XL is confusing and kind of like a cat to me. You can’t grasp him. Sometimes I feel he has the most pure unselfish most sacrificing love for XY but then he trades every good deed he does for her for something for himself which clouds the good deed because you never get to find out if he would have done it had there not been something in it for him. I think it would, but it’s a question mark…. also he loses his temper and physically hurts her even in the latter part when he snaps and that’s always scary & a fear. For me he’s a complicated contradictory character that is hard to fully put your hands on and that can be super sexy and appealing but also anxiety inducing.

I really really would have loved an alternate universe though where he was endgame and we got way more of him and saw him fully evolve into his husband arc. Sigh.

it’s so crazy!!

I find him extremely charismatic and hot and enticing and definitely think about “what if”

but then I think ok….. let’s say XY loved him back…. would he truly make her his only woman? He is able to spend lots of time with her so it does seem like he would have been able to accompany her a lot and I think they have inadvertently undermined the story in the drama by having him in soooo many scenes with XY when he’s supposed to be preoccupied with other things….

anyway I have definitely had moments thinking about how they could have been a power couple and he would have done any and everything for her and it’s sad she never even had one iota of feeling for him.

This show is amazing because you could literally break it up into 3 separate shows and I would root for each ML in the separate alternate universe. Whoever did the casting deserves an award.

I am SOOOOOOOOO not a XL hater AT ALL. If she ended up with him I would have been happy if that was how the story unfolded. In general I personally prefer dramas where the guys like XL where he is cold and misunderstood and becomes warm for the woman he loves although I admit the physical abuse did turn me off and he still is unpredictable and physically hurts her and I hate that. But generally XL is practically my prototype for a Male Lead in my fave dramas. If XY chose him I would totally be happy for them. I’m not a shipper but I feel the need to defend XY’s POV sometimes when I feel like some shippers just ignore what she herself feels that’s all.

again the entire point of her character is that she doesn’t want to ever go back to that time when she was a killer!!!! it was the worst most miserable time of her life and she doesn’t want a man who does those things!!! that IS the point. She states this so clearly!!!

I think it’s a begrudging “I entrusted the woman I love you you and you keep bring her trouble” but he keeps entrusting her to him this to me it’s an endearing nag. Because to my interpretation deep down he also thinks Jing is a good person worthy of XY.

I’m really targeting this at the people in the comments who keep repeating it and using it against Jing. I’m saying he’s like a nagging grandma to be bring levity because that’s how I have always interpreted it, as just a nagging but endearing loving comment but since people in the comments are making a huge thing of it as if he really means it then I’m going to counter it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kotuku it’s really like you insist on missing the whole point of the story!!!! XY doesn’t want people killed! She specifically tells Jing NOT to seek revenge and kill his brother. She specifically scoffs every time XL tries to solve a problem with “pay me to kill them”

I get that you like characters to solve problems that way but the entire point of XY character is that SHE doesn’t like to do that and she doesn’t want JING to do that and Jing is the only man who has the heart NOT to do it thus he is the man she loves because he has kept his pure heart.

You can think a pure heart is stupid like CX but I think even XL at his core is envious and respectful of Jing for not being that person. it means that he will never turn on XY and never hurt XY. And XL knows this deep down.
