Since so many in the comments are taking XL nagging of Jing calling him useless seriously (which I do not) let me counter you. Its amazing how XL has the audacity to constantly call Jing worthless from the sidelines when it’s Jing who is constantly targeted and people are trying to kill and keep apart from XiaoYao. It was Jing who tried to save XaioYao by using all his spirit power to shield her from the fire during the assassination. It was Jing who saved XY from a loveless marriage and also saved the Chenrong Army from starvation during winter. it was Jing who maneuvered CX to be in a position to be King. It was Jing who saved and healed XY heart. XL is just a nagging bench watcher every time he criticizes Jing when Jing has weak spirit power so he can’t brute force things, and he in the latest attempt on his life he couldn’t predict that the literal KING would use his power to try to kill him. I LOVE XL but honestly he’s like a nagging grandma who isn’t in the game yet criticizes a player from the sideline! Don’t take kindness for weakness!!! Both the Yellow Emporer and XY have tried to get this across to both CX and the audience.
and once again I don’t ship XY with any of them specifically. I love all 3 men deeply. I only ship her with whoever she herself chooses. I respect her POV and love her🤷🏻♀️
To be fair, not being able to binge season 2, makes me feel like the pacing is different than S1. If only I could…
I rewatched and binged all episodes together a few days ago and there is still a noticeable difference in the latter part of season 2 in the editing and execution.
Could someone tell me, does XL save Jing? Please spoil me with the details. When and how does Jing go back to…
We don’t know yet but I think the pill that XY gave Jing to take in an emergency probably saves his life + XL finding him somewhere and bringing him back. it’s different from the book.
I’m very unsatisfied with the entire TSH vs TSJ part from the moment TSJ & XY get to Quinshui Town and the retarded karate chop and just the whole thing from beginning to end and the insanely lackluster CGI and fight scene….two foxes and we don’t even get any foxtails or fox CGI fight. just horrible execution. Episode 18 made up in quality for the trash that was episode 17 thank goodness.
Yang Zi delivers another amazing performance. While I just can't, with Jing, Yang Zi showed XY breaking and going…
XL is also unaware that CX was behind Jings assasination so he’s working on only half the information. You continue to miss the point about Jing! it’s bizarre! Get out of DELULU land 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Take the last four episodes, for example:- The super sweet and romantic proposal scene where XY gets super shy…
yes, both the book and drama are her story and I’m sure some things she may have wanted to alter in the book she did for the drama. But I do wonder how much of the screenwriting had outside pressure and input to change or edit out some things.
Don't mind me.. I'm just mourning the loss of how much potential this drama had and how much more beautiful it…
I don’t understand why they made so many changes in the back half of the drama. Someone else alluded to it being based on star power and C-ENT politics but it’s just strange. The new 40 episode rule doesn’t even make sense because they could have made season2/Part 2 40 episodes and not had to edit out/cut down scenes. They changed & edited out some important dialogue…. and then did weird things like with changing crucial points in the story,FFYY & Jing’s convo, XY & Jing’s web hammock, Jing’s proposal, Fenglong telling XY Jing came to see him to cancel the wedding bcs she wasn’t happy. XY going to her parents house with only Jing & Step father not CX. XY & Jing bowing to her parents portrait not CX or XL. I think they are trying to spread the screen time so much between all 3 men that in the end that theyve kind of ruined a lot of it. Missed potential indeed.
How someone who killed herself, can be called a person who choose love and live Both Jing and XY were able love…
She hasn’t killed herself yet. And no one is denying his sacrifices. The point is that his sacrifices are his own choice. Because he wants her to live and love as he can’t.
I love this analysis. That XaioYao is Xiang Lu’s living face. She’s the version that chooses life and love while he’s the version that chooses sacrifice and death. In many ways he vicariously lives through her and her life and love. I’ve often thought that there is a lot of subtext to XiangLu’s many complicated feelings many of which are romantic towards her yes but many of which also seem like they are a yearning to live instead of die. In XaioYao he meets someone with a tragic background of abandonment like him, someone he can deeply relate to, and she provides a path of what life can be if you choose to live and love and open your heart. So some of his yearning isn’t just the idea of a life with XaioYao, but choosing to live. Period. And with the couple bug he gets to vicariously experience many of those feelings he never may have felt before. He’s known his path from the start and he chose every step of the way to stay on that path, but he takes some solace in knowing that through XaioYao he also felt life and love and what the different path could be, and helping her have what he never could.
