that the writers were normalizing systematic abuse. I will say that the actors did a great job. The production quality and cinematography was great, as well. But I wouldn't recommend this film as it sends a very, very distorted message about physical abuse.

The plot felt quite rushed at times because it was only 44 minutes. Had they made it a full length they could have developed the characters a little more to give it a more well-rounded, professional feel. I felt a bit disconnected from all the sad things that happened to Light even though his part was acted so well because the plot was just a little too rushed. It was still a very good film, though. There was great camera work and some very beautifully shot scenes, especially towards the beginning.

Why does it say " pedophilia " , I am scared to watch
Slight spoiler alert, I think?•••The ex-con who stays uninvited in the intellectually disabled couple's home behaves inapproriately at times with their daughter; like touching, staring, etc. If I remember correctly, I think there's only one scene towards the end that is hard to watch.
